There may be no stronger bond in the Steelers organization right now than that of Mike Tomlin and Aaron Rodgers — but that doesn't mean coaching the 20-year veteran is a walk in the park. At Steelers training camp, NFL Network's Kyle Brandt sat down with Tomlin for a quick one-on-one interview, discussing a variety of topics with the longtime head coach — but one question stood out above the rest: what is the challenge in coaching Rodgers? "'Cause he's seen it and done it all," Tomlin said. "Everything's a re-run. And it's my job to make sure that he's engaged, that he's having fun, that the things that attracted him to the game 20 years ago still resonate with him — that he feels it, in this environment, today." Rodgers admitted earlier this year that he was heavily considering retirement — but recently told Brandt that his connection with Tomlin and the personal talks they shared played a huge role in his decision to join Pittsburgh. If Rodgers leads the offense to the promised land in 2025 — ending the almost nine-year playoff win drought in the process — Tomlin will undoubtedly deserve more credit for bringing the four-time MVP to the Steel City. Bills training camp schedule this week: Practice times for each session at St. John Fisher
St. John Fisher University will host three practices this week as he Buffalo Bills continue their preparation for the regular season. This year's two weeks of training camp started July 23 and will run through Aug. 7. The Bills will conduct their annual Return of the Blue and Red practice at Highmark Stadium on Friday, Aug. 1 at 5:30 p.m. before returning to St. John Fisher for their final three practices there. The Bills' practices are held primarily on the grass field at the Polisseni Complex which is behind Growney Stadium. There is grandstand seating on the near side, and bleacher seating on the far side, plus ample areas to stand. All practice times are subject to change. Bills' newest WR abruptly retires before playing a game in Buffalo
The Buffalo Bills just signed a new wide receiver earlier this week. But it turns out he won't be playing for the Bills, or any NFL team, after all. On Saturday, Buffalo placed David White on the reserve/retired list. The 25-year old pass catcher is stepping away from football. White was an undrafted rookie in 2024 who had spent his college career at Valdosta State and then Western Carolina. He signed with the Jaguars out of college, but he tore his ACL in OTAs and never got to suit up for the Jags. The Bills signed White on July 22, but he had retired by July 26. The 6-foot-4, 200-pound receiver out of Jacksonville always looked the part. White did make it to Bills training camp before retiring. He's pictured signing autographs for fans in one photograph from earlier in the week. But, whether for injury or a different reason, White's NFL career now appears abruptly over.
