East Lothian Scottish Open 'not all golf' as KT Tunstall and Irvine Welsh take to stage
The Scottish Open in East Lothian 'won't be all golf' thanks to famous faces KT Tunstall and Irvine Welsh.
Tournament organisers are ensuring a huge week on and off the course, with a range of experiences planned for four days. In the Fan Zone, the highlight will be the return of Fringe by the Tee, a collaboration with the local Fringe by the Sea festival.
Grammy-nominated singer Tunstall will play a set on Saturday, June 12, with author-turned DJ Welsh cranking up the tunes on Friday night, reports the Daily Record.
As well as music, the Fringe by the Tee pop-up stage will offer something for everyone, including comedian Fred MacAulay, who will host daily entertainment daily slots. Families can catch the always-popular Alexander the Great, an award-winning entertainer delivering circus skills, party games, disco dancing, and plenty of magic for the kids.

Other highlights of the Fan Zone include Mini Golf and Long Putt experiences, raising money for The Renaissance Club Foundation, while fans can also buy a limited edition tartan range from J.Lindeberg, worn by ambassadors such as Viktor Hovland and Mathieu Pavon, and gain access to the J.L Clubhouse hospitality facility on the Sixth Hole by spending £100 or more in the Merchandise Store.
Fringe By The Tee Festival Director Rory Steel explained: 'We run Fringe By The Sea in North Berwick in August just down the road from where the golf takes place and, a couple of years back, we were asked to come down and have a look and it was an absolutely amazing opportunity to really help with the growth of what is an amazing event.
'We went away and had a good long think about who it is that are coming to the golf and how we can expand it beyond the core enthusiast, especially to the families who might not have a fleeting interest in the game itself.
'There are so many great things. Whether it is the Stephen Gallacher Foundation for ace pro tips, to the crazy golf course raising funds for Leuchie House, to the main stage where we can bring to life the fan zone with bands, DJs, comedy, kids shows and a whole golf bag full of fun.

'It's not just what is happening on the course, the track or the field at major sporting occasions now, it's what happens off the field, too. People are spending a not-insignificant sum to come along and, yes, the sport is the key to it all, but so is making sure there is something for everyone.
'Irvine Welsh doing a DJ set will be ace for Friday night's crowd followed by KT Tunstall for Saturday and having Scottish legends like that at the Genesis Scottish Open is all part of the appeal. They buy into it, too. They are invested and it shows how the event has grown in popularity and is going from strength to strength on and off the course.'

Seven times Glasgow stood in as setting for Hollywood blockbusters
Glasgow has become a popular filming location for major Hollywood productions. Glasgow has once again taken centre stage in a major Hollywood production, with filming for Spider-Man 4: Brand New Day currently under way in the city. Crowds have gathered to watch Hollywood superstar Tom Holland perform impressive stunts as Marvel's web-slinging hero, with parts of the city centre transformed into bustling New York streets. From gritty urban dramas to high-octane blockbusters, Glasgow has played host to an impressive line-up of films. The Batman (2022) DC's dark, atmospheric blockbuster made use of the gothic surroundings of Glasgow Necropolis, the Victorian cemetery that became a key setting thanks to its striking architecture. Starring Robert Pattinson in the title role, the film's moody visuals were a natural fit for the city's historic landmarks. Pattinson is set to return for a sequel in 2027, though it is not yet confirmed whether Glasgow will feature again. Tetris (2023) The story of Henk Rogers and his fight to secure the rights to the iconic video game brought a very different aesthetic to Glasgow. Set in the 1980s, the film saw parts of the city convincingly transformed into Soviet-era Moscow, with its architecture standing in for the Soviet Union. Welsh actor Taron Egerton played Rogers and, despite his moustache disguise, was quickly spotted by fans during filming. Churchill (2017) This historical drama saw Scottish actor Brian Cox portray Winston Churchill in the tense days leading up to the D-Day landings. Several scenes were shot around Scotland, including Glasgow's George Street, which doubled for wartime settings. 1917 (2019) Sam Mendes's award-winning First World War epic featured Glasgow's Govan Graving Docks, transformed through CGI into a canal. Inspired by the experiences of real-life soldiers, the film starred George MacKay and Dean-Charles Chapman and was acclaimed for its immersive cinematography and striking set design. World War Z (2013) Brad Pitt led the cast of this zombie blockbuster, which turned George Square into the streets of Philadelphia during an undead outbreak. Scots Masterchef star shares unique twist on tacos with tattie scones
Glasgow-born Masterchef Australia star Ali Stoner is delighting fans with creative Scottish-inspired recipes on her popular Instagram page, The Roving Haggis. A Glasgow -born chef who shot to fame on Masterchef Australia is winning over food lovers with her inventive takes on classic Scottish dishes, and her latest creation is causing a stir online. Ali Stoner, who appeared on the 14th series of the hit cooking competition, has built a devoted following for her imaginative recipes that celebrate Scotland's culinary heritage. Through her popular Instagram page, The Roving Haggis, she has attracted more than 270,000 followers, sharing dishes inspired by her home city and the wider country. Famed for her now-iconic 'Saltire Skirt', Stoner regularly puts a modern spin on traditional fare. This week, she unveiled her newest recipe for tattie scone tacos, which has quickly become a hit with fans. Speaking about the dish, she said: 'Tacos are on repeat in my house, and the trend for these smash tacos has been all over social media, so here is one with a Scottish accent! The tattie scones are a perfect vehicle for soft delicious tacos, and I just love the combo of scallops and black pudding, perfect!'
