British-Indian model and actress Karishma Kotak has suddenly found herself back in the spotlight and it is not for her professional endeavours. The former Bigg Boss 6 contestant started making headlines after she was proposed to on live TV by Harshit Tomar, co-owner of the World Championship of Legends (WCL). The unexpected proposal came during a live post-match broadcast at Edgbaston, right after the grand finale of WCL 2025. As the Internet revisits Karishma's journey, we take a look at a major moment from her career which has a Salman Khan connection.
Back in 2013, after Karishma rose to fame after her participation in Bigg Boss 6, she was reported to have auditioned for a role in Salman Khan's brother Sohail Khan's film, Mental. And guess what? It was speculated that Salman himself recommended her for the part. At that time, the film was being talked about as a big action entertainer that had many female stars in the running to grab the part, including Daisy Shah. However, Karishma was said to be a frontrunner.
Salman Khan Wanted To Launch Karishma Kotak
Salman Khan has always been known for launching fresh faces and giving new talent a chance, whether it is actors, singers or directors. Karishma Kotak made her debut as an actress with a Telugu film Shankar Dada Zindabad (2007). In the film, she was seen alongside Chiranjeevi. It is a remake of Rajkumar Hirani's Hindi movie Lage Raho Munna Bhai. Her last big screen appearance was last seen in the 2010 Telugu film Glamour. She also hosted shows like The Karishma Show, Spa Diaries and Its In.

In response, her mother slaps her and tells her to stay eventually locates the chawl and visits the family, only to be turned away. She pleads with them to share whatever proof they have that can prove Angad's innocence, but they Tulsi bumps into Vrinda and recognises her voice. She asks if Vrinda was the one who called her. Vrinda admits it but refuses to home, the family waits for Pari's boyfriend and his family, but he cancels at the last minute. He texts Pari saying he doesn't want to marry into a family surrounded by controversy. Pari breaks down and shows the message to Mihir and Tulsi, who are also equally they soon realise it's a blessing in disguise - deciding that if a boy can't stand by Pari during tough times, he doesn't deserve to be her life in the US, Nandini asks Karan to consider returning to India. When he says he has a business to run there, she reminds him that "Maa is there." She tells him that their life lacks meaning in the US, and it's important for their children to grow up around family, elders, and Indian and Mihir are left wondering how they can bring peace to their children's lives. The episode concludes by showing Angad's friend admitting to causing an accident. He says on camera that Angad lied before to save him. The promo for the next episode shows a dramatic turn - Angad promises his friend that he will help him get out, hinting that he implicated himself wrongly.
