Commanders Franchise QB Jayden Daniels Secret Weapon Revealed
For the first five seasons of his career with the Washington Commanders, Terry McLaurin had multiple quarterback changes from year-to-year.
Despite the lack of stability, McLaurin continued to put up impressive numbers for the Commanders offense. It all changed once Jayden Daniels was drafted by the organization last year.

With the arrival of the Offensive Rookie of the Year, McLaurin put up All-Pro numbers with a career-high 13 touchdowns last season. He also got the first taste of playoff football as well.
As the duo continues to grow together, McLaurin believes the sky is the limit for both him and his quarterback.
'The way I saw Jayden grow leaps and bounds last year, honestly, we all knew the type of competitor he was when he first got here. He's an extremely smart player and he's very charismatic,' McLaurin said of Daniels via WUSA9.
'But you've got to see his competitive edge out there on Sundays and the way he just, again, was able to get better week in and week out and put his best foot forward. And again, I think it's just his competitive nature, where you feel like you got a chance to make big plays with the ball in his hands. So I'm just looking forward to growing with him.'

Texans QB C.J. Stroud (shoulder) limited at OTAs
Texans quarterback C.J. Stroud did not throw at Houston's organized team activities Tuesday as he deals with minor shoulder tightness, according to multiple reports. Texans offensive coordinator Nick Caley recently said that he is not bothered by Stroud's lack of passing reps. "Yeah, he's locked in every step of the way. No concerns whatsoever," Caley told reporters Friday. "Everybody has a specific routine relative to their own routine, specific to whatever. Whether it's football, whether it's athletic training, et cetera, and he's doing a great job and he's out here and he's working." Stroud, 23, is entering his third season. He crafted an impressive debut season with a passer rating of 100.8 and 4,108 yards, both the third-best in NFL history for a rookie. He was the first Texans player to win Offensive Rookie of the Year honors. Last season, Stroud came back down to earth a bit. His yards per game dropped from 273.9 in 2023 to 219.2 in 2024, and his interception total jumped from five to 12. In two seasons with the Texans, Stroud is 19-13 with 43 touchdowns, 7,835 yards and a 93.7 passer rating. Texans QB C.J. Stroud misses another OTA practice, DeMeco Ryans explains Another update has come down from headquarters surrounding Houston Texans quarterback C.J. Stroud entering Week 2 of organized team activities. Texans head coach DeMeco Ryans said that Stroud is currently dealing with 'general soreness' in his throwing shoulder, but maintained that he's not concerned that the issue will affect him moving forward. When asked for a timetable of his return, Ryans again said it was just "general soreness." 'We're taking extra precautions with him,' Ryans said in his press conference on Tuesday. 'But he'll be good to go. No concerns on my end.' Stroud, who could be up for a new contract following this season, hasn't thrown since the start of OTAs. While he hasn't missed practice and has been in meetings, the 2023 Offensive Rookie of the Year has yet to run full drills in new offensive coordinator Nick Caley's system. 'Whenever he's ready to go, he'll be ready,' Ryans said, addressing Stroud's issue. Former starter and veteran backup Davis Mills has been running with the runs, while second-year passer Kedon Slovis has spent the majority of reps with the second- and thrid teams. While Stroud played in all 17 games last season, he was also sacked 54 times. That's enough of a concern following last year's divisional round loss to ponder if he was dealing with an issue entering the offseason. Ryans did not specifiy if Stroud underwent any procedures during his offseason ahead of drills. No one, for now, seems to be concerned on his role. Caley said last week that the passer remains attentive in drills. On Tuesday, veteran receiver Christian Kirk mentioned the two have built a rapport off the field while he's been limited. 'If he sees a guy make a mistake or feels like they could do it better, he's going up to them and coaching," Kirk said. That's big for a quarterback going into his third season. That's stuff that you see from guys who have been in the league even longer.' While the Texans expect Stroud back by training camp, no one seems to be hitting the panic button yet. 'I know that when it's time for us to get rolling, he's going to hop in there and just keep elevating us as an offense,' Kirk said. The Texans will have several practices closed to the media this week and return in front of their eyes next Tuesday.
