Shiv Sena (UBT) Should Exit MVA, INDIA Bloc If Committed To Hindutva: Manisha Kayande
In a pointed statement, she demanded that Shiv Sena(UBT) walk out of the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) and the INDIA bloc if it still stands by its saffron ideology. Kayande's remarks came in response to recent comments made by NCP (Sharad Pawar faction) leader Jitendra Awhad, who said, "Sanatan Dharma has ruined India".
Kayande, while slamming Awhad, told IANS, 'His only agenda has been to defame Hindus and indulge in Muslim appeasement. He consistently questions police investigations and state systems just to further his political ambitions.'
Targeting former Maharashtra Chief Minister Prithviraj Chavan, she said, 'We went to the Tilak Bhavan, the Congress headquarters here, and sought its shutdown. This party behaves like the 'Pakistan National Congress'. The term 'saffron terrorism' was first coined by Congress and Sharad Pawar, but the truth is, a Hindu has never been a terrorist. Sadhvi Pragya and Lt. Col. Purohit were falsely implicated, but the NIA court has proven that the so-called Hindu terrorism narrative was fabricated.'
Speaking on Sadhvi Pragya Singh Thakur's claim that there was a conspiracy to trap Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Kayande said, 'She was tortured mentally, physically, and socially for 17 years. Despite being a Member of Parliament, she was denied justice. Col. Purohit, who served the nation, was also a victim of this conspiracy. We welcome the NIA court's verdict.'
On Uddhav Thackeray attending the INDIA bloc meeting on August 7, she remarked, 'If Uddhav ji is attending the INDIA bloc meeting, he must show courage. Shiv Sena's mouthpiece 'Saamana' had earlier criticised the idea of saffron terror. Now, the Congress, which leads this bloc, openly uses that term. If Shiv Sena truly believes in its saffron ideology, it should immediately withdraw from both the MVA and the INDIA bloc.'

‘Regulatory, geopolitical issues' affected 2,458 flights in India in 2025—Modi govt to Parliament
The data was provided by Minister of State (MoS) for Civil Aviation, Murlidhar Mohol, in response to an unstarred question by Congress MPs K.C. Venugopal, Jyotsna Mahant and Kirsan Namdeo. The period in question included flights either rescheduled or cancelled during as well as in the immediate aftermath of Operation Sindoor and regulatory inspections following the crash of AI-171 in Ahmedabad. New Delhi: As many as 2,458 commercial flights were either rescheduled or cancelled across India in the first six months of 2025 on account of 'regulatory issues and geopolitical issues,' the Modi government told Parliament Thursday. Though it did not list specific reasons. According to the written response, Indigo recorded the most instances of rescheduling/cancellations at 1,017 followed by Air India (662), Air India Express (427), SpiceJet (334), and Akasa Air (18). In his response, Mohol also said that the number of passengers ferried by domestic airlines during the January-June 2025 period increased by 7.34 percent when compared to the corresponding period of the previous year. Interestingly, while the Congress MPs sought data on flights 'cancelled and rescheduled due to regulatory or technical issues and foreign governmental disturbance,' the minister in his reply referred to the data as that of flights cancelled/rescheduled due to 'regulatory and geopolitical issues'. The written reply classified airports under three categories: those operated by Airports Authority of India (AAI); leased to private players after 2019; and being operated on public-private partnership (PPP) model. Leasing involves a private company taking over operations and management of an existing airport for a set period, while the PPP model is when private and public players come together to develop, finance and manage the operations of an airport. According to the minister's reply, the average rating of the seven PPP airports—including the ones in Mumbai, Delhi, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Cochin, Goa (MOPA) and Kannur—was 4.99 out of 5 in the year 2024. All PPP airports, with the exception of the one in Bengaluru and Goa (MOPA) scored a perfect 5. On the other hand, the average rating of the six airports leased by AAI after 2019 was 4.94 and that of 15 airports managed by AAI was 4.81. In 2018, the Government of India constituted the Empowered Group of Secretaries (EGoS) under the Chairmanship of CEO, NITI Aayog, to take forward the bidding process to lease six AAI-run airports. In total, the process invited 32 bids from 10 players after which these airports were leased to highest bidders. The leased and PPP airports are subject to routine monitoring by AAI through independent engineers, auditors, and inspections. In his reply Mohol said, 'Investments by PPP partners leads to increased economic activity, which in turn creates additional jobs.' Adding, 'Development of airports leads to increase in passenger movements, tourism development, employment generation and augmentation in circle rates of land valuation resulting in enhanced collection of various taxes/stamp duties etc., in the respective state and contributes to the overall development of the country.' Chalo Delhi Ends…INDIA bloc allies throw weight behind T Cong's BC quota fight
