After waiting, ON channel released the official promo for "Al Ghawy," starring Ahmed Mekky, which will air in the second part of Ramadan 2025.
In 2025, star Ahmed Mekky will return to Ramadan drama with a role that has deep human and social dimensions in his new series "Al Ghawy" on one of the major platforms and Egyptian satellite channels. He will depart from his comedic role for many years.
The 15-episode series "Al Ghawy" follows a format that has become popular in Egyptian drama in recent years: an intense, fast-paced plot without the customary expansion of some long works. In a dramatic human framework, the series explores social and emotional challenges in popular societies, including regret, moral conflict, and the effects of fatal actions.
"Al Ghawi" features Ahmed Mekky, Aisha bin Ahmed, Amr Abdel Jalil, Ahmed Bedier, Ahmed Kamal, and Kozbora as special guests, incorporating a surprising twist.
After Hani Sarhan apologized for completing the project, Mahmoud Zahran and Tarek Al-Kashef were hired as new writers, Mando El Adl, known for his successful dramatic works with a strong visual character, directed the series, and Synergy Company, which has produced many large works in recent years, produced it.
Mekky played "Shams Nasr Al-Adwy," a kid who lost his parents at seven and enjoys breeding pigeons, in the promo.
"Shams Nasser Al-Adwy" in "Al-Ghawi," a young man from Gamaleya who grew up with his family and friends in a bustling neighborhood. However, circumstances drag him into the criminal world, leading to an internal conflict between his upbringing's principles and the lure of a dark life.

The series is dramatic and full of shocks as it shows a tragic conflict between repentance and divergence, good and evil.
His separation from his wife and the kidnapping of his son force him to face a gang that aims to bring him back to crime.
The Mando El Adl-directed series stars Aisha bin Ahmed, Amr Abdel Jalil, and Ahmed Bedier and is written by Tariq Kashef and Mahmoud Zahran.
The work will be broadcast on the ON, Watch It, and "Yango Play" platforms.
The ninth episode of "Al Kabeer Awi," starring Rahma Ahmed, Mustafa Gharib, Bayoumi Fouad, and others, helped Ahmed Mekky win the last Ramadan race.
Ahmed Mekky's "Al Kabeer Awi" has become one of Egyptian drama's most prominent comedies and has been successful for eight seasons.
Mekky chose to try something new this time, leaving Comedy to play a popular character in a dramatic part to prove his acting skills.

Carole Samaha sparks anger for wearing cross inside mosque during husband's funeral

ALBAWABA - Lebanese singer Carole Samaha is under fire following her latest appearance at the funeral of her husband, Egyptian businessman and producer Walid Mostafa, as she was spotted wearing a black t-shirt and a big cross around her neck. What sparked the controversy was that Carole Samaha entered the mosque while wearing the cross, taking into consideration that her husband is Muslim while she is a Christian Lebanese. Comments poured in on social media, with some objecting to the matter, including: "She is supposed to abide by the teachings of Islam because her husband is Muslim," while another social media user said, "Sorry, is there no respect for the mosque? Why are you going to a mosque with a cross!" On the other hand, some people defended Samaha and said: "First of all, may God have mercy on him, forgive him, and grant him a place in heaven. Second, leave people to their Creator. He is a Muslim, may God have mercy on him, and she is a Christian; and she has the right to wear a cross. Why are you interfering with her?' 'Comments that bore the soul. I wish you would respect the feelings of others, without the philosophies of frivolous people. May God have mercy on the deceased and grant patience to his wife and family." Carole Samaha lamented her late husband, the Egyptian businessman Walid Mustafa, who died Saturday, May 3, following a protracted battle with sickness. "Today I lost my husband and beloved Dr. Walid Mustafa," the singer wrote.
