AP DGP and TTD EO reviews on Tirumala security
In light of the current situation in the country, a high-level meeting focused on bolstering security in Tirumala was convened, featuring Andhra Pradesh DGP Harish Kumar Gupta and Thitide EO J. Shyamala Rao. The meeting took place at Annamayya Bhavan in Tirumala on Friday, where Tirupati SP and TTD in-charge CVSO, Harshavardhan Raju, delivered a PowerPoint presentation outlining various security challenges.
DGP Gupta emphasised the need for an improved security framework that acknowledges Tirumala's unique international significance. He advocated for a coordinated effort among the Andhra Pradesh Special Police (APSP), District Armed Reserve (DAR), Special Protection Force (SPF), Home Guard, Civil Police, and Thitide Security to establish a Disaster Management Team equipped to handle emergencies effectively.
The meeting also highlighted the necessity of creating a stable Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) across different security agencies. Plans for a multi-tiered vehicle inspection system at Alipiri, a collaboration with defence agencies centred on a sensor-based system, and the introduction of modern security equipment were discussed.
J. Shyamala Rao reiterated the importance of a cohesive coordination system with associated agencies to enhance overall security. He stressed the need for further strengthening the cyber security measures in Tirumala and expressed satisfaction with the comprehensive review of security protocols conducted during the meeting.
Additional DG (Law and Order) Sudhakar Reddy, Additional DG (Intelligence) Mahesh Chandra Ladda, Anantapur Range DIG Dr. Shemushi, ISW SP Arif Hafeez, TTD officials, and other senior officials were present at the meeting.

TTD condemns Hyd based devotee's malicious propaganda over quality of Laddu
Tirupati: The world famous "Tirupati laddu" is once again in the news following a series of accusations levelled by a Hyderabad-based devotee on the quality of the prasadam. Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams has condemned the devotee's accusations and clarified that while it was true that the devotee identified as Naveen Kumar sustained an injury in his mouth when he tried to savour the sacred prasadam, but it was not because of the poor quality of the laddu. Naveen Kumar alleged in a video which has gone viral on various social media platforms that he sustained an injury in his mouth after he consumed the laddu prasadam after completing his darshan of Lord Venkateswara at Tirumala on June 8. "On June 8 after TTD came to know about the incident and Naveen Kumar was rushed to TTD run Aswini and SVIMS hospitals and various medical tests were carried out and treatment was provided to him. The medical tests confirmed that Naveen Kumar sustained an injury as he bit his tongue while trying to eat the laddu. Hence it is clear that the injury caused to the devotee was not because of the poor quality of the prasadam", a TTD official clarified. The TTD authorities said the pilgrim has resorted to a malicious misinformation propaganda over the issue by levelling allegations over the quality of laddu with a sole intention of extorting a compensation from the Tirupati trust. "Since none of his allegations is true and since he has resorted to a false propaganda against the laddu prasadam, which has hurt the sentiments of the devotees worldwide, appropriate legal action will be initiated against Naveen Kumar for trying to mislead the public with his false propaganda", TTD authorities added. Yadagirigutta board eludes as two mantris flex their muscles
Hyderabad: Group politics within the ruling Congress party in Nalgonda district have reportedly delayed the constitution of the Yadagirigutta Temple Development (YTD) Trust Board, intended to be modelled on the lines of the renowned Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) in Tirupati. Ministers such as N Uttam Kumar Reddy and the Komatireddy brothers are understood to be actively lobbying to secure positions for their nominees on the Trust Board. The State government had made a clear decision to establish YTD, drawing inspiration from the TTD. A senior official confirmed that the government intends to constitute trust boards for temples with an annual revenue exceeding Rs 100 crore. As the Yadagirigutta Temple falls into this category, a trust board is slated for formation. To facilitate this, the government amended The Telangana Charitable and Hindu Religious Institutions and Endowments Amendment Act 2025 in March of this year. However, sources indicate that the initiative has stalled due to internal group politics within Nalgonda district. It is understood that information was already conveyed to public representatives in the district, but the response has been negative, with officials being asked to postpone the matter for a few days. Several MLAs from the district are reportedly eyeing positions on the board, given Yadagirigutta's annual income of Rs 224 crore. Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy recently instructed officials to swiftly establish the board, mirroring the TTD structure, with the aim of enhancing the management and development of the significant pilgrimage site. While the TTD Board comprises 29 members, the proposed YTD will have 18 members. This includes a Chairman, nine other members, one member from the State Legislative Assembly or Council, one each from the Scheduled Castes (SC), Backward Classes (BC), and Women categories, and one member from the founder trustee family. Four ex officio members, including the Principal Secretary Revenue, the Commissioner of Endowments, and the Executive Officer of Yadagirigutta temple, will also sit on the board. The Board's tenure will be for two years, with members receiving no salary but entitled to Travelling Allowance and Dearness Allowance. Officials stated that the government would issue a formal notification for the trust board's formation once they receive a go ahead from higher authorities.

Agencies discuss mapping of drug trafficking routes & intelligence sharing
Hyderabad: During the first convergence meeting involving various anti-drug enforcement agencies in the country, held in Hyderabad on Thursday, it was decided to map drug trafficking routes and hotspot areas. "Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) for handling trans-border operations, coordination in unravelling financial trails and financial assets of major players in drug trafficking, and the mode of assistance in sharing advanced technology tools, including forensics available with respective agencies, were discussed," Shandilya stated. At the meeting, senior officials from Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Maharashtra, Goa, Karnataka, Kerala, Tamil Nadu, the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB), and the Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) participated. During this meeting, police shared details of the 250 accused wanted from various states of India with the concerned state police. The meeting was inaugurated by the in-charge Director General of Police, Jitender.
