Rock legend, 78, wheeled off stage in coffin during bizarre exit
Gig-goers at London's Alexandra Palace were left baffled as a rock icon's show wrapped up with a huge coffin being wheeled out onto the stage.
A lone arm waved from the black box, prompting laughter from the onlookers as they realised star of the show and music legend, Iggy Pop, was inside.
As the huge coffin faced the front, the shirtless rocker opened the lid and smiled at the crowd shouting 'bye' and basking in the applause.
Posting to his social media the 78-year-old star quipped: 'London was a hoot! How you exit is equally important to how you enter.'
This marked the penultimate show in a handful of UK dates for the Grammy winner's Lust For Life tour, before he heads to Glasgow on June 3.
Iggy kicked off the gig with TV Eye, a song he rose to fame with as a member of The Stooges.
He blasted through over 20 hits before wrapping the show – before his coffin exit – with Funtime.
The legend had previously performed at Manchester's O2 Victoria Warehouse before heading to London.
He's off to In The Meadows festival in Dublin, Ireland, next then to a string of gigs in mainland Europe over the summer.
The American rocker will head back to the States for two July gigs before jetting back over to Denmark, Sweden, Brazil, and Argentina.
Fans were living for his coffin antics in London, with ktorreg writing on X: 'Only iggy … 😉 … may he long reign … 🔊🎶🎸.'
'Punk's not dead 🤘' added post_punk while Ingeastrid said: 'Always that smile…mischievous charmer.'
Off-stage, life is much less rock and roll for Iggy who revealed at Cannes Film Festival he 'likes baths, sometimes with a rubber duck and bubbles'. More Trending
He continued: 'Sometimes I get really upset if it's getting late in the day and I think to myself that I haven't done anything I really like. And music is what gives me pleasure you know, well music and the sea.'
'That's my default setting, so I'm always putting my pleasure first – I can get really desperate to seek pleasure – and when that happens usually it means someone takes me to the beach.'
According to the rocker, about 95% of life is about being 'chill' rather than raising hell, despite what his on-stage persona might suggest.

Eurovision Song Contest 2026 date and host city revealed
To view this video please enable JavaScript, and consider upgrading to a web browser that supports HTML5 video Austria will once again take centre stage at Eurovision, as ORF confirmed this morning that the 2026 contest will be held in Vienna. This year's competition carries special significance as the 70th edition of Eurovision, coming to Austria after JJ's victory in Basel earlier this year, which gave his country its third Eurovision Song Contest win. The Grand Final will be held on Saturday May 16 at the Wiener Stadthalle, Austria's largest indoor arena, with Semi-Finals earlier the same week on Tuesday May 12 and Thursday May 14. A whole week of activities will take place around the Contest in Vienna with more details of the location of the Eurovision Village, Euroclub and much more to be revealed in the coming weeks and months. It will also mark the third time the country has hosted the event: first in 1967, when Udo Jürgens' Merci Chérie brought the show to Vienna, and again in 2015, when Conchita Wurst's unforgettable Rise Like a Phoenix victory led to another spectacular contest in the capital. The decision came down to two finalists, Vienna and Innsbruck, both of which submitted bids earlier this summer. The European Broadcasting Union and ORF assessed each proposal on strict criteria, including venue size, availability for up to eight weeks of preparations, hotel capacity for thousands of fans and delegates, and press facilities able to accommodate 1,500 journalists. In the end, Vienna was selected as the city best equipped to host Eurovision 2026. Martin Green CBE, Director of the Eurovision Song Contest said: 'The EBU is thrilled that Vienna has been selected as the Host City for the Eurovision Song Contest 2026. 'Vienna's reputation as one of the most musical cities in the world, and its location in the heart of Europe, makes it the perfect Host City for the 70th Eurovision Song Contest. 'The city's exceptional Stadthalle was a great venue for the 60th Contest in 2015 and we're very much looking forward to welcoming delegations, artists and fans alike back there next May as the world's largest live music event celebrates 70 glorious years of being United by Music. 'Together with Host Broadcaster ORF and the city of Vienna we will create a spectacular celebration of music that will reverberate across the world.' Roland Weißmann, Director General of Host Broadcaster ORF added: 'After thorough examination and based on a unanimous jury assessment, ORF concluded that Vienna's offer is not only the most attractive in terms of infrastructure and logistics but also economically. The Contest is a celebration for all of Austria, which we will all be proud of.' More Trending Innsbruck had campaigned with Olympia Halle under the banner 'Together On Top,' while Vienna promoted its bid with Wiener Stadthalle and the line 'Europe, Shall We Dance?' As always, the week will consist of two semi-finals on Tuesday and Thursday evenings, followed by the Grand Final on Saturday at 21:00 CET. With the host city now confirmed, preparations for the 70th edition of Eurovision will accelerate, from stage design and ticketing to the programme of side events that will transform Vienna into Europe's music capital next spring. Tamar Braxton was found in 'pool of blood' and nearly died three days ago
