Real Men OTT Release Date: When and where to watch Letizia Lamartire & Matteo Oleotto's Italian comedy series
Real Men OTT Release Date: Life, love, and masculinity - what happens when four old friends try to figure it all out in their forties? That's exactly what the upcoming Italian comedy series Real Men (Maschi Veri) dives into, with plenty of laughs, awkward truths, and heartfelt moments along the way. The series is set to release globally on Netflix starting May 21, 2025.
What is Real Men all about?
Real Men follows the lives of Mattia, Massimo, Riccardo, and Luigi - four long-time friends exploring relationships, careers, and what it means to be a 'man' in today's world. As they enter middle age, the rules they once lived by no longer seem to apply. From gender equality to modern dating and fatherhood, they must face their own biases and insecurities, learning how to be better partners, friends, and human beings.
The journey is often hilarious. Whether they're fumbling through parenting, trying to impress their kids, or keeping up with younger colleagues at work, these four men show that it's never too late to grow up—or at least try to.
Meet the cast and crew of Real Men
The series stars Maurizio Lastrico as Massimo, Matteo Martari as Mattia, Francesco Montanari as Riccardo and Pietro Sermonti as Luigi. Directed by Letizia Lamartirea and Matteo Oleotto, Real Men was filmed in some of Europe's most beautiful locations, with most of the scenes shot in Rome, Italy, and even Vatican City.
While the feel-good comedy is light-hearted, the themes hit home. The eight-episode show reflects on how men are redefining themselves in today's world - learning to listen, be vulnerable, and understand fairness in relationships. It's not preachy. It's just honest, often silly, and refreshingly human. Sounds exciting?
