BMW F 450 GS latest spy shots reveal production-ready design: What to expect?

The BMW F 450 GS will be positioned as the company's entry-level adventure tourer in India, and the motorcycle is now nearing production. The latest spy shots from the Austria-based Motorrad Magazin offer a good look at the upcoming ADV featuring a production-ready guise that is nearly identical to the concept model previewed at EICMA 2024 in Italy and Auto Expo 2025 in India. On entering production, the F 450 GS will be made in India in collaboration with the TVS Motor Company. The F 450 GS adventure tourer has been spied testing a few times over the past year, with one heavily camouflaged test mule caught on the move in Karnataka. The latest spy shots paint a better picture of what we can expect. While the production-ready model carries a few changes over the F 450 GS Concept, it retains the overall silhouette. The quad-LED DRL setup with the GS badge has been replaced with a conventional, vertically stacked dual-LED headlamp, and there is a tall visor for added touring comfort. The aggressive tank and side panel design have been carried over from the concept model. Although the front-end has been revised, its design still echoes the influence of the flagship BMW R 1300 GS. The big change, however, is the tail section, which gets broader with a new rear subframe to accommodate a pillion seat. The exhaust features the same twin-pipe design, but the muffler has been lowered, possibly to accommodate additional equipment. This motor can make 48 bhp and is tuned for strong low-end torque output, making it suitable for technical off-road riding as well as city and highway use. BMW Motorrad says the new engine has a unique ignition offset, which is expected to deliver a high-revving, yet tractable powerband. The upcoming tourer is underpinned by a steel bridge trellis frame and a bolt-on rear sub-frame and features an aluminium swing-arm with a central spring strut. It is equipped with upside-down front forks and a rear monoshock. The front forks will feature some degree of adjustability, but the production-ready version loses a bit of suspension travel at both ends when compared to the concept model. The F 450 GS allows for a relaxed riding posture with high-set handlebars and footpegs positioned neutrally. It rides on 19-inch front and 17-inch rear cast aluminium alloys, but BMW is expected to offer wire-spoked rims wrapped in tubeless tyres at launch. BMW F 450 GS: Expected features BMW has fitted the F 450 GS with a 6.5-inch TFT cluster that allows for smartphone connectivity via Bluetooth for media controls and navigation (Motorrad Magazin) The F 450 GS will come equipped with a 6.5-inch TFT instrument display that offers full Bluetooth connectivity. This unit enables smartphone connectivity for call and message notifications, media playback control, and turn-by-turn navigation. The adventure tourer will further feature lean-sensitive ABS, enhancing safety during cornering, along with three riding modes that can be freely configured based on the rider's terrain and performance preferences. Another expected highlight is the addition of a semi-automatic transmission system that will relieve riders of having to operate the clutch while changing gears. While not much is known about this, it is expected to be offered as an option. In the global markets, it will fill the gap between the G 310 GS and the F 800 GS. The F 450 GS is expected to be unveiled soon, with a market launch by the end of 2025. While official pricing details are not available, the motorcycle is expected to be launched in multiple variants, offering varying levels of rider aids and accessories. The expected price for the BMW F 450 GS ranges between ₹4 lakh to ₹4.5 lakh (ex-showroom). Check out Upcoming Bikes In India. First Published Date:

