Leandro Trossard urges Arsenal to bounce back and win trophies next season
Arsenal's final game against Southampton at St Mary's Stadium is an effective dead-rubber with their Champions League qualification already secured and a third consecutive second-placed finish all but certain.
Mikel Arteta's players started the campaign hoping to land their first league title in two decades, and claim their first silverware since they lifted the FA Cup in 2020.
But the Gunners failed to launch a significant challenge to Liverpool in the league, and they were eliminated in the semi-final stages of both the Champions League and Carabao Cup.
However, Trossard, who is Arsenal's sole outfield player to take part in every Premier League fixture this season, said: 'I think you can speak as much as you want about this campaign, but it's over now.
'So from next season we start fresh and for everyone it's a new opportunity.
'It's the same for us, and hopefully with everything we've had to go through this season, injury-wise and a couple of other things, we can start in a good manner next season. We want to win everything, whatever is possible.'
Fortune has not favoured Arsenal this season with Martin Odegaard, Bukayo Saka, Kai Havertz, Gabriel Jesus and defender Gabriel all sidelined through injury for sustained periods.
And Trossard, who is understood to be in talks over extending his current deal which is due to expire in 2027, continued: 'The small margins make a difference.
'I don't want to talk about luck, but in one way you need things to go your way as well in certain games. Sometimes you need to force your luck by just keep pushing and pushing and that's what we are trying to do.
'Every year we're closer and closer, and that's what we need to do next year. We need to keep pushing and push each other towards that – that's the only way you can go for silverware. But let's finish the season strongly first, then we can have a good feeling going into the off-season.'

Viktor Gyokeres ‘tells Sporting he'll never play for club again and ready to go on strike' to force Man Utd transfer
VIKTOR GYOKERES has threatened to go on strike in order to force a summer transfer, according to reports. The Sporting CP striker has been linked with several clubs, including Manchester United and Arsenal. 1 Gyokeres is said to have come to a gentleman's agreement with Sporting chiefs last September, with club bigwigs reportedly claiming that he could leave this summer for a fee in the region of £60million, including bonuses. According to Portuguese paper Record, the Swede has been left frustrated by Sporting's desire to now charge around £70m. They add that Gyokeres has insisted that he will never play for Sporting again, such is his determination to leave this summer. The former Coventry striker has reportedly told club chiefs that he would be willing to go on strike in order to get his move. Gyokeres has three years remaining on his Sporting contract. His buy-out clause is believed to be in the region of £85m.

Darwin Nunez makes Liverpool transfer exit decision after £60m offer rejected
Liverpool are keen to find a buyer for Darwin Nunez in the summer transfer window, but the Uruguay international could dictate his own future after Florian Wirtz arrives Liverpool may have to find a new buyer for Darwin Nunez, with the Uruguay international not keen on a move to Saudi Arabia at this stage in his career. Liverpool want to sell Nunez in the summer transfer window in part to help fund the club-record deal for Florian Wirtz, but face a few obstacles. The Reds are still in negotiations with Bayer Leverkusen over the structure of a deal for Wirtz. Their latest offer, submitted on Friday, consisted of £100million plus £14m in add-ons. Both sides are still confident the transfer will go through and Liverpool are looking at ways to raise funds. The sale of Nunez represents one of the best ways to do so, with the 25-year-old still having three years on his contract. He struggled for regular game time under Arne Slot last season, starting just eight Premier League games, and has hinted that he would like to leave this summer. Nunez is Liverpool's record signing, having joined from Benfica in June 2022 for £85m, made up of £64m plus add-ons, and the club are keen to recoup as much of that as possible. The Athletic reports that the club rejected an offer of €70m (£60m) from Al-Nassr in January, but have now fielded more interest from Saudi Arabia. Liverpool were reportedly contacted by Al-Hilal on Monday and would be keen to do business. However, Nunez is understood to favour staying in Europe, with a move to Spain or Italy his preference. The Uruguay international has been linked with Atletico Madrid, as well as Italian champions Napoli. It remains to be seen whether either of those clubs step up their reported interest in Nunez, who has contributed 40 goals and 26 assists in 143 games for Liverpool over the past three seasons. Earlier in the season, Slot was forced to respond to suggestions that Nunez had been benched for financial reasons, with Liverpool reportedly trying to avoid triggering a further payment to Benfica of around £4.2m.
