But a peak of only 1.5m tuned in to watch the show's launch last week and then it scraped 1m on Monday.
Instead of July 14th's launch, more viewers - ironically - watched a rerun of Death In Paradise from series 11, which first aired in 2021.
The BBC's repeat of Ralf Little 's gentle crime drama drew in 1.8m during the same 9pm to 10pm time slot.
And BBC2' s stroll through the evolution of man, Human, attracted 1.6m.
Shark! fared no better this week either, when double - 2m - tuned in to BBC1's Fake or Fortune? antiques show.
Both weeks, the most watched show of the evening was Coronation Street, with 3.3m and 3m watching respectively.
It comes after David Tennant 's gameshow The Genius Game was branded an " expensive flop" after the £2.5m series drew an average audience of 661,000 by the end.
In the five-part show, seven brave celebrities spent several weeks taking to dangerous waters in an effort to overcome their fears and also deliver an ecological message.
The line-up also included comedians Ross Noble and Lucy Punch as well as McFly star Dougie Poynter and athlete Ade Adepitan.
In the early episodes viewers have watched Helen battle with her fear of the sea after a childhood incident at an aqua park left her scared of even entering the water.
Shark! Celebrity Infested Waters
The actress, who plays Trixie in Call The Midwife, found even being lowered into the depths in a cage too much and begged to be released.
Mum-of-two Helen, 41, said: 'I was terrified of putting my head underwater.
'I have a real deep-rooted fear.
'My kids know that I am scared of the water, and my seven-year-old is more confident in the water than I am, and I realised I've got to do something about that as it's not safe.'
ITV say after seven days the first episode has now been watched by 2.8m viewers and the series has been popular with 25-54 year olds.

ABC's controversial move to replace one of its most beloved stars with The Project's Hamish Macdonald backfires
The ABC's decision to sack Sarah Macdonald, one of its most beloved broadcasters, in favour of Hamish Macdonald, appears to have backfired. New ratings data released this week shows that Hamish, who took over Sarah's old Sydney Mornings slot on ABC Radio, is shedding listeners. The results from the fourth radio ratings survey show that since Hamish took over the show at the start of 2025, the program has been in steady decline. He scored a dismal 4.6 per cent of the audience in the ratings which surveyed the market between April 27 and July 5, a disappointing fall of 0.9 per cent. The result pales against Sarah's last survey in November, where she managed to score a solid 6.2 per cent of the market. From A-list scandals and red carpet mishaps to exclusive pictures and viral moments, subscribe to the DailyMail's new showbiz newsletter to stay in the loop. In other results, Kyle Sandilands and Jackie O Henderson had some good news, managing a strong showing in the Sydney region with 13.9 per cent of the audience share - a bump from the last survey's 12.5 per cent. Still, there was bad news for the Kyle and Jackie O Show in the Melbourne market, where their sexed-up breakfast has failed to win listeners in big numbers all year. This survey the pair scored a dismal 5.6 share of the audience in the Victorian capital. Back in Sydney, Smooth FM startled pundits after beating 2GB, the long time favourite with listeners, to the number spot. Smooth FM 95.3 won 12.3 per cent share overall to win 1.32 million listeners, while 2GB managed a rating of 11.6 per cent. 2GB's Ben Fordham is still the top-rating breakfast host, with a 14.7 per cent share of the available audience. It comes after Hamish was revealed as the new host of Sydney Mornings on ABC Radio back in January. He replaced Sarah Macdonald after she was unceremoniously dumped by the national broadcaster late last year. 2GB's Ben Fordham (pictured) is still the top-rating breakfast host Macdonald hosts the program four days a week while journalist Kathryn Robinson helms the show on Friday. 'First and foremost I'd like to pay tribute to the hard work and dedication of Sarah Macdonald,' Hamish said. 'I know these are big shoes to fill.' 'I'm looking forward to putting my head down, getting to work from Monday and serving the wonderful 702 audience in what will be a huge year of news for Sydney.' His reference to 702 is ABC Radio Sydney's wavelength on the dial. The departure of Sarah was accompanied by that of Simon Marnie, who was also told his contract would not be renewed, while Richard Glover and Robbie Buck both left their respective programs. Sarah Macdonald announced her 'disappointment' in departing from the ABC, telling her audience live on air that 'I'm not going to be on the radio with you next year. 'The ABC has decided not to renew my contract here at Mornings ... I am proud of what I've done. 'The ratings are up, I've broken lots of stories, had the first interview with the new Governor-General, I got the premier of New South Wales to regularly take your calls, led the election coverage, led the move to our Parramatta studios.'

BBC Death in Paradise detective reunites with Ralf Little as they return to beloved role
Death in Paradise will return tonight with a repeat episode of the BBC drama Death in Paradise favourite Josephine Jobert will grace television screens once more this evening in a repeat broadcast of the beloved BBC series. Josephine portrayed Detective Florence Cassell in the Caribbean-set police drama. Lucky in Love, the third episode of series 10, initially transmitted in 2021, will be screened at 9pm tonight on BBC One. The episode summary states: "It seems money doesn't buy happiness when lottery winner Cherry is found dead at her luxurious villa, much to the horror of her husband and their visiting friends," reports the Express. "As usual, Neville and the team are presented with a real head-scratcher when it turns out no one was in the house at the time - and the mystery deepens when the victim's body apparently vanishes into thin air." It concludes: "Meanwhile, JP is training unruly new officer Marlon, aware that his wife Rosey is due to give birth at any time." This marks another recent repeat showing, following last week's broadcast of episode two from series 10 on BBC One. Florence Cassell won't be the only familiar face returning to screens, as the programme's longest-serving detective, Neville Parker (Ralf Little), also features in the episode. Tobi Bakari returns as police officer JP Hooper, whilst Tahj Miles reprises trainee police officer Marlon Pryce. Following the episode's original transmission, Tobi, Tahj, Ralf, and Josephine have all departed the programme to pursue different ventures. Tobi became the first to exit in 2021 following the conclusion of series 10. Ralf and Josephine's departures came in series 13 after their characters sailed off into the sunset together following Neville's declaration of love to Florence. Tahj Miles also departed the programme at the conclusion of series 13. Ralf's role was swiftly filled by the island's fresh lead detective, Mervin Wilson, portrayed by Don Gilet. In an earlier chat with Hello! Josephine discussed her comeback to the programme in series 10 and confessed she was aware it wouldn't be permanent. "I already left in series eight, I thought it would be for good, honestly, I thought, 'I'm done,'" she revealed. "Then they asked me back for series ten as I was like, 'Hmmm, I don't know, okay, I'm going to do it.'". "But I knew it wouldn't be forever, I knew it. How long, I didn't know. I had an idea, but I wasn't sure." Death in Paradise airs tonight at 9pm on BBC One.
