Texas A&M Softball is a top consensus top-three team following an undefeated week
The Texas A&M softball team went 3-0 during the week, culminating in a series victory over the Georgia Bulldogs at Jack Turner Stadium during the weekend.
Texas A&M's softball team made waves with their stellar performance this week, kicking things off with a commanding run-rule victory over Prairie View A&M. They then headed to Athens, Georgia, to face the Bulldogs in a competitive conference series. Weather concerns led to a doubleheader on Saturday, where the Aggies dominated Game 1 with an 8-0 run-rule win. In Game 2, after facing some adversity, they made a strong comeback to secure a 12-5 victory. Unfortunately, the weather and TV scheduling prevented the teams from completing the series, but A&M took home their third conference series win.
The dynamic trio of Mya Perez, Allie Enright, and KK Dement was unstoppable, contributing a staggering 10 hits, 16 RBIs, and 5 home runs over the weekend. Dement's grand slam in Game 1 was a standout moment, setting the tone for a decisive victory. The Aggies demonstrated incredible teamwork and adaptability, with players stepping up to fill the void when needed. Texas A&M continues to prove their resilience and talent, solidifying their position as a formidable team in the conference.
All major softball polls have the Aggies in the Top 5 after two mid-week run-rule victories and sweeping LMU last week.
Texas A&M will open the series against LSU on April 11 at 6:00 pm. CT. The game will be available to stream on SEC Network+.

Watch Oklahoma QB John Mateer give Sooners teammates Beats By Dre
When the Oklahoma Sooners added quarterback John Mateer via the transfer portal, the hope was that he'd help resurrect an offense that was one of the worst in the nation in 2025. Not only has he done that, but he's also been a big part of building team 131 from a leadership standpoint. Players and coaches have spoken of Mateer's leadership and how he's not only built relationships with everyone on the offensive side of the ball, but he's also built a strong rapport with the guys on defense as well. He's sat in on meetings with each position group and has gone above and beyond to build confidence and camaraderie. Mateer recently entered into a name, image, and likeness agreement with the worldwide brand Beats by Dre. Oklahoma football released a video of Mateer walking into Gaylord Family Oklahoma Memorial Stadium sporting the Oklahoma Sooners-themed Beats. But that wasn't all. Mateer also gifted his teammates with a pair of Beats. The reaction will leave you smiling, as teammates could be heard in the video shouting, "We love you, John!!!" The gesture had the players smiling and cheering after practice let out. Watch the video of Mateer giving his teammates the Beats headphones below as released by Oklahoma Football's social media team. The College Football Playoff announces new selection process that impacts Notre Dame
The College Football Playoff continues to tweak its formula, and on Wednesday it was announced that they will be changing how they 'assess schedule strength, and how teams perform against their schedule,' as reported by CBS Sports Brandon Marcello. The release goes on to say that more weight will be given to wins against 'strong opponents' which gives teams who have difficult schedules an advantage. The committee will add record strength as well, and they'll judge that by going 'beyond a team's schedule strength to assess how a team performed against that schedule.' That will be difficult in my eyes, as often times preseason polls are incorrect. It is great to see that they have come forward and let teams know that they'll give more credit to wins over good teams, and on the flip side, a bigger penalty for losses to bad teams. They also announced a factor that impacts Notre Dame greatly, as they addresses idle teams in the final week of the season. The committee stated 'that movement in the final weeks should evidence-based and did not recommend creating a formal policy prohibiting such movement.' Since the Irish aren't in a conference, they'll always be one of these teams that could move down without playing. While it doesn't force Notre Dame's hand, it's not the most encouraging part of these changes.
