Lokesh appeals to Telugu diaspora to invest in Andhra Pradesh and contribute to its growth
Participating in a meeting of the Telugu Diaspora from South-East Asia organised by the A.P. Non-Resident Telugu Society (APNRTS) and the A.P. Economic Development Board (APEDB) in Singapore on Sunday, Mr. Lokesh said A.P. was destroyed during the YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) rule, and the present NDA Government was rebuilding the State amidst heavy odds under the leadership of Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, whose reputation was a big advantage.
He highlighted the investment opportunities in A.P., and asserted that the APEDB would extend the necessary hand-holding to Telugu entrepreneurs coming forward to partner with the government of their home State.
He said A.P. was following Singapore as a role model in implementing new policies, with focus on 'speed-of-doing business' and it needed the cooperation of the Telugu people in realising Mr. Naidu's vision.
'A.P. has over 1,000 km of coastline, a string of seaports and airports, highways, waterways, land, and connectivity, which make it an ideal place to invest. Also, the State has a rich talent pool,' he said.
'One capital — decentralised development' was the coalition government's slogan, in tune with which industries were being promoted in all the regions of the State, and due priority was given to the Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises (MSME), Mr. Lokesh added.

Highlighting the need for resilient supply chain infrastructure, Lokesh proposed that Carrier collaborate with the Andhra Pradesh government to establish Cold Chain Logistics Hubs in Tier-2 and Tier-3 cities for agricultural produce, pharmaceuticals, and food preservation. The Minister also briefed Mr. Bhatia on the policies, incentives, and infrastructure available for hyperscale data centre development in fast-growing tech hubs like Visakhapatnam, encouraging Carrier to explore opportunities in this domain. In response, Mr. Bhatia noted that Carrier is among the top three HVAC players in India and expressed interest in Andhra Pradesh's proposals. He assured that the company would discuss the initiatives with its senior team and respond positively. Minister Nara Lokesh urges Airbus to set up MRO hub in Andhra to boost operations
VIJAYAWADA: HRD, IT and Electronics Minister Nara Lokesh met Airbus Asia Pacific President Anand Stanley in Singapore to explore collaboration opportunities for establishing a Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul (MRO) hub in the State. During the meeting, Lokesh highlighted the growing demand for aviation services in India and neighbouring countries, including Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Nepal, Bhutan and Southeast Asian markets. He noted that India, where more than 850 Airbus aircraft are in operation, represents a major captive market for MRO services. Lokesh pitched Andhra Pradesh as an ideal location for a dedicated Airbus MRO hub in South Asia. India is Airbus's fastest-growing market, with projections estimating a need for 1,750 aircraft over the next two decades. Narrow-body A320 family aircraft, which constitute 65–70% of India's fleet, will drive this growth. He said the proposed facility would cut ferry times and operational costs for Indian airlines while improving aircraft availability. It could also cater to regional airlines from neighbouring countries. He assured Airbus that the State is ready to develop a full-fledged MRO ecosystem aligned with global standards. He invited Airbus officials to visit Andhra Pradesh and assess the infrastructure firsthand.

Lokesh invites ST Telemedia to establish Green Energy Data Centre in Visakhapatnam
In a bid to accelerate Andhra Pradesh's digital infrastructure ambitions, Andhra Pradesh Minister for Education, IT, and Electronics, Nara Lokesh met Reetu Mehlawat, Head of ST Telemedia Investments (India), during his official visit to Singapore on Tuesday (July 29, 2025). ST Telemedia, headquartered in Singapore, is a strategic investment company with a global portfolio across communications, media, data centres, and infrastructure technologies. During the meeting, Mr. Lokesh urged the company to establish a Green Energy-Powered Data Center in Visakhapatnam, which is being developed as a dedicated Data City in Andhra Pradesh. He invited ST Telemedia to collaborate with the state government in building a robust and sustainable data infrastructure ecosystem, drawing inspiration from successful models in Uttar Pradesh and beyond. Mr. Lokesh emphasised the State's readiness to support high-end computing infrastructure, resource optimisation, and environmentally sustainable operations. He said such initiatives would not only attract global investments but also position Andhra Pradesh as a leader in green digital innovation. Responding to the proposal, Ms. Reetu Mehlawat stated that ST Telemedia currently operates 30 data centres across 10 major Indian cities, supporting a critical IT load of 311 megawatts. She added that the company plans to expand its capacity in India to 550 megawatts in the near future. Ms. Reetu Mehlawat assured that Andhra Pradesh's proposal would be presented to the company's senior leadership for further evaluation and a decision would be taken after detailed discussions.
