Sky hands out huge freebie Samsung's newest mobile

Retailers are already trumping Samsung's own deal on its newest Galaxy S25 Edge mobile - here's two retailers offering better deals with huge freebies
Earlier this week Samsung took shoppers by surprise with its newest mobile, the Galaxy S25 Edge. An model to its existing 2025 S range it is thinner, lighter, and branded as an 'egineering feat' by industry experts. Despite the success from the brand, we've found a retailer trumping its price.
Sky Mobile is beating Samsung's price by throwing in a pair of £219 Buds3Pro for shoppers when they buy. All while offering the exact same free storage offer that Samsung has on its site.
Sky shoppers can buy the S25 Edge from £40 a month, which will tie them into a 36-month contract, with no upfront cost. And in line with a popular pre-order deal the bigger 512GB S25 Edge can be ordered for the same price as the 256GB one - with data added as an extra fee.
This matches Samsung's free storage offer too where the 512GB S25 Edge is on sale for £1,099 opposed to its £1,199 price, although this has since sold out at the Galaxy Store. Making Sky a fit when it comes to stock, not to mention the free Buds3 Pro earphones.

Product Description
Another retailer on our radar is Mobiles.co.uk as it offers the new Galaxy model with the same storage offer and options to get money off with trade-in, depending on the network data plan shoppers pick. Another option for consumers who'd prefer to split the cost over a few years instead of paying the total cost at once.
Another retailer is Amazon, which states the Galaxy S25 Edge will be 'released on May 29.' It's also matching Samsung's £1,099 price on the 512GB model - an option to go for now that Samsung has seemingly sold out.
Shoppers who buy the Samsung model from Sky will get the £219 accessory for £0, but there is a list of requirements to stick to. Shoppers need to purchase the model between May 13 and May 29 (the date the free storage offer ends, too) to get the buds added to their order.
This doesn't appear in shoppers' baskets, but Sky says it will 'automatically appear in order confirmations'. The Buds3 Pro will be shipped out along with shoppers' new S25 Edge handset. For shoppers buying more than one Galaxy S25 Edge, it's worth noting that only one free accessory will be sent out per order.
Another thing to mention for Sky shoppers is its contract length, which is long at 36 months. Despite looking like a 24-month contract (in bold letters on the site) this is only the period when customers can swap their device, not when the contract ends - a feature which could catch some shoppers out.
Original S25 drops by £200 amid launch
Launching at £1,199, the S25 Edge is certainly one of the more expensive models to buy, a lot more than the S25 starting price of £799. Which is why the brand's previous Galaxy S25 could be of more interest.
The newest S25 Edge model's only downside (so far) is its smaller battery, which has less oomph than the standard S25 range despite being more expensive. However, it does feature the same speedy processor.
For non Android fans there's always the newer Apple model to consider too - the iPhone 16e. Which can be bought at Sky Mobile, Amazon, or O2.

Despite this, the total cost of the plan over the contract term is £702.76, which is cheaper than buying the phone directly from Samsung and Amazon, which offer it for £799 and £751 respectively. Those opting for the S25+ can consider iD Mobile's £39.99 per month plan with £79 upfront, while the S25 Ultra costs £44.99 per month and £119 upfront Bear in mind that the smartwatch and earbuds are dispatched separately from the tablet and will be sent to the address provided during the checkout process. Great choice of phones and contracts at the best prices I could find after a comprehensive search of a large number of alternatives. "Clear communication, and my phone was delivered on the day and time it was stated by the company. Everything about the experience was good." However, not all feedback was so positive, as this customer said: "Requested my number to be changed, which never did and had to phone iD Mobile to put in a new request. The simplest of things so giving three stars. Rest of the service was good." Meanwhile, another rave five-star review said: "Such a simple and super quick process to upgrade to a new phone. Had an issue online but called the call centre and was resolved by a lovely and helpful lady, the new phone arrived the next day. They were cheaper than the network provider themselves."

Samsung issues important free UK Galaxy upgrade - check your smartphone now

A worrying trend to continues to affect UK smartphone owners but Samsung hopes it latest update will stop it. UK smartphone owners continue to be at risk from a hugely worrying trend that's sweeping across Britain. Phone theft is growing at an alarming rate, with users targeted by thieves who often snatch the device right out of their hands as they walk along the street. It's a lucrative business for criminals, and it's only getting worse. Recent stats from the Met Police have confirmed that over 70,000 Londoners alone had a device snatched last year. That equates to about 192 victims every single day. Along with the financial implication of losing a device, there's also the emotional cost. Our phones are filled with personal data, private photos, banking details and more - losing these can be hugely distressing. ‌ With phone theft now a hot topic, Samsung says it is trying to help by offering several important security features. ‌ Explaining more, the Korean company said: "Samsung is today encouraging smartphone users across the UK to enable and update the latest anti-theft features available on Samsung Galaxy devices." One of the most important things to check - if you own a latest Galaxy device - is Theft Protection. Samsung boasts that this function offers a multi-layered suite of features developed to safeguard personal data, even in high-risk situations such as robbery. Once activated, Theft Protection offers features such as "Theft Detection Lock". This uses machine learning to detect motions associated with theft, such as snatching - if that happens, it automatically locks the screen. "Offline Device Lock" is also included, which automatically locks the screen if the device is disconnected from the network for an extended period, and there's "Remote Lock". This does exactly what it says on the tin, with users able to lock the device even if it's no longer in their possession. And these upgrades aren't the only way to keep things safe. ‌ Samsung has recently confirmed the release of two new security updates, including Identity Check. When in unfamiliar locations, the 'Safe Places' feature requires biometric authentication for any changes to sensitive security settings, adding an additional layer of protection when a PIN may have been compromised. Another bonus is Security Delay. If a robber attempts to reset biometric data, a one-hour delay immediately gets activated before any changes take effect. This crucial buffer gives Samsung customers time to lock the stolen phone from a connected device, such as a PC or tablet, before unauthorised access can occur. 'Our recent One UI 7 update built further on existing protections with new anti-theft features such as identity check, biometric authentication and security delay, all featured in our latest Galaxy S25 series," said Annika Bizon, Mobile Experience (MX) VP of Product and Marketing, UK&I at Samsung "These features have now also been rolled out into a range of models across our devices and further updates will follow. We must do everything we can to ensure the safety and security of our customers when they are using their mobile devices and we will continue to work hard to ensure our customers are aware of the wide range of security features available to them.' So, who can get these features? Samsung has confirmed that these updates are available on the Galaxy S25. They are also becoming available on previous flagship devices, starting with the Galaxy S24 series, Galaxy Z Fold6, Z Flip6, Z Fold5, Z Flip 5, S23 and S22 series currently, with future updates planned for even more Galaxy smartphones.
