Wednesday season two delves deeper into the Addams Family lore on Netflix, viewers have become intrigued by a certain extended family member.
Wednesday Addams, portrayed by Jenna Ortega, has developed a psychic ability that causes black tears to stream down her face whenever she has a vision.
Her mother, Morticia Addams (played by Catherine Zeta Jones), later discloses that her sister, Aunt Ophelia, also possessed psychic abilities and experienced this same unsettling symptom.
Morticia reveals that Ophelia's excessive use of her powers led her to insanity, resulting in Grandma Hester Frump (Joanna Lumley) committing her daughter to Willow Hill Psychiatric Hospital.
However, since her release, Ophelia has not been seen for many years, leaving the family in the dark about her whereabouts.
While Aunt Ophelia may not currently feature in Wednesday, she has a long-standing history with The Addams Family franchise.
Aunt Ophelia has made appearances in numerous The Addams Family films and TV shows over the years.
She was brought to life by actress Carolyn Jones in The Addams Family series, Allegra Kent in the 1991 film, Laura Esterman in 1993's Addams Family Values, and Lisa Calder in The New Addams Family from 1998.
Ophelia was typically depicted as joyful, upbeat and athletic, although this might not be the case if she makes an appearance in Netflix's Wednesday.
Interestingly, Aunt Ophelia shares a personal history with Morticia's husband, Gomez Addams (Luis Guzman).
In the Addams family tradition of arranged marriages, Gomez was initially set to wed his now sister-in-law, Ophelia.
However, fortune favoured him when she fell for his Cousin Itt, freeing him to pursue his romantic interest in Morticia, with whom he always shared a special bond.
Cousin Itt has yet to make an appearance in Wednesday, but there's potential for his introduction if Ophelia is brought into the series.
Historically, Ophelia had a close relationship with her and Morticia's mother, but this doesn't appear to be the case in Wednesday.
With fans speculating that this enigmatic aunt may make an appearance in part two, only time will reveal how this potentially awkward family reunion unfolds.

And the new series has been back with a bang, with the first four episodes being released today (August 13), already bringing relationship drama and love triangles. But there is one star who is almost unrecognisable from his old throwback pictures. Gym Owner Kal is 32-year-old hailing from Wigan and he hopes to find his future wife on the show. Despite having relationships in the past, none have lasted longer than a year. His dad is Pakistani and his mother is English and he is part of a large, close-knit family. But seeing two of his brothers happily married and one with a baby has spurred him on to find a girl he can build a future with. On the show, Kal is seen building a connection with Sarover, who was born into a modern Indian family and has never dated outside of her ethnicity. Despite this, and despite not being Kal's "type", the two seemingly hit it off as they date within their pods. As a gym owner, Kal is in quite good physical shape and often takes to his Instagram page to share his own physical improvements. One old post is him during a body building competition, posing and showing off his muscles in an incredible transformation. In another post, Kal praises his fitness journey as he showed where he was then compared to an even older photo. He wrote: "So glad I started training .... wow." Kal made his Love Is Blind debut today as the first four episodes were released. But fans will have to wait until next week to find out what is in store for the gym owner.

UK cinemas to host KPop Demon Hunters sing-alongs
Younger audiences will be singing their hearts out in cinemas across the UK this month as KPop Demon Hunters arrives on the big screen for a series of special sing-along events. The unexpected Netflix hit, which has become the most popular animated film of all time on the streaming platform, has hooked children (and many parents) worldwide since its release in June. The film's soundtrack, meanwhile, is dominating the charts with more than 3bn global streams so far and the song Golden reaching No 1 on the US Billboard Hot 100 chart and the UK's official singles chart. The official video has been viewed on YouTube more than 130m times. KPop Demon Hunters follows the adventures of the girl group Huntr/x, made up of Rumi, Mira and Zoey, who use their secret identities as demon hunters to protect their fans from supernatural threats and face off against a rival band, Saja Boys, whose members are secretly demons. Tickets are now on sale for the screenings across the UK on 23 and 24 August. Netflix confirmed similar events will be available in the US and Canada on the same weekend. Along with demand for a sequel, there is also an insatiable demand for its merchandise, with Hunter/x T-shirts, hoodies and hats among the bestselling items on Netflix's website. Maggie Kang, the film's Korean-Canadian co-director, previously said she and her co-director, Chris Appelhans, had wanted the film's music to be 'really incredible and really speak to the K-pop fans and legitimately fit into the K-pop space'. In contrast, Hollywood animation is having a lacklustre summer at the box office and it is possible that not a single fully animated film will make the top 10. The Disney-Pixar original Elio has been trounced by 'live-action' remakes of Lilo & Stitch and How to Train Your Dragon.
