The Cleaning Lady Sets Season 4 in Motion With a Major Death — Who Was the Premiere's Victim?
Agent Katherine Russo, who has been played by How to Get Away With Murder's Liza Weil since The Cleaning Lady's first season, perished early in the Season 4 opener, burned alive in her car — yeesh — by members of the Sin Cara cartel for her role in getting queenpin Ramona Sanchez imprisoned.

In some ways, Russo's death had been telegraphed. When Fox provided an official Season 4 synopsis in February, the character was notably not mentioned in descriptions of upcoming episodes. Then, at the start of Tuesday's hour, Russo revealed that she would help Thony and her entire family secure U.S. citizenship by way of S visas, since Thony was instrumental in taking down Ramona last season. Thony, Fiona, Chris and Luca (now played by newcomer Khalen Roman Sanchez) were elated and hopeful as they were interviewed at the local immigration office — and it all just seemed too sunny for a show like this, no?
Sure enough, as Russo pulled up outside the immigration building to sign the family's applications, she was barricaded in her vehicle by Ramona's henchmen, who burned Russo with a Molotov cocktail before her car fully exploded. Thony watched all of this happen, of course, because her trauma supply was apparently running low.
But Russo's demise, unfortunate and untimely as it was, ultimately set Thony's Season 4 arc in motion. After initially planning to escape to Cambodia with Luca, Thony decided to stay put in Las Vegas and stand her ground against Ramona. By the end of the episode, Thony had reignited her maybe-more-than-platonic rapport with Jorge Sanchez — the new leader of Sin Cara, though some members are still more loyal to Ramona — and talked her way into a new job as the cartel's on-call doctor, which will a) ensure her family's safety from here on out (at least, we hope so), and b) allow her to work at a real hospital while she cares for cartel members on the side. As evidenced by a tense phone call with Ramona at the end of the episode, Thony no longer seems scared of anything or anyone… though we'll admit, we're now a little scared of her.

The Traitors fans, now's your chance to do a little backstabbing of your own. NBC will air an all-civilian version of the hit reality competition, TVLine has learned. Typically, The Traitors — which airs on streamer Peacock — features celebrities competing for the cash prize, but this time, ordinary fans will play the game, with Alan Cumming returning as host. (Other international versions of The Traitors, including the UK and Australia, feature everyday people as contestants.) More from TVLine Casting News: St. Denis Medical Pages Ariana Madix, Boyd Holbrook Joins Extraction and More Exiting Chicago Fire Star Daniel Kyri Says Emotional Goodbye to His Character Darren Ritter: 'You Made History' Jon Miyahara, Superstore's Silent Scene Stealer, Dead at 83 Filming on the NBC version will get underway next year; those interested in applying to be a contestant can do so at 'We are looking for smart, strategic everyday people to compete in the ultimate game of trust & treachery,' the website says, with a chance to win up to $250,000. 'We're excited to bring along The Traitors' highly addictive fan base as we discover the next generation of legendary gamers and schemers,' NBCUniversal Entertainment executive vice president of unscripted programming Sharon Vuong said in a statement. 'With our resident host and gameplay master of ceremonies, Alan Cumming, on board to introduce complete strangers to new epic missions and twisted gameplay, this new version for NBC offers a unique opportunity for the cast and audience to meet each other for the first time and we know it will be incredible to watch.' For those uninitiated, The Traitors brings its players to a remote Scottish castle, where a small number of them are secretly designated 'traitors,' tasked with 'murdering,' or eliminating from the game, one of their fellow players each night. But the other players, dubbed the 'faithful,' can get rid of the traitors by voting out one of their own each night at the round table. At the end of the game, if the faithful get rid of all the traitors, they split the cash prize — but if even one traitor remains, they take home all the money. Debuting in the Netherlands in 2021, The Traitors has spawned more than 30 (!) international editions, with the U.S. version bowing on Peacock in 2023. The first season mixed reality TV celebrities like Survivor alum Cirie Fields with everyday people, but the subsequent two seasons have been all celebrities. The show has become a runaway hit for Peacock, winning the Emmy last year for best reality competition. Season 4 of The Traitors is expected to air on Peacock early next year — with a cast including former Real Housewife Lisa Rinna, actor Michael Rapaport and football mom Donna Kelce — and the show has already been renewed for a fifth season. Chicago Fire's Daniel Kyri Returning for ‘Limited Time' in Season 14 — Get Details
Surprise! Firehouse 51 isn't saying goodbye to Darren Ritter just yet. Daniel Kyri, who exited Chicago Fire as a series regular along with Jake Lockett at the end of Season 13, has shared that he'll return in Season 14 as Ritter, albeit briefly. More from TVLine Only Murders in the Building Season 5 Trailer Reveals Roles for 8 New Guest Stars - Get Premiere Date Mark Ruffalo's Task, From Mare of Easttown EP, Gets September Premiere Date on HBO - Watch Trailer Casting News: Buffy Reboot Adds The Studio Standout, Paul Reiser's Fox Sitcom and More 'Back! For a limited time only,' he wrote on his Instagram story along with a behind-the-scenes photo. (See below.) TVLine has reached out to NBC for comment. Ritter was not formally written out of the series at the end of Season 13, presumably leaving the door open for Kyri to return and wrap up his character's storyline. Back in May, showrunner Andrew Newman told TVLine that they didn't have a set plan for addressing his departure, but that there were 'lots of possibilities there.' 'We're going to play with all this and see what we get and how much time we get with Daniel, who we love, and the character, who we love,' she said. The Season 13 finale did hint at CFD layoffs, which Newman acknowledged as a potential explanation for some character exits. The layoffs twist 'wasn't even done intentionally for that, but because it's so in the zeitgeist, people coming in and gutting departments and gutting places, it's very real to the CFD.' 'We're going to have a lot of turnover,' Newman added, 'and a lot craziness going on in the CFD from the top, where people are being cut and moved, and everything's going to get shaken up next season.'
