"Will fight for state's welfare under KCR's leadership": BRS leader Madhusudhana Chary on Telangana Statehood Day
Hyderabad (Telangana) [India], June 2 (ANI): Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) leader S Madhusudhana Chary recalled the long struggle led by BRS chief K Chandrasekhar Rao for the formation of Telangana on the occasion of its statehood day.
He said the BRS, under the leadership of K Chandrasekhar Rao, will continue to fight for the welfare of the people and hold the ruling party accountable for its unfulfilled promises.
Speaking to ANI, Madhusudhana Chary said, 'The TRS, under the leadership of K Chandrasekhar Rao, fought for 14 long years to get Telangana statehood. KCR played a key role in pressuring the Centre and uniting all political parties, which finally led to the formation of Telangana on June 2, 2014. He became the first Chief Minister and made Telangana a model state with top rankings in per capita income, power usage, and development. But after we lost power in December 2023, the Congress government brought the state into a miserable condition. In my 40 years of politics, I have never seen such a bad government. They have failed to deliver even a single promise. We, under KCR's leadership, will fight for the state's welfare and demand that the Congress government fulfil its promises.'
Earlier in the day, Prime Minister Narendra Modi extended greetings for Telangana Statehood Day.
He noted the state's contribution to the nation and wished the people 'success and prosperity'.
In a post on X, PM Modi said, 'Greetings to the wonderful people of Telangana on their Statehood Day. The state is known for making innumerable contributions to national progress.'
The Prime Minister said that the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) government in the Centre has boosted 'Ease of Living' in the state.
'Over the last decade, the NDA Government has undertaken many measures to boost 'Ease of Living' for the people of the state. May the people of the state be blessed with success and prosperity,' PM Modi posted. (ANI)

New Delhi [India], June 7 (ANI): Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai met Prime Minister Narendra Modi in New Delhi on Friday. During the meeting, he presented the changing face of Bastar, highlighting peace and development initiatives, and also briefed the Prime Minister about the recently held Su-Shasan Tihar (Good Governance Festival) in Chhattisgarh. During his visit to Delhi, the Chief Minister also called on Union Home Minister Amit Shah at his residence, where they discussed key issues, including state development and anti-Naxal operations. The Chief Minister stated that Bastar, once known for guns and landmines, is now witnessing the rise of mobile towers -- not just as tools of communication, but as symbols of progress and trust. He informed that in the past one and a half years, the state government has established 64 new forward security camps in the region. These camps have not only enhanced the sense of safety in nearby villages but have also brought mobile network connectivity to previously remote areas. A total of 671 mobile towers have been activated so far, with 365 of them providing 4G services. This marks the beginning of a digital revolution in tribal regions. 'Today, these mobile towers signify more than just connectivity,' the Chief Minister said. 'They represent a future where children and youth in Bastar are now part of the digital world. Where earlier they had to travel to cities to prepare for exams or access education, now the same opportunities are available in their own villages through online platforms. Young people in Bastar are shaping their own futures using smartphones,' he said. He also highlighted that villages around these security camps are now receiving basic amenities like electricity, drinking water, healthcare, and education. Under the Niyad Nellanar scheme, 18 community services and 25 government welfare schemes are being implemented simultaneously in 146 identified villages. The Chief Minister briefed the Prime Minister on the success of Su-Shasan Tihar, during which hundreds of grievance redressal camps were organised. From MPs to MLAs, public representatives directly visited villages to address people's concerns. At these camps, citizens received services such as ration cards, Aadhaar updates, pensions, health check-ups, school admissions, Ayushman cards, PM Awas, and Ujjwala gas connections -- all under one roof. CM Sai also presented a detailed account of Chhattisgarh's initiatives and innovations in the field of water conservation. He emphasised that the state is working in mission mode to tackle water scarcity, combining community participation with technological interventions at every level. The Chief Minister informed the Prime Minister that due to changing climate patterns, the number of rainy days in Chhattisgarh has reduced from around 100 to just 65 annually. In response, the state has launched a unique initiative titled 'Water Conservation Initiative - Chhattisgarh's Model for a Secure Future'. As part of this model, innovative water-saving methods are being adopted in villages. Where rainwater earlier flowed away, efforts are now being made to capture and store it. Technologies like GIS mapping and the Jaldoot mobile app are being used to identify critical areas in need of water infrastructure. Most significantly, women are playing a central role in this campaign. Women's groups are actively involved in cleaning and deepening ponds, reviving traditional water bodies, and promoting water stewardship in their communities. This collective effort is helping ensure clean and sufficient water in rural areas. Chief Minister Sai also informed the Prime Minister about the Nalanda Campus -- India's first 24x7 hybrid public library. Built at a cost of Rs 18 crore, the campus includes an e-library, youth tower, health zone, and solar-powered infrastructure. Over 11,000 students have benefited so far, with more than 300 successfully clearing UPSC and CGPSC exams. He also shared details about the Prayas model, which provides free coaching to underprivileged and tribal students for national-level exams such as IIT-JEE, NEET, and CLAT. So far, 1,508 students from this initiative have secured admission in prestigious institutions across India. Prime Minister Narendra Modi appreciated the Chief Minister's efforts and assured full support from the Central Government for Chhattisgarh's development journey. (ANI)

