What is Luka Doncic's status for Slovenia's friendly match on Tuesday?
Los Angeles Lakers fans experienced a real scare on Saturday when Luka Doncic, the team's new franchise player, collided with one of his teammates during a friendly match with the Slovenian national team in advance of EuroBasket 2025. Doncic appeared to suffer a knee injury, and he was forced to leave the game. Fortunately, he was diagnosed with a mere knee contusion, and it was reported that the ailment wasn't thought to be serious. Doncic was expected to participate in practice on Monday, and it was determined that he's good to go. Therefore, the Slovenian national team announced on X (formerly Twitter) that he will play in the team's next friendly on Tuesday versus Great Britain (translated into English). "myteam ready for tomorrow's match against Great Britain at Stožice Arena at 8 PM. "The captain, Luka Dončić, will also play in the match!" Before suffering his injury scare on Saturday, Doncic had poured in 26 points and five assists in the first half of that contest versus Latvia. After Tuesday, Slovenia will have one more friendly on Thursday against Serbia. It will then kick off its official EuroBasket schedule on Aug. 28 by taking on Poland.

Notre Dame football has elected six captains for the 2025 season
With fall camp officially over and Notre Dame now getting started with its season preparations, it was time for the captains to be named which happened on Monday afternoon. The Irish players and coaches have selected linebacker Drayk Bowen, defensive tackle Donovan Hinish, wide receiver Will Pauling, guard Billy Schrauth, safety Adon Shuler, offensive tackle Aamil Wagner. It says a lot to me about Pauling getting named a captain, as he has been with the team for just a few months. It seems like his leadership and work ethic have stood out to his teammates, and that he has earned the full trust of each of them along with the coaching staff. Bowen's selection isn't surprising at all, as he was already viewed as one of the leaders on defense, but the pick of Hinish is a bit. He's played a good amount last year, and the Hinish legacy is there, but it didn't seem like he was going to get the nod. It's a very good surprise that he was named a captain. Schrauth, like Bowen, makes plenty of sense, and it's great to see Shuler getting the nod as well. He's expected to play a huge role in Notre Dame's defense this fall. Wagner was the second offensive lineman picked, as we should be seeing another great year of OL play from the Irish. The Irish have multiple great leaders on their team, and while each of these six will wear the C on their chest, it doesn't mean that there aren't others on this team that could have been selected. Congrats to the six, as they are cementing their Notre Dame legacy's.
