While nothing has been confirmed by the club, L'Équipe reported on Saturday that the Marseille-born coach had reached an agreement to coach the Saudi club until June 2027.

Galtier has been looking for work since leaving Qatari club Al-Duhali SC in May, having guided them to the 2024-25 Qatari Stars Cup. The Frenchman won two Ligue 1 titles as a manager, coaching Lille OSC to the trophy in 2020-21 and Paris Saint-Germain in 2022-23, his only season in charge of Les Parisiens.
At Neom, Galtier will find prolific Ligue 1 goalscorer Alexandre Lacazette (34), who parted ways with Olympique Lyonnais earlier this summer, moving the the Saudi Pro League – a deal expected to be confirmed in the coming days.
The club based in Tabuk were promoted to the Saudi Pro League at the end of last season, finishing first in the Saudi First Division.

Darwin Nunez makes the most of Saudi switch as Liverpool awaits Alexander Isak resolution
Former Liverpool striker Darwin Nunez is already taking well to life in Saudi Arabia. The mercurial Uruguayan forward has scored in consecutive friendlies for his new side Al-Hillal after securing a €53 million ($62 million) move from the Reds in July. Nunez scored 40 goals in 143 games for Liverpool, but often underperformed from his expected goals tally and struggled for confidence in front of goal. His transfer comes amid speculation that the Reds are pursuing Newcastle forward Alexander Isak. The Swedish international is still under contract with the Tyneside club, but Italian football journalist Fabrizio Romano reported that Isak has "no intention" to play for Newcastle this weekend. READ MORE: Alexander Isak could be given transfer lifeline thanks to PSG READ MORE: Liverpool transfer news LIVE: Alexander Isak latest, Luis Diaz talks, Harvey Elliott admission "Alexander Isak's plans remain clear: no intention to be part of the squad against Aston Villa, same against Liverpool next week," Romano wrote. "Isak keeps rejecting new deal approaches as his clear desire remains to join Liverpool asap." Nunez didn't necessarily score against the stiffest competition: his goals came against FC Aarau (a second-tier Swiss side) and SV Waldhof Mannheim (a German third-tier side) in 6-0 and 3-2 wins, respectively. Nunez's goal against Waldhof Mannheim was the third in quick succession (33rd minute) after fullbacks Theo Hernandez (21st) and Joao Cancelo (25th) found the net a minute before. The Uruguayan finds himself in an Al-Hillal side loaded with talent, including Salem Al-Dawsari, Ruben Neves, Bono, Malcom, Kalidou Koulibaly, Hernandez, and Cancelo. His exit from Liverpool was bittersweet, as Nunez often teased the potential that made former manager Jurgen Klopp sign him from Benfica for an initial £64 million in 2022. Mohammed Salah posted an emotional message for his teammate on X. 'I consider myself lucky to have had you as a teammate and friend," the Egyptian wrote. You made us laugh and showed heart in everything you did. You will be missed, and I wish you the best in your new club.' The club also sent Nunez off with a message. "The Uruguayan's three-year spell with the Reds concludes after he finalised a switch to the Saudi Pro League side today," it read. "Everybody at the club would like to thank Darwin for his contributions and wish him and his family all the best for the future."

'Remarkable' €50m transfer could be the unexpected highlight of Chelsea's summer
The most explosive news of last weekend came from nowhere when it was revealed by top sources like Fabrizio Romano that Joao Felix was going to Saudi Arabia to join Al Nassr for a huge fee. Until then there had been very little interest in Felix. His old team Benfica seemed to be the only ones interested, and they were ready to sit tight and low-ball us until the deadline. Then from nowhere, the Saudis came in with a huge bid. 'Remarkable' bid saves Chelsea's bacon in disaster transfer Joao Felix watches from the sidelines. (Photo by) They discussed this on the London is Blue podcast, trying to make sense of it all. 'He's going to Saudi Arabia. The immediate fee is going to be €30m with a heavy sell on clause and add ons… Chelsea feel they have a guaranteed fee of €50m minimum for Joao Felix,' Dan Dormer said. But as they also pointed out, the fact that it ended well for us doesn't mean it wasn't a mistake to bring Felix back in the first place: 'It's remarkable business. It's a move that had to be done for Chelsea. He obviously was not going to play for the club again. It was a terrible transfer, and it has now kind of been remedied,' was co-presenter Nick Verlaney's take. You can see their discussion in the clip embedded here: Felix affair feels like it's full of secrets This whole Felix affair has something fishy about it – from the loan that finished a year before we signed him, to the relation to the Conor Gallagher to Atletico Madrid sale, to the bizarrely large fee we're getting for him from Al Nassr. It feels like there's more going on than meets the eye – we just hope we get to find out more, one day.
