ESPN pitches trade offers for Dolphins' Jalen Ramsey
Seven-time Pro Bowl cornerback Jalen Ramsey's future with Miami has been in limbo since April when Dolphins general manager Chris Grier revealed that it was in the best interest of all parties to part ways via a trade.
On Tuesday, Miami head coach Mike McDaniel was mostly mum on whether or not there's been any progress on a Ramsey trade.
Still, though Ramsey inked a three-year, $72.3 million contract extension in September of last year, it certainly appears as though it's a matter of when and not if Ramsey gets traded.
With that in mind, ESPN pitched four potential hypothetical trades for Ramsey on Wednesday.
Jeremy Fowler's trade package for the Dolphins with the Los Angeles Rams
Dolphins get: 2026 fifth-round pick, 2026 sixth-round pick, cash considerations
Rams get: Ramsey
Jeremy Fowler writes that this deal makes sense because of the large sum of guaranteed money attached to Ramsey's contract in 2025. That $20.2 million figure has turned off some interested teams, but the Rams would cover at least $12 million of that in this scenario.
Meanwhile, Miami would also receive a pair of later-round picks and move on from a disgruntled Dolphin.
Daniel Graziano's trade package for the Dolphins with the Los Angeles Rams
Dolphins get: 2026 seventh-round pick
Rams get: Ramsey
Daniel Graziano writes that his gut feel is that Ramsey winds up getting released by the Dolphins. If that is indeed in play, this scenario at least sees Miami getting something in return for Ramsey.
Ben Solak's trade package for the Dolphins with the Carolina Panthers
Dolphins get: 2026 fourth-round pick
Panthers get: Ramsey
Ben Solak whips up the tastiest trade package for Miami. Interestingly, Solak wonders if Ramsey could make the position switch to safety to fill a need for Carolina.
Seth Walder's trade package for the Dolphins with the Los Angeles Chargers
Dolphins get: 2027 seventh-round pick
Chargers get: Ramsey, 2027 sixth-round pick
Seth Walder argues that the Chargers have something the other teams don't: the cap room to absorb all of Ramsey's guarantees. While the Chargers have a little less than $32 million in cap space in 2025, Los Angeles has more than $118 million in 2026 cap space.
That's the largest 2026 cap space in the NFL and would make welcoming Ramsey's contract much more palatable.

Jackie Robinson, Minnie Minoso mural vandalized in Miami

Police are investigating after vandals defaced a mural of baseball legends Jackie Robinson and Minnie Miñoso that is part of a collection of artwork honoring baseball players in Miami's Overtown neighborhood. The vandalism was discovered Sunday by a 7-year-old boy who asked his mother what the words and the Nazi symbols meant, community leaders said during a news conference. City workers have since partially covered the murals of Robinson and Miñoso, an Afro-Cuban player, with wooden boards. The murals are along a fence at Dorsey Park, where Negro League teams once played baseball. 'I know you may not be able to show it on television, but we need the community to uncover the hurt and the hatred that is existing. The reason why this keeps being perpetuated is because we keep covering it up,' said Terrance Cribbs-Lorrant, an executive director with the city of Miami Black Police Precinct. On Wednesday, Democratic U.S. Rep. Sheila Cherfilus-McCormick said in a statement that she is outraged by the 'vile act of hatred.' 'We must treat this for what it is: a hate crime meant to instill fear and division. But we will not be intimidated. We will respond with unity, resilience, and an unwavering commitment to truth, justice, and the preservation of our history,' she said. Robinson broke the color barrier in Major League Baseball in 1947 when he became the first black player, signing with the Brooklyn Dodgers. Miñoso became the league's first Afro-Latino player and the first black player for the Chicago White Sox. The murals have been displayed in the park since 2011 and are a collaboration between artists Kyle Holbrook and Kadir Nelson and various community groups. Police have yet to make any arrests for the vandalism. 'This was more than a defaced mural — it was an attempt to silence our story,' said Dr. Saliha Nelson, CEO of Urgent, Inc. 'But we will not be erased. We will restore this mural and celebrate this space as a symbol of agency, pride, and excellence.'

