But a peak of only 1.5m tuned in to watch the show's launch last week and then it scraped 1m on Monday.
Instead of July 14th's launch, more viewers - ironically - watched a rerun of Death In Paradise from series 11, which first aired in 2021.
The BBC's repeat of Ralf Little 's gentle crime drama drew in 1.8m during the same 9pm to 10pm time slot.
And BBC2' s stroll through the evolution of man, Human, attracted 1.6m.
Shark! fared no better this week either, when double - 2m - tuned in to BBC1's Fake or Fortune? antiques show.
Both weeks, the most watched show of the evening was Coronation Street, with 3.3m and 3m watching respectively.
It comes after David Tennant 's gameshow The Genius Game was branded an " expensive flop" after the £2.5m series drew an average audience of 661,000 by the end.
In the five-part show, seven brave celebrities spent several weeks taking to dangerous waters in an effort to overcome their fears and also deliver an ecological message.
The line-up also included comedians Ross Noble and Lucy Punch as well as McFly star Dougie Poynter and athlete Ade Adepitan.
In the early episodes viewers have watched Helen battle with her fear of the sea after a childhood incident at an aqua park left her scared of even entering the water.
Shark! Celebrity Infested Waters
The actress, who plays Trixie in Call The Midwife, found even being lowered into the depths in a cage too much and begged to be released.
Mum-of-two Helen, 41, said: 'I was terrified of putting my head underwater.
'I have a real deep-rooted fear.
'My kids know that I am scared of the water, and my seven-year-old is more confident in the water than I am, and I realised I've got to do something about that as it's not safe.'
ITV say after seven days the first episode has now been watched by 2.8m viewers and the series has been popular with 25-54 year olds.

Hollywood nepo baby is the spitting image of her heartthrob dad... but do you know who she is?
She's the daughter of one of Hollywood's most famous heartthrobs, and fans can't get over just how much she looks like him. Ella Bleu Travolta, 25, is the only daughter of Grease and Pulp Fiction star John Travolta, and her resemblance to her famous father has only grown more striking with age. From her piercing blue eyes to that signature Travolta smile, Ella is the spitting image of John during his leading man heyday. But Ella isn't just another celebrity nepo child riding on her parents' fame. She's carving out a career of her own in music, film and fashion. Born in April 2000 to John and the late actress Kelly Preston, Ella grew up in the spotlight alongside older brother Jett and younger brother Benjamin. Tragically, Jett passed away in 2009 following a seizure during a family holiday in the Bahamas. Ella started acting when she was just a kid, and she made her big screen debut in 2009's Old Dogs, starring opposite both her parents. She later appeared in The Poison Rose in 2019 and recently wrapped filming Get Lost, a modern-day reimagining of Alice in Wonderland. However, it's music where she seems to have really found her niche. In 2022, she released her debut single Dizzy, followed by tracks No Thank You and Little Bird. The latter song is a moving tribute to her mother, who passed away in 2020 after battling breast cancer. 'Little Bird is about holding onto those pure relationships that you have with people that you lost and really just listening to yourself and staying true to that relationship with that person,' Ella told People. 'It's sort of the viewpoint of a mama bird talking to a baby bird and just not letting any other interference get in between it, because your true instincts were there all along.' She continued: 'It had been a couple years, obviously, since my mom's passing, so I could look at the whole situation and take a step back from it and see what I wanted to communicate on it and what I wanted to communicate to her and what I was feeling in general.' She's also made waves in the fashion world, landing the cover of Hunger Magazine in 2024, wearing a vintage Chanel look previously worn by Taylor Swift at a Kansas City Chiefs game, per Page Six. Since then, Ella has been spotted in front rows at fashion week in Madrid and Milan, appearing alongside European royalty like Princess Diana's niece, Lady Kitty Spencer, and Princess Alexandra of Hanover, per Hola. Ella remains close with her dad as John often shares sweet birthday tributes and throwback videos with her on social media. In a recent birthday post, he called his daughter 'gracious, generous, funny, beautiful, kind, and deeply talented.' The actor also loves to celebrate Ella's accomplishments and often posts about her magazine covers and song releases.

