Arizona Cardinals could re-sign 2 players if competition at their positions isn't great
Arizona Cardinals could re-sign 2 players if competition at their positions isn't great Will Hernandez and Kyzir White remain unsigned this offseason.
The Arizona Cardinals appear to have completed the offseason moves they intend to make for the roster. They added many defensive players, improving the defensive front seven. They still have questions at a couple of positions currently, though.
Right guard and inside linebacker appear to have wide-open competitions. But if no one stands out, the Cardinals could bring back a familiar faces.
Who are the two unsigned free agents the Cardinals could bring back?
OL Will Hernandez
Hernandez is coming off a torn ACL so he might not be healthy yet, but if the Cardinals discover that Isaiah Adams, Royce Adams and others are not standing out enough to be the starter, you might see the Cardinals re-sign him close to training camp. And his return seems possible, as the Cardinals did not assign No. 76, his number for the last several seasons, to any other player.
LB Zyzir White
'White remains unsigned. The Cardinals signed Akeem Davis-Gaither in free agency and drafted Cody Simon in the fourth round. Davis-Gaither has only started 11 games in his career and Simon is a Day 3 rookie. White's No. 7 now belongs to backup quarterback Jacoby Brissett but perhaps would be an option if neither Davis-Gaither nor Simon show enough to start.

92 days till the Arizona Cardinals' 2025 season opener: Who has worn No. 92?
92 days till the Arizona Cardinals' 2025 season opener: Who has worn No. 92? With 92 days till the Cardinals open the season against the Saints, we look at the players who have worn No. 92. We are counting down to the start of the 2025 regular season for the Arizona Cardinals and are now less than 14 weeks away. They will open the season on the road against the New Orleans Saints on Sept. 7. That is 92 days away. As we count down the remaining days of the offseason, let's look at who has worn that number uniform over the years for the Cardinals. Who has worn No. 92? Cardinals players to wear No. 92 No. 92 currently belongs to defensive lineman Bilal Nichols, acquired in free agency a year ago but only played in six games before a neck injury ended his season. DL Bilal Nichols (2024-?) DL Kevin Strong (2023) DL Antwaun Woods (2022) DL Zach Kerr (2019, 2021) DL Rashard Lawrence (2020) LB Dennis Gardeck (2018) DL Frostee Rucker (2015-2017) DL Dan Williams (2010-2014) DL Bertrand Berry (2004-2009) DL Barron Tanner (2000-2003) DL Angel Rubio (1999) DL Eric England (1994-1996) DL Dexter Manley (1990) Berry is probably the best No. 92. He was an impactful pass rusher who got to be part of the Super Bowl team in 2008. Williams was solid but unspectacular while Rucker was solid. Head coach Stephanie White to miss Fever's game at Chicago, Austin Kelly to step in
CHICAGO -- Head coach Steph White won't be at the Fever's game against the Chicago Sky on Saturday night, a team spokesperson confirmed to IndyStar on Saturday morning. White was not with the team on Friday during practice because of personal reasons, and her status was previously to be determined for Saturday's game. First assistant Austin Kelly will be the acting head coach, and assistants Karima Christmas-Kelly and Briann January will also step into bigger roles. It's currently unknown how long White will be away from the team. White has a lot of trust in her staff, most of whom she's worked with for years. "My staff is so good and trusting in them that if I needed to be away for a period of time, it's status quo," White told IndyStar ahead of the season. "Our team knows that, they have great respect for them, and I know that, and I trust them implicitly, so it gives even more peace of mind." Kelly, who talked with the media on Friday, has worked with White for three years now. He joined her staff in Connecticut in 2023 and followed her to Indianapolis after she took the job with the Fever. More: Caitlin Clark is a spectator for the first time. How she's handling injury, working her way back January also has also worked with White for three years, beginning in 2023 in Connecticut. Christmas-Kelly joined White's staff in 2025 after two years on the Fever's assistant coaching staff under Christie Sides.
