‘Kisson Ka Kissa' brings out hidden talent of BNA trainees
2
Lucknow: In a captivating display of young talent, Bhartendu Natya Academy (BNA) presented 'Kisson Ka Kissa', a unique theatrical production blending four distinct stories, marking the culmination of their 30-day children's workshop.
The play, written and directed by Walter Peter, with music by Manoj Bhatiya and choreography by Harshita Mishra, showcased the transformation of young performers from hesitant beginners to confident stage artists.
Set in the fictional village of Ram Rahimpur, the narrative ingeniously weaves together elements from the Arabian classic 'Ali Baba and Forty Thieves' with contemporary themes. The story centres around Baba Fursat Mian, a storyteller who enchants local children with daily tales, and the Jhanjhanahat Drama Company, whose presence adds a theatrical dimension to village life.
The plot takes an exciting turn when Marjina, aided by Bajrangi, an artist from the drama company, confronts the terrorist and theft kingpin Mustafa Haider, who has terrorised not just Ram Rahimpur but the entire nation. The production effectively conveys messages about the triumph of honesty over evil and national security.
"Through the workshop, we witnessed the emergence of hidden talents as children overcame their inhibitions," said director Walter Peter, adding, "The transformation in their self-expression was remarkable."
The impact of the workshop was evident in the participants' testimonials. Kabir Agarwal, one of the young performers, shared, "Initially hesitant, I soon found myself immersed in theatre games and acting techniques."
Another participant, Ishaani Singh, revealed how the workshop helped her overcome stage fright and perform confidently.