Love Island fans predict the downfall of Dejon just one week before the final as Harry's brother and Meg's sister both reveal some home truths whilst his own family defend his actions
While Dejon may have been one of the favourites to win the show, viewers are convinced the family and friends episode may have marked his downfall. The Islanders were surprised by the arrival of their loved ones during Monday night's show, as the end of the series nears and all eyes are on the final. One particularly awkward exchange took place between Dejon and his girlfriend Meg's sister, who made no secret of her feeling towards their romance. This was coupled with Harry's brother sharing his own home truths about Dejon, while Dejon's family jumped to his defence over his villa antics. Meg was reunited with her mother Nathalie and older sister Paige earlier, whilst Dejon got to see his mum Demelza and his sister Gene in scenes that aired this evening. Meg's family had concerns over the relationship, Nathalie and Paige immediately grilled Meg's boyfriend Dejon. In awkward scenes, Meg defended Dejon as her mum and sister warned her that she 'lets him away with a lot', as well as branding him a 'player'. Paige also went on to call out how Dejon's recoupling speeches always follow the same pattern. Meg's sister Paige wanted answers, saying to Meg: 'You let him get away with a lot though, why?' Meg was very defensive, insisting that Dejon has stepped up as a partner after the pair went exclusive, then boyfriend and girlfriend. Elsewhere Dejon's mum Demelza had some thoughts for her son saying: 'In the beginning it was like you had verbal diarrhoea. 'No mother needs to hear about your threesomes and how much you looooooove sex. I just wanted to go, "Shut up!"' Dejon's mum added: 'You're a big flirt, didn't know that.' 'You lot just come in to cook me or what?' Dejon stiffly replied, before his sister Gene insisted: 'We've been watching you for the last how many weeks - you need this feedback!' However Dejon's family were generally supportive of his experience and even blamed other members of the villa for his behaviour. Sharing their thoughts on the episode, viewers said: 'Dejon getting called out by literally all the parents, inject it! #LoveIsland'; 'LOOOOL DEJON GOT ZERO RATINGS'; 'Dejon's family being just like him and not checking him on his behaviour to the other girls says everything tbh and instead blaming them'; 'Dejon getting found out by Meg and Harry's family'. Many others were relieved to see Meg's sister give him a piece of her mind after he spent the first few weeks entertaining other women. They said: 'Very glad Meg's sister told her what's what about Dejon! That's something at least. Will it make an impact? Doubt it. I'll be surprised if it does tho'; 'Meg's sister is saying the right things but Dejon's mum is enabling Dejon'; 'Only Meg's older sister has sense'; 'I wish we had Meg's sister in the villa'; 'Meg's sister is clocking but you can't save someone who don't wanna be saved'; 'I actually love the way Meg's sister is not ramping with either of them'; 'Not Meg's mum and sister warning her and Dejon's mother and sister praising him...'; 'Meg's sister clocking Dejon real bad! GET HIM AGAIN FOR ME!'; Many others were relieved to see Meg's sister give him a piece of her mind after he spent the first few weeks entertaining other women Others noted Harry's family warning him about Dejon talking behind his back. They said: 'I'm glad Harry's friend told him about Dejon because he's a snakey man'; 'Harry's family even bringing Dejon's stocks lower down is cracking me up'; "With mates, you crucify them in private and support them in public" This is exactly what the issue was with Dejon. He didn't call out his mate for his moves but instead laughed behind his back with the others'. 'Harry's fam doesn't like Dejon at all also Dejon being stone faced'.

Love Island stars JaNa Craig and Kenny Rodriguez break up just weeks after Beyond The Villa debut
Two people who seemed to have found their special someone on season six of Love Island have now gone their separate ways. Third place finalists JaNa Craig, 28, and Kenny Rodriguez, 25, were fan favorites and continued their relationship even after they finished their work on the reality show — until Sunday. The two were seen at YouTuber David Dobrik's birthday party on Saturday and all seemed well. 'There was no big, public blowout,' a source told People, after rumors spread that the couple had gotten into an argument at the party. 'That did not happen.' The insider said the breakup came on Sunday morning, stating, 'They will not be getting back together.' On Monday, Craig, an influencer, appeared to have unfollowed Rodriguez on Instagram. Fellow Love Island contestants Serena Page and Leah Kateb, along with their boyfriends Kordell Beckham and Miguel Harichi, quickly followed suit. Other alums, including Kaylor Martin and Liv Walker, also unfollowed Rodriguez, as did Connor Newsum, with whom Craig had a tense relationship on the show. The breakup comes just two weeks after Peacock began airing the spinoff series Love Island: Beyond The Villa. The show follows the season six contestants 'as they navigate new careers, evolving friendships, newfound fame, and complex relationships,' according to a press release for the show. Both Craig and Rodriguez have removed any photos of the other from their social media, although Rodriguez has yet to scrub a video clip teasing an episode of Beyond The Villa from his Instagram. Instead of bringing them together, the distance between the two may have contributed to the rift. Craig divides her time between Hawaii and Las Vegas, while Rodriguez, a digital creator, travels between Los Angeles and Dallas. 'That distance also helps the heart grow fonder,' Craig told People in October 2024. 'But it also doesn't put a lot of pressure on us to need to be with each other all the time. I kind of like it that we don't live in the same city right now,' he said, adding, 'Now that we're outside, we can take our time. It's not as fast.' On Beyond The Villa, the couple revealed they were living close to each other in Los Angeles, but not together. 'Since leaving the villa, it's a big jump moving in together with someone, and I didn't want it to be televised, especially the first time,' Rodriguez told Variety. 'So we rented rooms next to each other.' Craig has turned off comments on her Instagram, but Rodriguez hasn't, which led more than one fan of the show to ask, 'What did you do Kenny??' 'Did you cheat on my gurl???' asked another.
