Amazon Kindle Fire tablets shoppers 'use every day' slashed to £20 in 12-hour sale

Amazon Kindle Fire tablets shoppers 'use every day' slashed to £20 in 12-hour sale

Daily Record7 hours ago
Wowcher has slashed prices across a range of the reading devices.
Bargain hunters looking for a budget-friendly tablet are in luck, as Wowcher is currently offering Amazon Kindle Fire devices for as little as £19.99. However, this deal is only available for a very limited time and will expire at midnight tonight, Wednesday, August 20.
This means shoppers only have a few hours to take advantage of the offer. The Kindle Fire tablets on sale are refurbished models from a few years ago, with the most basic £19.99 version being the very first Kindle Fire tablet that Amazon launched back in 2011.
As expected, this older piece of technology doesn't quite match up to today's standards, but it can still serve as a dedicated eReader or a digital photo frame.
There are also some more recent devices available in the mix. For an additional tenner, shoppers can get their hands on a refurbished Kindle Fire 7 HD, which is a much more recent and powerful version of Amazon's popular tablet.
With a 7-inch HD screen, it's perfect for watching films or casual web browsing. However, Amazon's tablets are known for being slightly underpowered, so don't expect to be editing Hollywood films on this device - it's primarily intended for consumption rather than creation.
The devices on offer at Wowcher are all refurbished, meaning they've been previously owned and restored by professionals.
As such, they should be in full working order with a few cosmetic marks here and there, reports the Manchester Evening News.
Those preferring a fresh tablet can grab the most affordable model from Amazon's current Fire lineup, the HD 8, priced at £69.99. Android enthusiasts might fancy the Samsung A9, another sought-after device currently available for £77.99.
Examining customer feedback for these earlier Kindle Fire variants, owners from that era appeared genuinely impressed. Boasting 4.5 stars across the board, it garnered remarkably favourable reviews.
Tech deal of the week
Shoppers looking for a set of budget earbuds are in luck as Amazon has a set that shoppers say work 'as well as Apple Airpods.'
The Jxrev Wireless Earbuds usually retail for £24.99, but shoppers can now snap them up for £18.99 in a limited time deal.
Providing up to eight hours of playtime from a single charge, these earbuds will let users listen to their favourite tunes, audiobooks and podcasts uninterrupted for hours on end. When used with the charging case, this boosts up to 40 hours.
For those worried about losing battery in the middle of the day, the charging case also comes with an LED display so users know exactly how much battery is remaining.
On top of this, shoppers will get clear calls as the earbuds come with environmental noise cancellation which will cancel out or suppress background noise to make users sound clearer.
Many shoppers have raved over these earbuds, which currently have a 4.3 star rating.
One happy shopper said: "These fit brilliantly and once you know what taps to do and when; they are excellent quality, value, usability and size. Great delivery speed too.
"They fit my tiny ear canals brilliantly with no discomfort or problem using them. Easy to set up Bluetooth. They were 100 per cent charged which was greatly appreciated."

One satisfied customer said: "My recommendations for people buying a Kindle Fire: If you are looking for an e-reader with additional functions, if you want to read magazines on your e-reader, if you want to watch the occasional movie and play a game here and there, then the Fire is right for you."
A second reviewer states: "I got my Kindle Fire right when they were first released in 2011 - five years later I still use it every day, more than my iPad Mini."
Nevertheless, certain buyers encountered difficulties whilst using the device. "It was heavy and the resolution was not great. I liked the iPad mini or Samsung tablet much better as they can be used for reading as well as web-browsing," one shopper revealed.
Another review states: "I like this for reading books but it is horrible for Internet usage. There is a delay when you type and many pages don't load correctly.
"I got an iPad eight months after I bought my Kindle and now I wish I had never bought the Kindle."
However, another five-star reviewer commented: "I bought this for my 9-year-old daughter. It is amazing.
"She loves reading books and playing games. It isn't as expensive as an iPad but it has pretty much all the great features an iPad has."

Dyson Airwrap leaves hair looking 'better than ever' is cut by £120 in sale

The Dyson Airwrap i.d. Multi-Styler and Dryer is the latest version of the viral hair tool, and it's currently on sale for 25% off on Amazon, saving customers a huge £120 Unless you've been living under a rock, you'll have heard of the Dyson Airwrap. The viral hair styler was on nearly every Christmas wishlist last year. However, with a hefty price tag nearing £500, it's safe to say that this product is an investment. But Amazon shoppers are in luck, as the latest model of the viral styler is now a whopping £120 off. The Dyson Airwrap i.d. Multi-Styler and Dryer usually sells on Amazon for £479.99, but customers can currently grab one at a 25 per cent discount for £359.99, saving them £120. The new Airwrap i.d. is the latest version of the Dyson product, boasting several technological advancements to protect the hair while styling it effortlessly, reports the Daily Record. With six different attachments, the heated gadget can style the hair in a variety of ways using just one device. The curling attachments claim to adapt heat, airflow and timings to the user's hair type for faster and easier styling. It comes with a large volume-boosting brush that creates endless blow-out styles, as well as a smaller barrel for tighter curls and Bluetooth technology that connects to the Dyson App. 47 Skin's 'life-changing' skincare products for spot-prone teens are now 10% off L'Oreal anti-ageing skincare bundle with 'magic in a jar' cream is now £47 off Its multidirectional barrel can also wave and curl in both directions for unlimited styling possibilities. Those browsing alternative hair stylers may opt for the original Dyson Airwrap Origin for £399.99 on Argos. Beauty fans on a tighter budget may prefer the Shark FlexStyle 4-in-1 Multi-Styler and Hair Dryer for £199.99, also on Argos. However, customers are raving about the latest version of the Airwrap on Amazon, which has earned an impressive 4.3-star rating out of five. One thrilled shopper said: "The Dyson Airwrap took me a little time to figure out (thank you, TikTok tutorials!), but once I got the hang of it, I was hooked. This tool gives me that voluminous, bouncy hair - think Farrah Fawcett vibes - that I could never quite achieve with traditional curlers or blow dryers. "I love that it comes with so many different attachments, giving you tons of styling options in one tool. I've definitely noticed that the smaller curler holds the curls much better than the larger one, especially if you want that all-day look. "It's definitely an investment, but one that's 100 per cent worth it. I've cut down my hair routine by a solid 30 minutes, and my hair looks better than ever." Yet a less impressed shopper said: "Honestly, I am very disappointed. I purchased this on June 17th, and it's now August 8, and it does not work! "I will turn it on and it randomly shuts right off and then goes back on. It's so annoying and I can't do anything with it without shutting off. I paid so much for this to only work for a month." But another satisfied customer said: "I have no hair, so this feels like a very expensive leaf blower, however my partner thinks it is the best thing ever and her hair looks like she's come out of a salon every day. Over time she should know this is less damaging on hair than straighteners."

Despite this, a third five-star reviewer commented: "Brought to replace my fitbit versa 2, I am very impressed with this. I wanted time, steps & sleep but this has so much more. I am very happy with this purchase, lovely colour & comfortable too plus a lot cheaper than a fitbit." While a fifth customer wrote: "Awesome for the price!
