Captain Virat Kohli Returns During Qualifier 1 Vs PBKS, Video Goes Viral
Last Updated:
Rajat Patidar led Royal Challengers Bengaluru to an eight-wicket victory over the Punjab Kings.
Ace India batter Virat Kohli was on Thursday seen leading the Royal Challengers Bengaluru for a certain duration against the Punjab Kings in Qualifier 1 of IPL 2025, a video of which has gone viral on social media. RCB won the match by eight wickets to seal their spot in the finals.
While Rajat Patidar may have been the skipper on paper, it was Kohli who wore the authority, and he looked quite confident while setting the fields and instructing bowlers on how they could get the better of Punjab batters.
Whether it was directing cricketers in the field, repositioning them with pointed orders or offering tactical inputs to bowlers, Kohli's presence impacted Bengaluru's masterclass on the field in the first innings.

Punjab's ultra-aggressive approach backfired as they couldn't negotiate the tricky pitch, which offered movement and bounce.
Bengaluru, who are yet to win the Indian Premier League despite reaching three finals since the league's inception 17 years back, gunned down the small target in the 10th over, thanks to an aggressive half-century from opener Phil Salt.
Salt ended up smacking six boundaries and three sixes, including a crisp pull off the star India pacer Arshdeep Singh.
Salt had gotten out to the Punjab pacer twice earlier this season and asked what was going on in his mind during the chase, he said, 'Don't get out to Arshdeep, we played 2 group games (with PBKS) and he's found different ways to get me out, so was just trying to react to the ball."
The game ended when Bengaluru captain Patidar smacked Musheer Khan for a six. Punjab were blown away by RCB but Kyle Jamieson got the home crowd going for a small period by bowling a brilliant wicket maiden that included the wicket of Kohli.
RCB will next play either Punjab, Gujarat Titans or the Mumbai Indians in the final on June 3 in Ahmedabad.

PBKS vs MI Qualifier 2: Who'll win? Prediction, fantasy team; Mumbai eye 7th final while Punjab seek redemption
Punjab Kings face Mumbai Indians on June 1 in IPL 2025 Qualifier 2. The match, which will decide the second team in the IPL final this year, will take place at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. It will start at 7:30 PM. In 2014, Punjab lost Qualifier 1 to Kolkata Knight Riders but won Qualifier 2 against Chennai Super Kings to reach the final. However, they lost the final against KKR. That was the only time they reached an IPL final. Mumbai, on the other hand, reached the IPL final 6 times so far and won 5 of them. In 2011, they lost Qualifier 2 to Royal Challengers Bangalore. The only other times they lost Qualifier 2 was in 2023. Gujarat Titans won that match. In 2013, Mumbai lost to CSK in Qualifier 1 and beat Rajasthan Royals in Qualifier 2 and went on to lift the trophy. In 2017, they lost to Rising Pune Supergiant but won Qualifier 2 against KKR. They defeated Pune in the final to secure their second title. If Punjab win Qualifier 2, as well as the final, they'll become only the second IPL team after MI to win the title after losing Qualifier 1. Punjab and Mumbai have played 32 IPL matches against each other so far. MI have won 17 and PBKS 15. In IPL 2025, these teams have won 1 each. This is the first time these two teams are playing each other in IPL 2025. Their last encounter was this year when Punjab won by 7 wickets. Let's see what AI is predicting about PBKS vs RCB Qualifier 2 in IPL 2025. ChatGPT predicts an even contest, 'If Punjab's top order clicks and they put up 180+, they have a solid shot. But if MI bowl first or chase, their experience could tilt the game.' 'Slight edge to Mumbai Indians — purely on playoff experience and match-winners. But expect a nail-biter!' it adds. According to Google Gemini, Mumbai Indians' unparalleled experience in knockout matches and their recent dominant win in the Eliminator give them a crucial edge. 'Mumbai Indians to win Qualifier 2 and reach the IPL 2025 Final. It will likely be a high-scoring thriller, but MI's experience and current momentum might just push them over the line,' says the AI tool. According to Grok, MI hold a slight edge due to their playoff experience and superior bowling attack. 'MI are likely to win, defending 210-220 by 10-15 runs if batting first, or chasing 200-215 in 19 overs. Their bowling strength and Hardik's leadership should see them through to the final against RCB, though PBKS could upset if Maxwell and Inglis fire early,' it says. The AI tool predicts, 'RCB's experience and key players should see them through to the final, leaving PBKS to face the winner of the Eliminator in Qualifier 2.' Batters: Suryakumar Yadav, Shreyas Iyer, Prabhsimran Singh, Rohit Sharma All-rounders: Marcus Stoinis, Azmatullah Omarzai, Hardik Pandya Bowlers: Harpreet Brar, Mitchell Santner, Jasprit Bumrah Wicketkeeper: Josh Inglis Google Match Prediction says Mumbai have a 59% chance of winning. 'Calm down I'm here': Jasprit Bumrah gestures to MI coach Mahela Jayawardene in win against GT