Tamar Braxton has admitted that she nearly died just two days ago after a facial injury that left her missing teeth. The American singer and TV personality, best known as the founding member of The Braxtons, 48, made the revelation on her Instagram account, telling fans that she is still 'so weak'. The post was shared on her story and accompanied by Clavier's song, Spirit Lead Me, as she explained she didn't even know what caused the injuries. 'I struggled to write this but everyone keeps calling me and honestly, I can't even really talk anymore I'm so weak. 'I almost died Sunday. I was found in a pool of blood from my friend with a face injury. 'As the days go by the worse it is. I fractured my nose, lost some teeth and mobility. [broken heart emojis] the way I look at life now is totally different. As my health is on the mend my mental journey begins… pray for me for real [broken heart emojis] 'I don't even know what happened to me [broken heart emojis] (sic)' Before the injury, the star had posted a quote reading: 'Thank you God for waking me up today.' After the incident, she shared a page from the Bible showing Proverbs 31. The news comes after Tamar announced earlier this year that she was prioritising her health, with plans to go on tour again. 'Bday is over so no more drinks…. No more carbs… all body and VOICE!!!' she said. 'Me and my brother @octoberlondon and I are going to give you a night you won't forget❤️😍🍀✨ see ya soon🏆,' she told followers on Instagram. In April the singer also marked her late sister's birthday: 'Happy Heavenly Birthday beautiful @therealtracibraxton We miss you down here sis!! But I know God didn't want to see you sick like that so, he brought you home to himself to heal you ❤️ Thank you for being an amazing sister and covering all of us down here🙏🏼✨' Traci Braxton died in 2022 following a battle with oesophageal cancer at least one year ahead of her death. In 2020, Tamar was hospitalised after attempting to take her life. She later thanked her boyfriend at the time for saving her life, and he later filed a restraining order against the singer, citing domestic violence. More Trending At present, Tamar is single. She told The Breakfast Club podcast earlier this year that she wasn't dating at the moment. 'I'm still celibate. Not even a kiss, not a date. Lana Del Rey reveals wedding memento ahead of first anniversary with alligator tour guide husband
Lana Del Rey revealed a rare wedding memento ahead of her first anniversary with alligator tour guide Jeremy Dufrene on September 26. The 40-year-old Abyss singer shared a snap of an ornate rose pin as well as a white lace doily that was red-stitched with their first initials 'L & J' for their big day. Lana (born Elizabeth Grant) posted a glimpse at her wedding ring as well as her substantial thigh gap, which many believe came courtesy of a trendy GLP-1 weight-loss drug. Del Rey - who boasts 65.9M social media followers - also shared a blurry snap of the 50-year-old father-of-three's airboat that he regularly captains in Louisiana. The 11-time Grammy nominee and Jeremy reportedly obtained their marriage license on September 23, but it's unclear if they ever signed a prenuptial agreement to protect her reported $60M fortune. 'I'm grateful for him for [my producer Jack Antonoff's] example that he gave me in his marriage to Margaret [Qualley]. I saw the way he looked at her when he met her, and he's a big reason why I waited so long to get married and why I met my amazing husband,' Lana gushed at a Variety event on December 7. 'I really feel like there's kind of a singer's curse around meeting an honest partner who has no skin in the game, no dog in the race. And it's super nerve-racking to have to hold onto an innocent perception of how things could go when you're in an industry where maybe your values or your morals don't quite match up with what's going on. Especially when people think that you probably don't have any morals or values.' Del Rey has known Dufrene as far back as 2019 when he let her 'captain' his airboat during a cruise with Arthur's Airboat Tours, which hosted the couple's nuptials on the bayou of Des Allemandes. Speaking of Jack, the Manhattan-born belter has teased three tracks - 57.5, Bluebird, and Henry, Come On - off her upcoming 10th studio album and first country record, which is rumored to be called Lasso. Last Thursday, Lana shared a snippet of 'Track 13' which her fans are already nicknaming 'All About Ethel' as it appears to be a diss track aimed at Ethel Cain. 'Ethel Cain hated my Instagram post / Thinks it's cute reenactin' my Chicago pose / Hard to roll in slow motion / Hard to say no to cau-caution / Hard to stop when it's like an ocean / Not afraid to say I'm goin' down in flames,' Del Rey sang. 'The most famous girl at the Waffle House / I don't regret it / The most famous girl at the Waffle House.' That same day, the self-described 'anti-feminist' accused the 27-year-old trans woman of fat-shaming her by posting 'graphic side-by-side images' and 'making constant comments about my weight.' 'I didn't know who Ethel was until a few years ago,' Lana explained in a since-deleted comment on Pop Base's Instagram. 'I was confused at what she was getting at. Then when I heard what she was saying behind closed doors from mutual friends and started inserting herself into my personal life I was definitely disturbed.' Last Thursday, Lana shared a snippet of 'Track 13' which her fans are already nicknaming 'All About Ethel' as it appears to be a diss track aimed at Ethel Cain That same day, the self-described 'anti-feminist' accused the 27-year-old trans woman of fat-shaming her by posting 'graphic side-by-side images' and 'making constant comments about my weight' On Thursday, Ethel Instastoried an update: 'Lana Del Rey has blocked Ethel Cain on Instagram.' Del Rey's lyric referencing her 'Chicago pose' was aimed at Cain (born Hayden Silas Anhedönia) for copying her while posing next to her ex-boyfriend, Salem member Jack Donoghue, at a dam in 2021. The Golden Globe-nominated songwriter's lyric about Waffle House was referring to a 2022 New York Times profile on the autistic, homeschooled Zoomer which they headlined 'The Most Famous Girl at the Waffle House.' Ethel isn't having the best summer considering she just penned a 2K-word apology for resurfaced tweets where she wrote the N-word and referred to 'building the wall' and 'legalizing incest' and drawing child pornography. 'To try and sum everything up, no I am not a violent misogynist fetishizing the "female experience,"' Cain wrote via Google doc on July 9. 'No I am not the creator of child pornography, nor am I a pedophile, a zoophile, or a porn-addicted incest fetishist. I urge you to recognize the patterns of a transphobic/otherwise targeted smear campaign, especially in this political day and age.' The 5ft8in IMG Model will next bring her 63-date Willoughby Tucker Forever Tour to the Shrine Auditorium and Expo Hall in LA this Wednesday and Thursday.
