R-Truth Names His Favorite Comedy Moments in WWE
One of the funniest characters in professional wrestling is former 24/7 Champion R-Truth. His jokes have made people in the crowd laugh, and have also sometimes made wrestlers break character too. Recently, Truth named his favorite moment in which wrestlers broke character.
While speaking to Chris Van Vliet on his Insight podcast, R-Truth shared that his favorite moment was when he made The Beast, Brock Lesnar, break character. It was back in 2020, ahead of the Royal Rumble PLE. Truth came out during an episode of Raw, seemingly challenging Lesnar, but instead called out Paul Heyman. Truth also shared how the segment came to fruition.

'Definitely the Brock Lesnar thing, which I got my friend Chris Dunn, he's is a writer. I kept forgetting to tell people that he was the one that helped me with that in the back. And Paul just surprising everybody, We're not going to let Brock know what we're going to do. It's just going to be a free fall. I'm like Brock is a beast. I think we should let Brock know what we're going to say about Brock. So funny thing is, I mean, I love Brock. Brock walked into gorilla, and it was simply just like he walked in. He's like, so what are we doing? And I'm looking at everybody for somebody to say something to this dude. Nobody said nothing. He's like, alright, well, guys, we just go out there and talk there and talk then. And I'm like, Oh y'all got this dude going out there. But it turned out to be one of the best moments,' R-Truth said.

Naomi Does Something Really Diabolical With Jade Cargill's Birthday Cake
Wrestle Zone and Yahoo may earn commission from links in this article. Pricing and availability subject to change. Eat with caution! Naomi has been feuding with Jade Cargill for the better part of the year. The pair squared off at WrestleMania 41 in Las Vegas, with Cargill picking up the win. In that time, Naomi debuted a new 'cautionary' heel persona and has done some great character work in recent months. Advertisement Carill and Naomi have shared the ring two other times since then, with Naomi picking up a win in a triple-threat Money In The Bank qualifier on SmackDown. However, it doesn't look like Naomi is finished toying with Cargill, as she took an innocent gesture a step too far. Jade Cargill celebrated her birthday on Tuesday, so Naomi got her a cake. Seems like an innocent, friendly gesture, right? Well, as Naomi showed on Twitter/X, she slipped some razor blades into the sides of the ice cream cake while singing the 'Happy Birthday' song. She continued to sing as she slid the cake back in the box, then let out an evil laugh after saying, 'Eat with caution!' Naomi's Queen of the Ring co-star reacts to her heel turn While Naomi (finally) turned heel this year, she played a babyface in Queen of the Ring. Billed as Trinity Fatu, she starred as Ethel Johnson opposite Emily Bett Rickards' Mildred Burke. Naomi is a 'heel' but she's also still winning people over with her dramatic shift in character. Bad guys normally want to be universally hated, but fans continue to praise her skills. Advertisement Rickards still sees that as a positive, and noted that getting a vocal reaction is still a good trait, no matter what side you're on. 'I have [stayed up to date with her work], I follow her on Instagram. I guess what I would say is that like, the boos are a turn of applause. But applause can also just be applause. But we'd also have to be like, if you're a heel and you're getting booed, you're probably like… I would imagine that makes you happy. I'm doing my job. You know what I mean? But the applause is still just as equal to the boo applause of a heel.' Queen of the Ring is now available to buy or rent on digital video on demand services, including Amazon Prime. More WWE Talent Releases May Be Happening Soon: Report
Based on facts, either observed and verified firsthand by the reporter, or reported and verified from knowledgeable sources. Newsweek AI is in beta. Translations may contain inaccuracies—please refer to the original content. Speaking on Wrestling Observer Live, Bryan Alvarez discussed the recent wave of WWE departures, including Sarah Logan (Valhalla) and the reported non-renewals of R-Truth and Carlito. He hinted that more releases could be on the horizon. He specifically highlighted changes to The Miz's social media presence that have fueled speculation about his WWE status. Following Logan's departure announcement, Alvarez stated he has "been told that might be others as well. So this might not be the end with Valhalla being released." The discussion then shifted to multi-time former WWE Champion, The Miz. Alvarez pointed to recent on-screen activity and significant off-screen signals: "Miz has not been doing much lately, and on Friday [SmackDown, May 30th], they did a segment he had just gotten put together with Carmelo Hayes as a tag team. They were teasing a breakup on Friday. And this was right when they cut Truth and Carlito, and now Sarah Logan. I've been told there were others." Alvarez reported, "And I bring up Miz, not just because of that angle, but if you go to his X account, there are no mentions of WWE. It no longer says the most must-see WWE superstar. He removed all references to WWE. It now says 'the most must-read X account of all time,' and that's it." While acknowledging The Miz is reportedly taping the new season of American Gladiators in London, which could explain a storyline separation from Hayes. Alvarez questioned the timing of the social media changes. "Now, I was told that he is doing the new season of American Gladiators or whatever. And so I know people are skeptical they would get rid of him now," Alvarez said (H/T to for the transcription). "But he did remove references to WWE from his social media. And I just think it would be a pretty lame thing to do that if you're not being released when everyone else has been released." Alvarez ended with a cautious outlook on The Miz's situation. "So there might where there's smoke, there could be fire, I will say that, but I guess we'll find out as the week goes on," he stated. More WWE News: For more on WWE, head to Newsweek Sports.

‘Canada's Got Talent,' filmed in Niagara Falls, won't be back next year
Is it lights out for 'Canada's Got Talent' in Niagara Falls? Citytv released its 2025/26 programming slate Tuesday and the reality competition series that has filmed at Niagara Fallsview Casino Resort since 2021 is not among the returning shows. 'We've decided to pause production of ('Canada's Got Talent') and the show will go on hiatus for next season,' said a spokesperson for Citytv when contacted Tuesday. The announcement comes just three weeks after the show aired its two-hour season 4 finale at Fallsview's OLG Stage, awarding Newfoundland singer Jacob Lewis $1 million. 'Canada's Got Talent' first aired in 2012 with judges Martin Short, opera singer Measha Brueggergosman and Niagara Falls-born singer Stephan Moccio. After the first season, it did not return until 2022. The new version of the show, filmed at Fallsview Casino's 1,500-seat Avalon Theatre, featured judges Howie Mandel, WWE icon Trish Stratus, YouTuber Lilly Singh and rapper Kardinal Offishall. It became Citytv's highest-rated new series in a decade. Filming shifted to the 5,000-seat OLG Stage at Fallsview Casino the next season, where it would remain. Episodes for each season would be filmed in late October at the venue, to air the following spring. Last year, the show took a dramatic leap by increasing the top prize to $1 million from $150,000, funded by Rogers. The current season saw the departure of judges Stratus and Singh and the addition of country music icon Shania Twain and comedian Katherine Ryan. Citytv would not elaborate on ratings for the final season or why the show is going on hiatus. Mandel, however, already has another Citytv show lined up. He will be the host of 'The Price is Right Tonight,' a new prime-time Canadian version of the iconic U.S. game show. Production starts in December in Toronto with 12 one-hour episodes airing next spring.
