The Rookie's [Spoiler] Twist Is Leading to a Mayhem-Filled Finale, Says Star

The following contains spoilers from the March 26 episode of ABC's . She's baaaaaaaack. More from TVLine Will Trent's Ramón Rodríguez Unpacks Tragic Twist, Reveals Impact on Will's Three Most Important Relationships The Bachelor Finale: Is Grant Now Officially the Most Indecisive Bachelor Ever? The Rookie: Richard T. Jones Previews This Week's Speed Homage and 'A Lot of Tomfoolery' in April 1 Episode This week's episode of ABC's The Rookie — an homage of sorts to the movie Speed — was ostensibly about the hijacking of a city bus by bomb-toting baddies seeking a kajillion-dollar ransom. But that was not what the hijacking was about. Not at all. About two-thirds of the way through the episode, the LAPD struck a deal with one of the hijackers, after his cohort/brother got shot and needed urgent care. The would-be bomber agreed to drop his brother off at a hospital, as well as release half of the bus' 20-ish passengers. Among those who disembarked was Cassie (played by Last Man Standing's Molly Cook), a pregnant woman who appeared to endure some physical distress during the intense hijacking. But just as the Mid-Wilshire Division team realized that 'Cassie' is the person who leased the house where a near-deadly booby trap had been set for Angela and Nyla earlier in the hour, the 'pregnant' woman went missing. Viewers saw 'Cassie' (real name: Denise) scurry off, duck into a parked car, and take out the government ID card that belonged to a fellow passenger (played by The Flash's Eric Nenninger). After using a gizmo to scan the ID card and upload info to a phone, Denise dialed the person for whom she was working: Monica frickin' Stevens, The Rookie's recurring bad apple (played winningly by Bridget Regan) who has been 'in the wind,' as they say on cop shows, since last season's finale. After gloating about the LAPD's wonderful predictability, Monica reminded Denise that she is being well paid to not ask questions about the true value of the swiped ID card, and that she is to keep her lips zipped, lest any harm come to her actual child. And say nothing, Denise did, after being scooped up and questioned by the LAPD. In the weeks ahead, The Rookie cast member Richard T. Jones told TVLine, Lt. Grey and his team may hear rumblings that the elusive Monica could have been involved in the bus hijacking, 'but we don't know completely. We're still trying to figure it out.' So, is the ABC procedural speeding its way towards another season finale in which Monica will make much mayhem? 'Yes, it is. Yes, it is,' Jones affirmed, adding that the finale, which is seven episodes away, will again require assists from The Rookie: Feds characters such as FBI agent Matthew Garza (played by Felix Solis). 'Some Monica mayhem is coming,' Jones warned. 'She's always stirring the pot.'Best of TVLine Mrs. Maisel Flash-Forward List: All of Season 5's Futuristic Easter Eggs Yellowjackets Recap: The Morning After Yellowjackets Recap: The First Supper

The Cleaning Lady Sets Season 4 in Motion With a Major Death — Who Was the Premiere's Victim?

Fans of Fox's The Cleaning Lady waited 10 months for the show to return for its fourth season — and just 10 minutes into Tuesday's premiere, they were suddenly saying goodbye to a major character. Agent Katherine Russo, who has been played by How to Get Away With Murder's Liza Weil since The Cleaning Lady's first season, perished early in the Season 4 opener, burned alive in her car — yeesh — by members of the Sin Cara cartel for her role in getting queenpin Ramona Sanchez imprisoned. More from TVLine The Bachelor Finale: Is Grant Now Officially the Most Indecisive Bachelor Ever? The Voice Sets in Motion a Surprising Steal as the Battles Intensify What to Watch This Week: 30+ Premieres, Finales and More In some ways, Russo's death had been telegraphed. When Fox provided an official Season 4 synopsis in February, the character was notably not mentioned in descriptions of upcoming episodes. Then, at the start of Tuesday's hour, Russo revealed that she would help Thony and her entire family secure U.S. citizenship by way of S visas, since Thony was instrumental in taking down Ramona last season. Thony, Fiona, Chris and Luca (now played by newcomer Khalen Roman Sanchez) were elated and hopeful as they were interviewed at the local immigration office — and it all just seemed too sunny for a show like this, no? Sure enough, as Russo pulled up outside the immigration building to sign the family's applications, she was barricaded in her vehicle by Ramona's henchmen, who burned Russo with a Molotov cocktail before her car fully exploded. Thony watched all of this happen, of course, because her trauma supply was apparently running low. But Russo's demise, unfortunate and untimely as it was, ultimately set Thony's Season 4 arc in motion. After initially planning to escape to Cambodia with Luca, Thony decided to stay put in Las Vegas and stand her ground against Ramona. By the end of the episode, Thony had reignited her maybe-more-than-platonic rapport with Jorge Sanchez — the new leader of Sin Cara, though some members are still more loyal to Ramona — and talked her way into a new job as the cartel's on-call doctor, which will a) ensure her family's safety from here on out (at least, we hope so), and b) allow her to work at a real hospital while she cares for cartel members on the side. As evidenced by a tense phone call with Ramona at the end of the episode, Thony no longer seems scared of anything or anyone… though we'll admit, we're now a little scared of her. What did you think of 's return? Were you surprised by Agent Russo's demise? Grade the season premiere in our poll below, then drop a comment with your full reactions.