Mukesh Ambani donates Rs 151 crore to his alma mater, Institute of Chemical Technology, Mumbai
Mumbai (Maharashtra) [India], June 7 (ANI): Mukesh Ambani, Chairman and Managing Director, Reliance Industries announced an unconditional grant of Rs 151 crore to the Institute of Chemical Technology, Mumbai, from where he graduated in the 1970s. Ambani spent over three hours on Friday at the institute (ICT), which back then was called the University Department of Chemical Technology (UDCT). He was there to attend the function to publish Professor MM Sharma's biography titled 'Divine Scientist'. He also reminisced how the first lecture he attended at UDCT by Professor Sharma motivated him and how Prof. Sharma later played a role of quiet architect of India's economic reforms. Prof. Sharma impressed upon the policymakers that the only way for India to grow was to unshackle Indian industry from license-permit-raj which will allow Indian players to build scale, reduce dependence on imports and compete globally. 'Like my father Dhirubhai Ambani, he had a burning desire to change Indian industry from scarcity to global leadership,' said Ambani. He further added, 'These two bold visionaries believed that science and technology, in alliance with private entrepreneurship, would open the floodgates of prosperity.' Crediting the rise of Indian chemical industry to Prof Sharma's efforts, Ambani in his speech also referred him as 'a Rashtra Guru - a Guru of Bharat'. When speaking of 'Guru Dakshina', Ambani announced the unconditional grant of Rs 151 crore to ICT according to the instructions of Prof. Sharma. 'When he tells us something, we just listen. We don't think. He told me 'Mukesh you have to do something big for ICT, and I am very pleased to announce that for Prof Sharma,' Ambani said while referring to the grant. (ANI)

The goal is to make Telangana a 1 trillion USD economy: CM Revanth Reddy
Hyderabad (Telangana) [India], June 7 (ANI): Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy stated that his goal is to fulfil the dreams and aspirations of the people of Telangana and make the state a 'One Trillion US dollar' economy. CM Reddy was speaking at an event on Friday, where he laid the foundation stones for development works worth Rs 1051.45 crores in Alair Assembly Constituency. The Chief Minister maintained that everyone is equal before the law. Big leaders have appeared in the courts and deposed before the commissions. He came down heavily on BRS leaders for criticising the government for giving the leader a single notice. He demanded KCR answer the questions raised by his daughter. Reiterating that the government is committed to making one crore women millionaires, the CM said the opposition was making a hue and cry without any reason. 'Is it not true that the Rs 2 lakh loan was waived and farmers are relieved from mounting debt burdens? The Chief Minister lambasted the opposition for making allegations against the government on the Paddy procurement. The government enacted a law to provide 42 cent reservation to the BCs by conducting a caste census and made it inevitable for the central government to conduct the caste census across the country. We also fulfilled the dream of decades of struggle on SC subcategorisation,' Reddy said. Listing out the welfare and development programs launched by the Congress government, CM Revanth Reddy said that the Young India Skills University is providing skill development to unemployed youth. Further, the CM said that free RTC bus travel is provided to women and cooking gas cylinders at only Rs 500. 'Is it not true that Rs. 21,000 crores of bank linkage loans were given to women Self Help Groups? Is it not true that women's groups are given the responsibility of the management of Amma Adarsha schools?' the CM questioned. The CM took a swipe at the opposition for questioning the government on water supply. It was the Congress government that constructed the SRSP and Mid Manair dams. ' We are aware of how to supply water to Gandamalla'. The Chief Minister affirmed that the People's Government was formed with the blessings of Lord Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy in Yadagirigutta, and the government decided to constitute the Yadagirigutta Temple Development Board on the lines of Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam ( TTD). Announcing that a medical college will be developed on par with a university under the auspices of Yadagirigutta temple, the CM said that he had made the promise of cleansing the Musi river during his Padayatra on November 8. He reiterated that the Government is committed to rejuvenating Musi despite facing obstacles. PM Modi can clean the Sabarmati and Ganga rivers, but shouldn't we clean the Musi? Do our Nalgonda children have to live in the filth of Musi?. The CM said the government will move forward against all odds and revive the Musi river. The land of Nalgonda is synonymous with consciousness and it has a history of fighting against the Nizam's tyranny. Revanth Reddy warned that Nalgonda people will not sit calmly if anyone spreads false propaganda against the government. The Nalgonda district got a raw deal in the previous BRS government. Not a single project, including the SLBC, was taken up for the last 10 years. The Chief Minister recounted the incidents that happened during KCR's visit to Vasalamarri village. One old woman was hospitalised after consuming a fruit offered by KCR, and also demolished the houses in the village. He instructed the officials to take up development works in the abandoned village. The CM also recalled his statement that he would dethrone the BRS government and made it in the assembly elections. ' I knocked down the previous government and assumed the CM office, he said, adding that he has no more desires and ambitions and his only goal remains to make Telangana a role model for the country.
