Rams president Kevin Demoff roasts 49ers podcaster who tried to troll LA for HQ plans
Imagine the insecurity you must have to jump into a post about another team's practice facility plans… https://t.co/YqHaQ2KE1Y pic.twitter.com/oZklmqTWrO — Kevin Demoff (@kdemoff) April 6, 2025
The Los Angeles Rams made a big announcement on Sunday, unveiling their plans for a state-of-the-art facility in Woodland Hills. It's a massive $10 billion project that's being set in motion by owner Stan Kroenke, which will not only be home to the Rams' headquarters, but also residential, retail and entertainment space across 100 acres.
It was an exciting reveal for the team, but a 49ers podcaster decided to infiltrate L.A.'s announcement with a joke that's been made too many times. When team president Kevin Demoff shared renderings of the project, a 49ers fan responded with a photo of red jerseys at SoFi Stadium and said '75% of the building should be filled by other NFL teams just like SOFI.'
Demoff didn't let Chapman rain on the Rams' parade, replying to his post with a GIF of Aaron Donald celebrating after LA's win over the 49ers in the NFC title game three years ago and the following message.
Based on the replies to Demoff's tweet, Rams fans sure did appreciate the team president burying the 49ers podcaster.
Well done, Mr. Demoff.

Mac Jones embraces fresh start with 49ers after getting passed over in 2021 NFL Draft
Mac Jones is happy finally to be with coach Kyle Shanahan and the San Francisco 49ers even if it came four years after many expected. Jones was linked to San Francisco leading into the 2021 draft but was passed over and ended up in New England. Now after an up and down first four years in the NFL, Jones is trying to revive his career as a backup to Brock Purdy in Shanahan's offense. "Obviously the world works in mysterious ways," Jones said Wednesday. "I'm glad to be back here and learning from a great group of guys, and that's players and coaches. You go where you go in the draft, right? You don't get a lot of choice over that, but I'm definitely excited to be here now." Jones and San Francisco were closely linked leading up to the 2021 draft after the Niners traded three first-round picks to get the No. 3 overall selection. Shanahan was looking to draft a franchise quarterback and was debating between Jones and Trey Lance before San Francisco finally opted for Lance. Matthew Huang/Icon Sportswire via Getty Images The move backfired as Lance struggled to stay healthy and adjust to Shanahan's system. He made only four starts in two seasons before being traded to Dallas for a fourth-round pick in August 2023, having lost the starting job to Purdy, the last pick in the 2022 draft. Jones had a fast start to his career, helping New England make the playoffs in his rookie season. But Jones regressed the next year after offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels left for Las Vegas, and he was replaced as the starter in 2023. Jones was traded to Jacksonville last March and started seven games for the Jaguars, throwing eight TD passes and eight interceptions. Jones has made 49 career starts, posting an 84.9 passer rating with 54 TD passes, 44 interceptions and averaging 6.7 yards per attempt. He said he didn't hesitate to pick San Francisco in his first shot at free agency and has hopes a stint as a backup here can spark his career in a similar fashion to what happened to Sam Darnold after he spent the 2023 season with the Niners. "I always love watching their tape," Jones said. "When you look at stats around the league, they're always in the top five, you see the little San Francisco logo. So I always love watching what Kyle did throughout the years and to finally get in and learn it, it's been a little bit challenging, but also a great challenge because it's things, some things I've done and some things I haven't done at all." Jones has had a different play caller every season in the NFL and said learning another new offense is like "drinking from a water hose." Quarterbacks coach Mick Lombardi said that experience pays dividends this spring. "He's not new to this," Lombardi said. "He's not new to kind of new terminology new footwork and how to be coached differently. The one thing I love about Mac is he's always here. He's always willing to try new try new things. He's not stuck in his ways, and he really wants to try and do it our way." Lombardi and Jones have familiarity with Lombardi serving as receivers coach in New England when Jones was a rookie in 2021. Jones and Purdy have a relationship that goes even further, with Jones hosting Purdy on a recruiting visit to Alabama in 2018 and the two have thrown together in the offseason near Jacksonville before Jones signed with San Francisco. "We talked about that and joked around with it a little bit, just him being at Alabama and really before he took off too with his career and the amazing, obviously the National Championship run he had and then getting drafted and everything," Purdy said. "It's pretty cool. We were both just young kids both heading into college and then now here we are on the same team. It's pretty cool."

Looking back, PFF thinks Rams should have taken different QB in 2016 NFL Draft
Looking back, PFF thinks Rams should have taken different QB in 2016 NFL Draft One of the biggest moves of the Los Angeles Rams' franchise came in 2016 when the team traded up to the No. 1 overall pick. At the time, it was expected that either Cal's Jared Goff or North Dakota State's Carson Wentz would be taken first. The Rams took Goff, who had a solid career with the team before being used as a trade chip to acquire Matthew Stafford five years later. It's easy to look back at previous NFL drafts and make new picks based on future information. And Pro Football Focus' Dalton Wasserman re-drafted the No. 1 overall picks from the past 19 drafts. For 2016, he picked Dak Prescott over Goff. "The Rams traded a king's ransom for the opportunity to select Jared Goff with the first pick in 2016, but had they known what Dak Prescott would become, they may have opted for him as their franchise quarterback instead," Wasserman wrote. "Prescott's 87.8 career PFF passing grade outpaces Goff's 82.5 mark. He has also provided significantly more value on the ground than Goff, accruing an 80.9 PFF rushing grade so far in his career." This analysis is all well and good, but while Goff isn't the Rams quarterback anymore, he played a huge role in the acquisition of the quarterback who delivered a Super Bowl — Stafford. Would Prescott have been able to win where Goff could not? Maybe. Or would the team have been able to trade Prescott for Stafford, given Prescott's skillset? We'll never know, but the Rams' path led to a Super Bowl win in the end. The issue now, is, how long will Stafford remain?

NFL analyst thinks this scenario would be a 'nightmare season' for the Rams
NFL analyst thinks this scenario would be a 'nightmare season' for the Rams What would be the worst-case scenario for the Los Angeles Rams' 2025 NFL season? An early playoff exit? No playoffs? A mid-season retirement for Matthew Stafford? It's impossible to know this early in the summer, but Bleacher Report's Brad Gagnon went through the "nightmare season" scenarios for each NFL team. For the Rams, though, the situation didn't see that dire. "As with last year, the veteran core performs just well enough to delay a needed rebuild for a team that is not Super Bowl-caliber," he wrote." Basically, the Rams don't do enough to make the Super Bowl but aren't bad enough to tear everything down in 2026. This is effectively what Les Snead and Sean McVay are trying to avoid in 2025 after keeping Stafford and adding Davante Adams to offense. Fortunately for L.A., Snead prepared for the potential of another mid-round playoff loss by acquiring a second first-round pick in 2026. So even if the Rams aren't awful enough for a high pick and even if Stafford leaves, L.A. has the firepower to make a major move with their draft capital to keep the team afloat. It helps, too, that they have a nice young corps on offense and defense as a stable base for any rookie quarterback or veteran.
