CM Yogi assures swift action on grievances during Janata Darshan

reaffirmed the state government's commitment to swift and effective redressal of public grievances during the Janata Darshan held at Gorakhnath Temple on Friday.

Personally interacting with around 200 people, CM Yogi patiently listened to individual complaints and directed officials to act promptly, ensuring transparent and fair resolution.
"Every problem will be addressed effectively," he assured, instructing officials to respond with sensitivity and urgency. Addressing issues ranging from crime to illegal land encroachments, the CM warned of strict legal action against land mafias and influential individuals harassing the poor.
"No one harassing the weak will be spared," he said.
Several people also sought assistance for medical treatment. CM Yogi instructed officials to expedite cost assessments so that financial aid could be released without delay. He also directed that Ayushman cardholders should face no hurdles in accessing treatment and that pending card be issued swiftly.
As per his routine, the CM offered prayers at the Gorakhnath temple and paid homage at the samadhi of Mahant Avaidyanath.
Later, he visited the temple cowshed.
A group of young martial arts students, mostly girls, met the CM to extend belated birthday wishes. The children greeted him with roses and performed martial arts moves as a tribute. The CM blessed them, interacted with them about their training, and posed for photographs.

THE GONDA district administration has launched an initiative to resolve public grievances by holding 'Gram Chaupal' in villages. District officials led by the District Magistrate (DM) are visiting villages, interacting with residents while receiving their complaints and ensuring on-the-spot solutions to their problems. The government is trying to strengthen public trust in administration through the 'Prashasan Gaanv ki Chaukhat Par' programme, said a statement. Named 'Gram Chaupal 3.0' or 'IGRS Chaupal', the campaign is a research-oriented, data-driven, and solution-focused initiative, the statement said. It began with an analysis of complaints received through the Integrated Grievance Redressal System (IGRS). Under the leadership of DM Neha Sharma, villages with repeated and high-volume complaints were identified. Based on this analysis, 40 gram panchayats were marked as high-priority villages. Relevant departmental officials were directed to visit these areas before the chaupals to assess issues on the ground and ensure maximum on-site resolution. The DM reviews the quality of grievance redressals to ensure lasting and effective outcomes, the statement said. Gram Chaupal was formally launched on June 3 and complaints received via IGRS, Samadhan Diwas, and Janata Darshan have been prioritised. Administrative teams are organising 'samadhan shivirs' (resolution camps) in identified villages. On the first day, the DM visited a few villages where issues ranging from electricity and roads to sanitation, housing, ration, and land inheritance were addressed. Directions for resolution were issued on the spot. DM Neha Sharma emphasised that the aim is not just to register complaints but to ensure 'quality and lasting solutions.' She and other senior officials are visiting the chaupals to verify the sustainability and effectiveness of the resolutions. Case-by-case reviews have been made mandatory ahead of each chaupal, and eligible beneficiaries are being linked to government schemes. Nodal officers have been assigned oversight and reporting responsibilities, with clear directives for direct accountability and disciplinary action in cases of negligence.

Reviving disappearing rivers in every district needed: U.P. CM
Uttar Pradesh chief minister Yogi Adityanath on Friday emphasised the urgent need to revive one disappearing river in every district and turn plantation into a mass movement to combat climate change. On the extreme weather events, he said these are clear consequences of ecological imbalance caused by human activities. Speaking after inaugurating Gorakhpur's second Kalyan Mandapam (community hall) at Surajkund Dham, Yogi called for large-scale water conservation efforts and widespread plantation along riverbanks and catchment areas. 'Rivers are like arteries of the nation's body. If they vanish, water crises arise,' the CM said, recalling how the Gaurdhoiya stream, now being revived, was once a river but became a drain due to encroachments. He sought people's support for the 'One Tree in Mother's Name' campaign. Yogi stressed the importance of reconnecting with nature and involving communities in restoring ecological balance. 'The effects of climate change—untimely rainfall, drought, and ecosystem degradation—are all outcomes of human negligence. It is time for us to take responsibility and act collectively,' he said. In his address, the CM also highlighted the role of infrastructure aligned with public needs. He said development should serve society's requirements and facilitate solutions for common people. 'Infrastructure should not only reflect growth but also resolve the issues of the masses,' the CM added. The newly inaugurated Kalyan Mandap, built by the Gorakhpur Municipal Corporation, spans 35,500 square feet. It has been constructed at a cost of ₹4.52 crore. Yogi encouraged residents to install CCTV cameras outside their homes and use technology for public safety. Calling for active civic engagement, he urged citizens and corporators to form mohalla committees to oversee cleanliness and promote plantation drives. These community groups, he said, will play a crucial role in fostering a healthier and greener environment. 'Government schemes can only succeed when people participate wholeheartedly,' Yogi said. On the occasion, the CM also announced that the 75-bedded working women's hostel being built by Gorakhpur Municipal Corporation will be named after 18th-century queen of Indore Lokmata Ahilyabai Holkar, an icon of women empowerment and devotion to culture and religion. 'The dedication coincides with Holkar's 300th birth anniversary and honours her contributions to empowering women, farmers, and artisans, as well as restoring several iconic temples across India,' he said. The CM also highlighted key development projects underway in Gorakhpur, stating that the city now enjoys four-lane connectivity from all directions along with completed inner and outer ring roads. Janata Darshan held On the second day of his visit, Yogi held a Janata Darshan at Gorakhnath temple where he heard the grievances of over 200 citizens. The CM directed officials to respond swiftly and sensitively to each complaint, ensuring timely and quality resolutions. Later, he offered prayers at the Gorakhnath temple and fed jaggery to cattle at the temple's Gaushala. 'Complete AYUSH univ work by June 22' Inspecting the ongoing construction of Uttar Pradesh's first AYUSH University in Gorakhpur, the CM expressed his strong displeasure over the delay in its completion. He has set June 22 as the final deadline for the completion of all pending work. 'Celebrate Yoga Day' Addressing the public, he urged citizens to celebrate International Yoga Day on June 21 with great enthusiasm in every ward and locality.

HC bench orders UP govt not to demolish any madrassa in Shravasti
Lucknow: The Lucknow bench of the Allahabad high court has ordered that the Uttar Pradesh authorities would not take any coercive action against more than two dozen madrassas of Shravasti district. It also cautioned the state that it would not demolish any madrassas which have approached the court. The bench asked the state government to file its reply against the writ petitions till July 3. A bench of Justice Jaspreet Singh passed the order on the petitions moved by Madarssa Moinul Islam Qasmiya Samiti and 26 other madrassas individually in Shravasti. In April, the UP had govt launched a major drive against illegal encroachments in districts near the India-Nepal border, Bahraich, Shravasti, Siddharthnagar, Maharajganj, and Balrampur, demolishing hundreds of unauthorised structures, including unrecognised religious institutions. Illegal constructions were demolished in Shravasti and Bahraich, while in Siddharthnagar, 12 illegal structures were identified and notices issued. In Lakhimpur Kheri, a day-long survey found no illegal encroachments. These actions target long-standing illegal occupations of valuable border land, which the Yogi govt is determined to reclaim, the UP govt order said.