Sony Bravia Theatre Bar 6 review: Spatial sound, punchy bass, clear vocals

Sony recently launched the Bravia Theatre Bar 6 in India — a 3.1.2 channel soundbar system designed for home use — priced at Rs 54,990. Although positioned as a mid-range offering within the Japanese electronics maker's soundbar portfolio, the system leans towards the company's more premium products in terms of configuration, soundstage, and features. As mentioned, it is a 3.1.2 channel system comprising three front-facing audio drivers, including a centre channel, and two top-firing audio drivers for vertical lift, along with a dedicated wireless subwoofer. Sony Bravia Theatre Bar 6: Sync with Bravia As a Sony product, the Bravia Theatre Bar 6 offers features exclusive to Bravia smart televisions, such as the 'Sync with Bravia' function. This integrates the soundbar's controls into the television's quick settings menu for easy access, eliminating the need for a second remote (supplied with the soundbar) or the companion smartphone app (more on it later in the review). Sony Bravia Theatre Bar 6: Setting up Like most soundbar systems, this one is intended to be placed beneath the television either on a tabletop or mounted on a wall. For tabletop setups, Sony provides an additional pair of elevated grips to accommodate TVs with leg-style stands. While not all televisions feature flat legs, for those that do, this inclusion is particularly useful. It is important to note that the soundbar should be installed in a location without obstructions above it, such as a cabinet, as this would interfere with the vertical sound projection. The wireless subwoofer may be placed anywhere within the room; even at a distance of up to 10 feet, its performance remains consistent and free from latency. Sony Bravia Theatre Bar 6: Connectivity Once in place, the soundbar connects to the TV via the supplied HDMI cable. Although Bluetooth (v5.3) is available for wireless connectivity, the optimal experience is achieved through HDMI. A notable omission is Wi-Fi connectivity, which would have enabled support for Apple AirPlay and Google Chromecast. Similarly, the lack of support for Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant is felt, as their inclusion could have enhanced the system's suitability for smart home integration and voice control functionality. Nevertheless, the soundbar supports both Audio Return Channel (ARC) and Enhanced Audio Return Channel (eARC) via HDMI. However, it is essential to verify that your television supports either of these technologies, or you risk missing out on the full sound quality that the system can deliver. Sony Bravia Theatre Bar 6: Companion app The Bravia Connect companion app is available for both iPhone and Android devices via the App Store and Google Play, respectively. Although not mandatory, the app plays a key role in configuring the soundbar according to room specifications. During the initial setup, the app requests Bluetooth access to detect and pair with the soundbar and subwoofer. Once detected, the app automatically pairs both components. In the event of a pairing failure, it provides step-by-step troubleshooting guidance. Upon successful connection, the app enables tuning of the soundbar and subwoofer according to the room layout — allowing users to input distances from the seating position and vertical travel in feet. These manual settings allow for fine-tuning, which some users may prefer over automated systems; however, the option for automatic soundstage calibration based on room acoustics would have been a valuable inclusion. After setup, the app displays a minimal homepage with key information presented upfront. A dropdown menu at the top allows users to select the connection type — TV or Bluetooth — and shows the current configuration (2-channel, 5.1-channel, Dolby Atmos, etc.) based on content type. Below that, as illustrated in the screenshot, are controls to activate modes, adjust volume and bass levels, select audio sources, and access advanced settings. Sony Bravia Connect app: Screenshots Sony Bravia Theatre Bar 6: Performance In its default mode, which uses Sony's vertical sound field, the soundbar produces expansive audio with pronounced bass. The best experience is delivered with Dolby Atmos, Dolby Digital, and DTS:X content, which broaden the soundstage by extending side channels and utilising vertical channels for spatial immersion. While the soundstage is impressive, it is tuned for clarity and depth rather than sheer loudness. It suffices for a cinematic viewing experience but may not fully satisfy users seeking strong audio output for music or voice-focused content. Fortunately, the soundstage can be manually adjusted to Dolby or DTS:X via the app. Additional controls allow for bass adjustment, voice enhancement, and night mode activation. Verdict The Sony Bravia Theatre Bar 6 delivers a well-balanced home audio experience with its spacious soundstage, pronounced bass, and clear dialogue output. While it lacks some features such as Wi-Fi connectivity and built-in voice assistants, it compensates with solid core performance and Bravia TV integration. The companion app adds meaningful value through manual tuning options, although an automatic room calibration feature would have enhanced convenience. Overall, this soundbar system stands out for its clarity-focused sound tuning and effective spatial audio delivery, making it well suited for cinematic-like content consumption at home.

