Arizona Cardinals add CB, OL, DL in new 3-round mock draft
Arizona Cardinals add CB, OL, DL in new 3-round mock draft Draft Wire has a new three-round mock draft. Check out who the picks are for the Cardinals.
We are now in April and Draft Wire's Curt Popejoy has a new three-round mock draft to look at. Miami QB Cam Ward is the first player selected, Colorado QB Shedeur Sanders goes third overall and three quarterbacks are taken in the first round.
What do the Arizona Cardinals do? With their three selections in the first three rounds, they go with a cornerback, offensive lineman and defensive tackle.
Let's have a look at who they are.
NFL mock draft: Cardinals picks in Rounds 1-3
Round 1: Texas CB Jahdae Barron
Round 2: Minnesota OL Aireontae Ersery
Round 3: Texas DT Vernon Broughton
Analysis
While the Cardinals don't have a huge need at cornerback considering they have selected five in the last two drafts and three with top-90 picks, Barron would improve the group. But with edge rushers and defensive tackles going in five of the eight picks that follow, it feels like the Cardinals are missing out.
But if they view Barron as a better prospect than Jalon Walker, Shemar Stewart and Donovan Ezeiruaku, then the pick makes sense.
It is completely believable that the Cardinals will take a take in the first two rounds of the draft. GM Monti Ossenfort wants to build the trenches and right tackle Jonah Williams is coming off an injury and has only one year remaining on his contract. Ersery prepares them for 2026.
Broughton is 6-foot-5 and 311 pounds. He had four sacks, five tackles for loss, three tipped passes, two forced fumbles and three fumble recoveries last season. He has long 35-inch arms. A defensive tackle in the first three rounds is also expected from the Cardinals.

Dodgers React to Major Clayton Kershaw News on Sunday
Dodgers React to Major Clayton Kershaw News on Sunday originally appeared on Athlon Sports. The Los Angeles Dodgers faced off against the St. Louis Cardinals at Busch Stadium today, and starter Clayton Kershaw was on the mound for the reigning World Series champions. Advertisement Kershaw entered the game positioned 21st on the MLB's all-time strikeout list. He needed just three strikeouts to tie Zack Greinke's total of 2,978 and four to move past him. Kershaw allowed six hits and just one earned run over five innings on Sunday afternoon, striking out seven. The 2014 National League MVP passed Greinke on the all-time strikeout list in the bottom of the third inning, striking out Cardinals left fielder Lars Nootbaar, who came into the afternoon batting .247 this season. Shortly after Kershaw moved past Greinke, the Dodgers took to social media to react, simply reposting the news with no words. Los Angeles Dodgers' repost.@dodgers/X Kershaw, who was drafted seventh overall by the Dodgers in the first round of the 2006 MLB Draft, is now in his 18th major league season. Entering today's start, he had a 0–0 record with a 5.17 ERA, eight strikeouts and a 1.66 WHIP across four appearances in 2025. Advertisement Kershaw is a 10-time All-Star, a three-time National League Cy Young Award winner and holds one NL MVP award won in 2014. He led the league in ERA five times, wins three times and strikeouts three times. He also threw a no-hitter in 2014 and helped the Dodgers win the World Series in 2020. With Sunday's achievement, the Dodgers pitcher now sets his sights on reaching 3,000 strikeouts as he looks ahead to the next milestone in his career. O-line starters, Sam Darnold progress and more Seahawks stories for Cardinals fans to know A look at some stories from the last week that Cardinals fans should know about the NFC West rival Seahawks. We are 13 weeks from Week 1's Sunday games and done with another week of the NFL offseason. That means we take some time to check in with the Arizona Cardinals' NFC West rivals — the San Francisco 49ers, Seattle Seahawks and Los Angeles Rams. What is new with the Seahawks? Below are a few stories from the last week for Cardinals fans to know. First look at first-team OL in OTAs The Cardinals don't allow reporters to reveal anything about which players are running with which teams or what the practice rotations look like, but the Seahawks do. Their first-team offensive line looks like this right now, from left tackle to right tackle — Charles Cross, Grey Zabel, Olu Oluwatimi, Christian Haynes, Abe Lucas Darnold up and down at OTAs The Seahawks gambled big on Sam Darnold after his one good season with the Vikings. In his first offseason in Seattle, he was up and down in practices at OTAs. LB Jones progressing from offseason surgery LB Ernest Jones re-signed with the team and had offseason knee surgery. But he is making progress. While he has not done team drills in OTAs, he has been participating in walkthroughs and individual drills. 100% attendance OTAs are voluntary, but Seahawks head coach Mike Macdonald apparently has his players believing in the offseason work. All 90 players on the roster have been in attendance voluntary OTAs. Rookie QB with great work ethic The Seahawks drafted quarterback Jalen Milroe this year. They aren't putting a lot on his plate yet, but Seattle offensive coordinator Klint Kubiak has great things to say about how Milroe is working.
