Steelers defense dominates Aaron Rodgers-led offense at Friday Night Lights Practice

The action couldn't be hotter at the Steelers annual Friday Night Lights Practice at Latrobe Memorial Stadium — but the offense looked ice cold during the seven-shots drill of the day, courtesy of a fiery Pittsburgh defense. On the first attempt of the drill, Aaron Rodgers attempted a pass to DK Metcalf but Darius Slay was there in coverage to cause the play to backfire — defense moved up 1-0. Rookie RB Kaleb Johnson attempted a run from shotgun on the next attempt, but was held up by LB Payton Wilson — putting the defense ahead 2-0. On the third play, Rodgers threw a pass towards Pat Freiermuth, but Slay broke up the pass — resulting in the defense furthering their lead to 3-0. Mason Rudolph would take over at quarterback and attempt a pass to Scotty Miller — but the wideout couldn't get his feet down and it resulted in a defensive win of 4-0. The drill continued despite the strong defensive statement, resulting in three straight offensive scores: one from Johnson and two from QB Will Howard to RB Kenneth Gainwell and TE Kevin Folesch. The damage was already done, however, as the defense was up 4-3 at the conclusion of seven-shots. Fans should take the offensive struggles over the past few practices with a grain of salt — as many of these issues will (hopefully) be ironed out by the regular season, while the defense should be commended for its strong performances in Latrobe. Veteran DT confirms his return to Steelers on social media

Non-earth shattering news: I'm signing with the Pittsburgh Steelers The Steelers are bringing back a familiar face to their defensive line. On Friday, NT Breiden Fehoko confirmed through social media that he was returning to Pittsburgh — which comes at the perfect time, as a trio of defensive linemen recently suffered knee injuries at training camp. Fehoko, who signed with the Chargers as an undrafted free agent in 2020, spent three seasons in Los Angeles before joining the Steelers on a one-year deal in April 2023. He re-signed with Pittsburgh in March 2024 but was placed on injured reserve in August 2024, leading to his release with an injury settlement shortly after. He would rejoin the practice squad in October — but didn't appear in a game during his two years in the Steel City. The 6'3", 300 lb defensive lineman will use every opportunity at his disposal to make the 53-man roster this season — and while he faces an uphill battle, it's entirely possible as the Steelers deal with multiple injuries throughout their defensive line depth. Madden NFL 26 top CB ratings revealed — where does Steelers' Jalen Ramsey rank?

EA just dropped the top-10 player ratings at each position for Madden NFL 26 — and the newest Steelers cornerback, Jalen Ramsey, has been recognized as one of the best in the game. Here are the newly released Madden NFL 26 player ratings for the top-10 cornerbacks — with Ramsey tied as the third-best at his position. Ramsey is expected to play a vital role in the Steelers' secondary this upcoming season — forming a talented trio of CBs with Joey Porter Jr. (80 overall) and Darius Slay Jr. (84 overall). One of the most versatile corners in the NFL, Ramsey brings an abundance of tools to Pittsburgh's defense — including his infamous trash talking, which would without a doubt be a 99 if it were a Madden rating.
