UFC 317 live: Ilia Topuria vs Charles Oliveira time, card, updates and results

Independent28-06-2025
In the main event of UFC 317 tonight, Ilia Topuria and Charles Oliveira will clash over the vacant lightweight title, in a fight that has unique stakes for each man.
In one corner is Topuria, the Spanish-Georgian putting his unbeaten record on the line as he aims to become a two-weight champion. Back in February, the 28-year-old gave up the featherweight belt to eye a move to lightweight, setting his sights on Islam Makhachev, who held the title at the time.
Soon thereafter, however, Makhachev similarly vacated his title with the intent of capturing the welterweight belt. As such, Topuria was paired with Oliveira, who aims to become a two-time lightweight champion here. The Brazilian, 35, is statistically the most dangerous fighter in the UFC, holding the records for most finishes and most submissions in the promotion's history.
And in tonight's co-main event in Las Vegas, Alexandre Pantoja defends his flyweight title against Kai Kara-France, the New Zealander whom he beat on The Ultimate Fighter in 2016. Will Pantoja's impressive title run continue, or can the Kiwi knockout artist find the Brazilian's chin?

Raducanu ready for ‘fact-finding match' against Sabalenka at Cincinnati Open

Emma Raducanu has underlined her excitement before what she describes as a 'fact-finding match' against the world No 1 Aryna Sabalenka as they prepare to battle in the third round of the Cincinnati Open on Monday. 'It's always exciting for a player like me to play the very top, because it's like a fact-finding match,' Raducanu said. 'You see where you are in comparison to the top. And I also think form fluctuates so much on the day. So you can lose two and one [6-2, 6-1] one day, you can win or you can make it close the next day, and it can be down to a few points. So I'm excited.' This occasion will mark Raducanu's first significant match since starting the partnership with her new coach Francisco Roig last week in Cincinnati. Last month Raducanu played one of her best matches against a top player as she made life difficult for Sabalenka at Wimbledon in two tight sets. After serving for the first set and then later holding a set point against the Belarusian, Raducanu led 4-1 in the second set before losing 7-6 (6), 6-4. 'She played incredible tennis,' Sabalenka said of the British player after her straight-sets win against Marketa Vondrousova on Saturday night. 'I'm super happy to see her mentally and physically back, and definitely gonna be back in the top 10 very soon. She challenged me that much, and I like to accept tough challenges, so I'm super excited about facing her on the hard courts.' Raducanu gave an honest response when asked if she left Centre Court at Wimbledon determined to have another crack at Sabalenka as soon as possible. 'I would say I thought I'd love to have another crack at that on grass, like tomorrow,' she said, laughing. 'But I know, and I'm honestly reasonable enough, and, I guess, honest enough in myself to know that different surfaces favour different people and where my game is at in comparison. I think the grass gave me a bit of an advantage but we'll see how it goes.' Raducanu has enjoyed a positive run of form in recent months while training and competing consistently on the tour, and she could be seeded for the US Open. In their first few days working together, Raducanu and Roig will at least get a clear understanding of exactly where she stands in comparison to the very best.

Scottie Scheffler's caddie LEAVES FedEx St. Jude Championship for family emergency as chaplain steps in

Scottie Scheffler 's caddie has left the FedEx St. Jude Championship due to a family matter - and he will be replaced by a chaplain. Ted Scott had to 'unexpectedly' return home to Dallas from the Memphis-based tournament, according to a report on the PGA Tour website. And Scott will be replaced for the final round by Brad Payne, who reportedly serves as a chaplain to PGA players through the College Golf Fellowship. Scheffler and Payne are friends, and the latter also caddied for the world No. 1 at last year's PGA Championship after Scott departed the tournament. In that case, Payne stepped in for the third round as Scott flew home for his daughter's high school graduation. Scheffler was 12-under through the first three rounds of the FedEx St. Jude and entered the final day just two strokes behind leader Tommy Fleetwood.

Titans RB Tyjae Spears nursing high-ankle sprain

August 10 - Tennessee Titans running back Tyjae Spears is expected to miss a few weeks with a high-ankle sprain, head coach Brian Callahan told reporters Sunday. Spears sustained the injury during Saturday's 29-7 loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in a preseason game. He had three carries for minus-1 yard on Saturday for the Titans, who likely will rely on fellow running backs Julius Chestnut and Kalel Mullings to provide support for starter Tony Pollard. Spears, 24, rushed for 312 yards and four touchdowns and added 30 catches for 224 yards and one score in 12 games (one start) last season for Tennessee. He has rushed for 765 yards and six touchdowns in 29 career games (two starts) since being selected by the Titans in the third round of the 2023 NFL Draft out of Tulane. --Field Level Media