Should you stop using wireless headphones? Why Kamala Harris warns against them

Former US Vice President Kamala Harris, during her appearance on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, warned against using wireless headphones due to security risks. Notably, Bluetooth transmits data through the air within a limited range, making it more vulnerable to nearby threats. The Democrat leader said she only used wired earphones to take calls and shared her reason for avoiding wireless technology. ALSO READ | Why has Trump critic Stephen Colbert's hit 'The Late Show' been cancelled? Last month, India's cybersecurity agency, the Computer Emergency Response Team (CERT-In), issued a high-severity alert for Bluetooth audio device users. The agency pointed out several security weaknesses in these gadgets. STORY CONTINUES BELOW THIS AD Should you stop using wireless headphones? What is the problem? Here's a look: Why Kamala Harris warned against using wireless headphones Kamala Harris appeared on a TV show where she was shown some never-before-seen photos from her new book, 107 Days. While talking about one of the photos, she said she received hundreds of calls from friends and well-wishers after Joe Biden announced he was stepping away from the presidential race. She said she only used wired earphones to take the calls and explained why she avoids wireless technology. OOPS! KAMALA JUST ADMITTED YOUR AIRPODS CAN SPY ON YOU 'I served on the Senate Intelligence Committee… I've been in classified briefings.' She says Bluetooth isn't secure and people can listen in. They know. They've always known. — HustleBitch (@HustleBitch_) August 1, 2025 'I served on the Senate Intelligence Committee. I have been in classified briefings,' she said. 'Don't be on the train using your earpods, thinking somebody can't listen to your conversation. I'm telling you, the [wired earphones] are a bit more secure,' she added. Notably, in her famous 'We did it, Joe' call to Joe Biden after their 2020 win against Donald Trump, Harris was seen holding a pair of wired headphones in one hand. STORY CONTINUES BELOW THIS AD The Democrat leader said she only used wired earphones to take calls. Reuters/File Photo In 2021, Politico reported on Harris' choice of headphones, saying she 'has long felt that Bluetooth headphones are a security risk' and 'insists on using wired headphones' because of it, according to three anonymous former campaign aides. What's the problem with Bluetooth headphones? Security architect and certified ethical hacker Maril Vernon told HuffPost that Bluetooth sends data through the air within a certain range, which naturally makes it more open to nearby threats. She said Harris was being 'intelligent' by choosing to use wired headphones. If Harris had used Bluetooth headphones, there would have been a higher risk of someone listening in on her calls through a hacked connection, Kevin Johnson, CEO of consultancy firm Secure Ideas, told the publication. ALSO READ | Cleaning your keyboard, mouse and smartphone? Here's what you need to know A recent alert issued by security researchers, including Dennis Heinze, a security analyst and researcher at ERNW, pointed out multiple Bluetooth-related security flaws. These affect audio devices, including those from well-known brands that use Airoha Systems on a Chip. Bluetooth sends data through the air within a certain range. Pixabay/Representational Image Heinze told Forbes that Airoha is 'a large supplier in the Bluetooth audio space, especially in the area of True Wireless Stereo (TWS) earbuds'. STORY CONTINUES BELOW THIS AD He said that in many cases, these flaws allow attackers to completely take over the headphones via Bluetooth. They could access and change data in the device's RAM and flash memory, and even 'hijack established trust relationships with other devices, such as the phone paired to the headphones'. What did CERT-In say? In July, India's cybersecurity agency, the Indian Computer Emergency Response Team (CERT-In), issued a high-severity warning for users of Bluetooth audio devices. The agency said several security flaws had been found in Airoha Bluetooth firmware. These could let attackers gain unauthorised access to devices such as the Sony WH-1000XM5, JBL Live Buds 3, Bose QuietComfort Earbuds, and Marshall Motif II. 'The vulnerabilities exist in Airoha Systems-on-Chip (SoCs) due to missing authentication in the GATT service and the Bluetooth Basic Rate/Enhanced Data Rate (BR/EDR) component, as well as a flaw in a custom protocol,' it said in the warning. It further said, 'An attacker could exploit these vulnerabilities by establishing connections between mobile devices and audio Bluetooth devices and by delivering commands via the Bluetooth Hands-Free Profile (HFP).' The agency warned that attackers could listen in on or interfere with audio communications, and could also intercept or send commands on the affected system. STORY CONTINUES BELOW THIS AD Should you stop using wireless headphones? The actual risk for most users remains low. According to a Forbes report, there is little reason to worry unless you are a journalist, diplomat, political dissident, work in a sensitive field, or are under surveillance. These groups are the most likely targets. Heinze advised that everyone should update their firmware as soon as an update is released. Kamala said she only used wired earphones to take the calls. Pixabay/Representational Image In the meantime, people who are more at risk might want to avoid using their headphones until a patch becomes available. 'Please ensure that you also remove the pairing between the headphones and your mobile phone,' Heinze added. The good news is that most users can continue using their wireless headphones safely if they take a few simple steps. Cybersecurity experts told HuffPost they also follow some basic habits to stay safe when using Bluetooth in public: Don't keep your Bluetooth on all the time Check regularly which devices are paired Use the latest Bluetooth versions and install updates Make your device harder to recognise by changing its name