(Screenshot) Mumbai Indians secured a 20-run victory over Gujarat Titans in the IPL 2025 Eliminator match at Mullanpur on Friday, with Jasprit Bumrah emerging as the key player during the high-scoring encounter that saw over 430 runs being scored. The match witnessed a dramatic chase by Gujarat Titans who were pursuing a target of 229 runs. Despite losing Shubman Gill early, the 2022 IPL champions maintained a strong presence through Sai Sudharsan's 80 runs and Washington Sundar's 48 runs, forming an 84-run partnership for the third wicket. Go Beyond The Boundary with our YouTube channel. SUBSCRIBE NOW! During the intense chase, a notable incident occurred when Mumbai Indians head coach Mahela Jayawardene and batting coach Kieron Pollard attempted to provide instructions to Bumrah at the boundary line. Bumrah, however, displayed his confidence by gesturing them to remain calm. — NihariVsKorma (@NihariVsKorma) Hindi broadcaster Jatin Sapru observed during the telecast: "Bumrah is basically saying 'Relax, I know my job well. I am here. You stay calm and just give me a chance." Bumrah's assertion proved correct when he was brought back for his third over, the 14th of Gujarat's innings. He delivered a precise yorker to dismiss Washington Sundar, a crucial breakthrough that turned the match in Mumbai Indians' favour. Sai Sudharsan: 'County stints reminded me that basics are most important part of batting' The dismissal of Sundar was followed by Sudharsan's wicket, leading to Gujarat Titans falling short by 20 runs and their elimination from IPL 2025. Bumrah's exceptional bowling figures of 1/27 in four overs stood out in a match dominated by batters. The victory advanced Mumbai Indians to Qualifier 2 against Punjab Kings, with Bumrah's season tally reaching 18 wickets, establishing him as Mumbai Indians' premier bowler in IPL 2025.

Shubman Gill's Sister In Tears, GT Coach's Son Heartbroken After Loss vs Mumbai Indians
Gujarat Titans crashed out of IPL 2025 after losing to Mumbai Indians by 20 runs in the Eliminator on Friday. Chasing a mammoth target of 229, Gujarat Titans were in the game thanks to a stunning knock from Sai Sudharsan but were unable to clinch the victory. It was a crushing defeat for the side and emotions got the better of some family members of the GT players and staff. Following the end of the match, head coach Ashish Nehra 's son was seen crying in the stands. Even Shubman Gill 's sister could not control her tears as she was consoled by the people setting beside her in the stands. Gujarat Titans captain Shubman Gill pinpointed the three dropped opportunities that cost them their chance of restraining Mumbai Indians on 210, which would have been a par score following their defeat in the Eliminator in the 18th season of the Indian Premier League (IPL). Mumbai trounced Gujarat with a 20-run victory in a run-scoring fest in Mullanpur, a fixture where momentum swung like a pendulum. Still, signs of MI's victory were written all over the wall after Sai Sudharsan's dismissal. 𝙈𝙄-𝙜𝙝𝙩𝙮 effort on a 𝙈𝙄-𝙜𝙝𝙩𝙮 occasion @mipaltan seal the #Eliminator with a collective team performance Scorecard ▶ #TATAIPL | #GTvMI | #TheLastMile — IndianPremierLeague (@IPL) May 30, 2025 The Titans were responsible for hurting their chances to set a date with Punjab Kings in the Qualifier 2 in their home den in Ahmedabad on Sunday. After being put to bowl by MI, Gerald Coetzee was responsible for dropping Rohit on three in the second over and in the next over, Kusal Mendis floored the opportunity to remove Rohit on 12 after the ball popped out of his hand. Mendis, who was roped in as Jos Buttler 's replacement, was the culprit for offering Suryakumar Yadav a lifeline in the 12th over. The dynamic batter had a poke and gave away an outside edge, but Mendis failed to latch onto it. Rohit added 69 runs and ended with 81(50), while Suryakumar (33) didn't create much of a ruckus and returned after adding eight runs to his score. Gujarat's woes increased in the climax of the phase after Mumbai captain Hardik Pandya deposited the ball into the stands thrice to lift Mumbai to a daunting 228/5 on the board. "It was a brilliant game of cricket, and we were right in it. The last three-four overs didn't go our way, but it was still a good game. Definitely not easy when we drop three sitters. It wasn't easy for the bowlers to control, and it doesn't help when you drop three catches. 210 would've been par for us on this pitch. Even in the last over, we were talking if we had taken one or two less sixes it would have made a huge difference," Gill said after the match.