Hyderabad: The Telangana Congress's 'Mahadharna' received major backing from parties of the INDIA bloc, who vowed to support the campaign. While some recalled the Periyar movement, others drew parallels between Chief Minister Revanth Reddy and former Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M Karunanidhi, whose role in achieving 69% reservation in the southern state remains significant. The demonstration held at Jantar Mantar on Wednesday saw INDIA bloc allies NCP, DMK, RJD, Shiv Sena (UBT), and the Samajwadi Party showing solidarity in support of Telangana's fight to secure 42% BC reservation. NCP leader SupriyaSule described Revanth Reddy as the most successful Chief Minister of Telangana. Reassuring support from INDIA alliance partners, she affirmed that the Telangana CM would receive all the support from the alliance. She recalled how Revanth Reddy, who remained optimistic about Congress coming to power in Telangana, had never aspired to become CM but donned the mantle with his positive approach. 'Similar to Karunanidhi's role in achieving reservation being etched in golden words, Revanth Reddy, who represents the new generation of leaders, is second only to him. His endeavour for bringing social justice will also be etched in gold words,' she said. Challenging the cap on reservation, Karunanidhi's daughter and DMK leader Kanimozhi wondered, 'How can there be a cap on justice?' The Tamil leader said that the DMK would stand shoulder to shoulder in the fight for achieving BC reservation. 'This is not just to fight for 42% OBC reservation but to get more than that,' she asserted. Samajwadi Party leader Dharmendra Yadav described Telangana's demand as the demand of all the weaker sections from across the country. He said the SP would remain committed until it is accepted. 'It is the weaker sections who brought the NDA to its crutches. We shall fight until this [caste survey] is implemented in all the states,' he said. Meanwhile, the absence of key AICC leaders, including Rahul Gandhi and Mallikarjun Kharge, caused some discomfiture among partymen. While the Telangana MPs moved an adjournment motion, the lack of support from the party leadership in the Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha has raised questions about the efforts of CM Revanth Reddy.

KTR denies buzz on BRS-BJP merger; warns pink party foes
Hyderabad: Refuting the claims of merger of BRS into BJP, the BRS working president KT Rama Rao on Thursday said the BRS will be there until Telangana exists and also threatened that the party would settle scores with all those who were targeting the cadre. Rama Rao said that after BRS comes into power, they would settle the scores with all. 'A few police personnel are doing extras, we are all noting down their deeds. It is my responsibility to settle the scores of all,' said Rama Rao while speaking in a gathering of leaders of several parties from Parigi Assembly constituency, who had joined BRS at Telangana Bhavan on Thursday. Launching a scathing attack on Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy and the Congress government, accusing them of deceiving Backward Classes and indulging in non-stop political theatrics, the BRS leader strongly criticised the Congress' handling of BC reservations and governance failures. Rama Rao alleged that the Congress party blatantly misled the people on the issue of BC reservations. 'They promised 42 per cent reservations with legal backing before the elections and secured votes. But now, CM Revanth Reddy says BC reservations will only be granted if Rahul Gandhi becomes Prime Minister. Was this condition mentioned in the BC Declaration?' he asked. Drawing a sharp contrast, KTR reminded that KCR went to Delhi with a mission to secure Telangana statehood and succeeded. 'Can Revanth claim he brought back BC reservations from Delhi?' he challenged. KTR ridiculed the Chief Minister, stating that even in Delhi Revanth couldn't stop talking about KCR. 'It appears Revanth is mentally obsessed with KCR. He's suffering from a clear case of KCR-phobia,' KTR mocked. He added that the Congress government was using the BC reservations issue as a diversion while ignoring other commitments made in the BC Declaration.