Maroons guns of past help Dolphins spine shine: Katoa

Dolphins star half Isaiya Katoa is a true NSW Blue in waiting, but he has credited video sessions watching one of Queensland's greatest spine combinations for the dazzling attack of his side. The Dolphins have scored a combined 100 points in their past two matches, with a record-breaking 56-6 win over St George Illawarra on Friday night following a 44-8 demolition of competition leaders Canterbury before their bye. "We have a spine meeting where our nine, six, seven and one come together," Katoa said after his man-of-the-match display against the Dragons. "Some of the clips we look at are Cameron Smith, JT (Johnathan Thurston), Cooper Cronk and Billy Slater all connecting (for the Maroons). "The more they connected the more success their team had. We are trying to build that into our own games and still try to play to our individual strengths. It is a work in progress for us." Built on steely defence, the past two Dolphins wins have also featured the creative wares of halves Kodi Nikorima and Katoa at their best. Dazzling fullback Hamiso Tabuai-Fidow was on Origin duties for the Canterbury clash, but scored a try double against the Dragons. Hooker Jeremy Marshall-King returned from an extended break with a leg laceration against the Red V. With bench hooker Kurt Donoghoe chiming in to perfection, the Dolphins attack, when on song, is as good as any side in the NRL Centres Herbie Farnworth and Jake Averillo have been in great touch, which is due to Nikorima and Katoa connecting so well together as a duo and not just sitting on their own sides of the field. "We speak about (combining) all week. Over the pre-season we were working really hard at trying to find each other on the field, whether I come over to the left side or Kodi comes over to the right side," Katoa said "The more we can find each other the more we can find guys like Hammer (Tabuai-Fidow), Herbie and Jake on the outside. With the speed and strike they have, you need to keep giving them the footy." Once again it is the old Maroons halves pairing that Katoa has learned so much from. "The two that come to mind are Cooper Cronk and JT, just the way they were always talking to each other, playing both sides of the field and mixing it up at times," Katoa said. "It is something me and Kodi base our game off." The Dolphins are now in seventh position on the ladder and play North Queensland away next Saturday night.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers Offensive Duo Named in NFL's Top 5

Tampa Bay Buccaneers Offensive Duo Named in NFL's Top 5 originally appeared on Athlon Sports. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers boast an incredible offensive duo that has already shown to be one of the best pairings in the NFL in just two short seasons together. Advertisement Quarterback Baker Mayfield arrived in Tampa Bay in 2023 after being tossed aside by the likes of Cleveland and Carolina and proceeded to make his first two Pro Bowl appearances of his career. When he joined the Bucs and wideout Mike Evans, magic happened. That's why Pro Football Focus ranked the pair in the top five of offensive duos in the NFL. 5. TAMPA BAY BUCCANEERS: BAKER MAYFIELD & MIKE EVANS "Mayfield and Evans both ranked near the top 10 of their respective position rankings heading into the season, with Evans at No. 9 and Mayfield coming at No. 13. Since Mayfield arrived in Tampa Bay in 2023, his 22 big-time throws when targeting Evans are tied for the second most among duos in these rankings, behind only Tua Tagovailoa and Tyreek Hill (28). Mayfield-to-Evans has also produced 2,259 yards over the past two years, which ranks third on this list." Advertisement Mayfield and Evans rank behind, 4. Washington's Jayden Daniels and Terry McLaurin, 3. Houston's C.J. Stroud and Nico Collins, 2. Philadelphia's Jalen Hurts and A.J. Brown and 1. Cincinnati's Joe Burrow and Ja'Marr Chase. Since Mayfield arrived in Tampa Bay in 2023, he's made his first two career Pro Bowls and had back-to-back career passing seasons. Evans continued his now-record-tying streak of 11 straight 1,000-yard seasons with Mayfield throwing him the ball the past two years, and has a chance to stand alone at the top if he can post his 12th in 2025.
