Zandile 'Zee' Nxumalo is proving that Amapiano knows no borders.
Born in Swaziland, also known as Eswatini, and raised in the South African township of Alexandra, the 24-year-old Amapiano singer-songwriter has just notched another major milestone by becoming the first South African artist to grace the cover of Romania's popular Spotify playlist, 'Dance toată ziua' (Dance All Day).
Her infectious new single In & Out, a vibrant collaboration with Romanian pop artist Raluka and producer Millforlife, leads the playlist and is already making waves with over 14 800 playlist saves — a feat that signals her growing global influence.
The achievement marks a defining moment in Zee's career. Not only does it represent her first music placement in Romania, but also her official Eastern European debut, following a string of local and continental wins.
'This run has been a dream,' Zee told The Citizen.
'Being on a Spotify cover in Romania, hosting the KCAs, collaborating with Raluka — these are all moments I've prayed for. I'm just a girl from Alex making music that moves people, and now I get to take that energy around the world.'

Before catching the ears of European audiences, Zee Nxumalo was already carving a name for herself in South Africa's fiercely competitive music scene.
Her breakout hits Pholile 2.0, Abangani, and the sultry 'Yini' not only topped local charts but also cemented her reputation as one of Amapiano's most exciting new voices. She brings a unique blend of vocal soulfulness and vibrant stage energy that resonates with both club-goers and casual listeners.
Her Amapiano remix of the SpongeBob SquarePants theme song went viral earlier this year, racking up millions of views and sparking an unexpected wave of international media attention.

The 2025 O'Neill Ballito Bowl Skate Jam delivered an electrifying showcase of South African skateboarding talent on Saturday. Cape Town's Thalente Biyela (31) and Ballito local Ezra Vosloo (14) claimed top honors in their respective divisions. 'It was great seeing all the young new talent coming up. Seeing the progression from the past few events is absolutely mind-blowing. 'Competing alongside some of the younger girls just made it an all-around incredible experience. I'm so stoked to have been a part of it all. Looking forward to next year,' he added. As well as winning the Groms U16 division and best trick, Vosloo finished third in the Open division. 'I've worked really hard for this, skating as much as I can. It has been a goal of mine for a while to be placed in the top three with all the legendary South African skaters,' he said. Valjalo competed in the 2020 and 2024 Summer Olympics, the World Skate Championships and the World Cup Series. He won the African Championship title at Ultimate X in 2017, crediting his street skating ability for winning the trick competition. 'I incorporated one of the street obstacles into the bowl and came through with a kickflip manual, all the way around and dropped down 50 into the bowl for the first trick,' he said. Sithole's passing comes as he was preparing to act out Athol Fugard's play, titled 'Boesman and Lena'. South African actor Wiseman Sithole has died, prompting a flood of tributes to the 51-year-old, who many remember from his work on shows like Suidooster and Summertide. 'It is with the greatest sadness that we share the shattering news of Wiseman Sithole's sudden passing. We are honoured to have worked alongside this legend of an actor,' read a statement from his agency, Emma Ress Management (ERM), confirming his passing. ERM said it would communicate details concerning his funeral and memorial service, upon his family's instruction.
