Seahawks, Bucs will both wear throwback uniforms in Week 5 matchup
Both teams announced that they will be wearing throwback uniforms when they meet in Seattle in Week 5. That will mean the white jersey version of the Buccaneers' Creamsicle look and royal blue jerseys for the Seahawks. Both teams will also sport the helmets that they wore in the past.
The look will be similar to the ones that the two teams sported when they met during their inaugural season in 1976. The Seahawks prevailed 13-10 for one of their two wins on the season. The Buccaneers went 0-14 to open their NFL run.
The Bucs will also be wearing the home version of their throwbacks for their Week 3 home opener against the Jets.

With the Baltimore Ravens prepared to start NFL Training Camp 2024 tomorrow, coaches and support staff should will be amped to get reps in with ideal offensive packaging, personnel, and formations. With the Ravens leading the NFL in rushing yards per game last season, the Ravens would be wise to get a hefty amount of reps with running back Derrick Henry and full back Patrick Ricard on the field in tandem. While Ricard doesn't deploy often in the team's offensive attack, offensive coordinator Todd Monken has opted to call his number when the team goes into 21 personnel. With Henry and Ricard lined up in Strong, Weak, or I-formation, defenses have had and will have their hands full trying to account for the quickness, power, and force of the Ravens' rushing attack. Outside zone and stretch runs allow Henry to get to edge, while simultaneously allowing Ricard to climb to the second-level of the defense to block the lateral movement of opposing linebackers. With Henry unlikely to go down after initial contact, the usage of 21 personnel has shown to be even more effective when the Ravens are in the red-zone. No other team in the NFL had a higher red-zone touchdown percentage than the Ravens in 2024. Henry tallied up a total of 16 rushing touchdowns on the season, a testament of just how effective the ground game had been for the Ravens collectively. Ultimately this works well because Ricard isn't looking to be the star of the show. Instead, Ricard is looking to works in tandem with the Ravens' offensive line to insure that Henry has running lanes to push through. Had Monken prioritized the run earlier this winter, the Ravens may have went on to advance to the Super Bowl. Nevertheless, the the team will have another chance to make it all make sense in 2025. Expect Monken to deploy Henry and Ricard in 21 personnel at Training Camp this summer. One Minnesota Vikings veteran projected to give a 'boost' to defense in 2025
The Minnesota Vikings may have a 22-year-old quarterback starting for the first time in the NFL this season. However, the team believes it can still contend in 2025, just one season after going 14-3. That means that even though they have a long-term investment with J.J. McCarthy at quarterback, they have some shorter-term solutions at other positions. Although the Vikings tied for 4th in the NFL with 49 sacks, they lacked a formidable pass rush from their interior defensive linemen. They got only four sacks from that position group, forcing Brian Flores to draw up more blitzes that left holes in the zones downfield. One player being counted on to improve the interior line is former Washington Commanders defensive tackle Jonathan Allen. The 30-year-old has 42 sacks in eight seasons but missed nine games in 2024 due to a torn pectoral muscle. Now, being healthy and surrounded by playmakers on defense, Warren Ludford of The Daily Norseman believes Allen can thrive despite being in the later stages of his career. There are a few reasons for optimism regarding Allen's performance this season with the Vikings. The first is that Allen will have a better supporting cast along the defensive line so offenses won't be able to focus on him as much and that may lead to his being in a better position to pressure the quarterback. The second reason is that Allen is going from a 4-3 to a 3-4 base front and I would not be surprised if Brian Flores employed a five-man front on a significant percentage of snaps. That makes it nearly impossible for Allen to be double-teamed and should help his production. Allen isn't the only former Pro Bowler the Vikings added to the defensive line. Former 49ers lineman Javon Hargrave, 32, was also signed this season. Together, the Vikings are expecting immediate results that can put them in a position to make a deep playoff run.
