Horror photos show aftermath of fatal Truganina crash that left passenger dead and sports car shredded after colliding with parked truck
Two people were travelling in a bright orange Ford Mustang through Truganina, in Melbourne's west, when they ploughed into a parked truck about 1am.
While the truck appears mostly unscathed, the Mustang was completely shredded.
The person sitting on the passenger side of the car, which sustained most of the damage, was killed.
The driver was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Dramatic images from the scene show a nearly unrecognisable car crushed into a heap.
Chunks of the car were scattered across the road, and the roof was taken clean off on the passenger's side.
Firefighters were on site Wednesday morning inspecting the damage.
Major Collision Investigation Unit detectives are investigating the crash.
The investigation into the circumstances surrounding the crash remains ongoing.
