The Balochistan government has imposed a ban on night-time travel across several key national highways in the province ami
The decision, which has been enforced through a notification issued by various deputy commissioners, affects major routes in districts including Kachhi, Noshki, Musa Khel, Gwadar, and Zhob.
According to the notification, the restriction applies to public transport, prohibiting travel from 6 PM to 6 AM. The ban covers several significant highways, including the Quetta-Taftan Road, Loralai-Dera Ghazi Khan Road, Sibi Road, Coastal Highway, and Zhob-Dera Ismail Khan Road.
The move comes after multiple recent incidents, including a suicide bombing near a Balochistan National Party-Mengal (BNP-M) rally at Lak Pass in Mastung.
In a separate attack last week, terrorists killed at least eight people, including four labourers and four police personnel, in Kalat and Noshki districts.
Additionally, five passengers were executed two days ago after armed men intercepted a Karachi-bound bus in Gwadar's Kalmat area, forcibly removing the victims before killing them.
Another major attack targeted a paramilitary convoy on the Nushki-Dalbandin highway, resulting in the deaths of five people, including three Frontier Corps (FC) personnel, and injuries to 35 others.
The security situation further deteriorated with an attack on the Jaffar Express by militants affiliated with the Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA). The attackers blew up a railway track, took over 440 passengers hostage, and engaged security forces in a prolonged standoff.
A clearance operation by security personnel led to the elimination of 33 militants and the rescue of hostages. However, 26 passengers, including 18 security personnel, three railway and government officials, and five civilians, lost their lives.
Additionally, three FC personnel were killed in an attack on a security checkpoint before the train ambush.

No casualty reported: Jaffar Express: pilot engine attacked in Balochistan
QUETTA: The pilot engine of the Jaffar Express came under firing attack near Kolpur in Balochistan on Monday. Fortunately, no casualty was reported in the incident. According to railway authorities, the Jaffar Express was stopped at Kolpur station after the incident. The train, travelling from Quetta to Peshawar, resumed its journey after receiving clearance. Railway officials said that a pilot engine is first sent to Sibi before the Jaffar Express to assess any potential threat. It was the same pilot engine that came under fire on Monday. The authorities concerned have started investigation of the incident. Railway police and security agencies have cordoned off the area and started collecting evidence. The attacks on railway tracks and trains have become very common in the recent past. Recently, the Jaffar Express itself was targeted in a major attack during which passengers were taken hostage. Security forces conducted a robust operation that resulted in the neutralisation of the attackers. Last month, an explosion occurred on the railway track near Jacobabad, affecting three coaches of the Jaffar Express. According to railway sources, the blast took place at 10:20am between Sultan Kot and Jacobabad, causing three bogies of the Peshawar-bound Jaffar Express to derail.

Fight against terrorism: Minister urges KP, Balochistan to fulfill their responsibilities
ISLAMABAD: Minister of State for Interior Talal Chaudhry on Monday issued a stern warning to the provincial governments of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan, urging them to fulfill their responsibilities in the fight against terrorism, and cautioning that continued 'irresponsible conduct' would no longer be tolerated. Speaking at a Youm-e-Shuhada (Martyrs' Day) ceremony held at the Islamabad Police Headquarters, Chaudhry said that while Pakistan's security forces are fully equipped to combat terrorism, a successful fight requires strong political support. 'Security forces are fulfilling their responsibilities, but I want to tell the provincial governments of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan, where terrorism is on the rise, to fulfil their political responsibility,' he said, adding that this cannot happen that on the one hand, our security forces and ordinary citizens are offering sacrifices on a daily basis and the provincial governments do not fulfill their responsibilities. The minister warned the governments of both the provinces to fulfill their responsibilities as their 'irresponsible conduct' would not be acceptable any further. Chaudhry said that at present, terrorism is again on the rise in the country. 'Pakistan has suffered 90,000 casualties, including security personnel, citizens and people from every walk of life,' he said, adding that these 90,000 sacrifices were made for ensuring peace and security in Pakistan. He said that Pakistan is fighting terrorism as the frontline state, and if Pakistan failed to combat terrorism, it would have broader implications for regional and global security. The minister further said that the Iranian president assured Pakistan that they will fight terrorism jointly, and this will help in improving the situation in Pakistan. He said that Pakistan is holding talks with Afghanistan regarding terrorism; therefore, Afghanistan also needs to fulfil its responsibility as a neighbour. He said the present government has ended the disparity of salaries between different security forces. Further steps will be taken for improving the capacity of the Islamabad Police and Federal Constabulary (FC), he said. Chaudhary has assured to provide all necessary resources, including modern weapons to the police force. He paid tribute to the services and sacrifices of the police personnel. There has been a reduction of over 50 percent in heinous crimes in the federal capital territory due to the efforts of the police, he claimed. Bangladesh secures 20% US tariff for garments, exporters relieved
DHAKA/KARACHI/AHMEDABAD: Bangladesh has negotiated a 20% tariff on exports to the U.S., down from the 37% initially proposed by U.S. President Donald Trump, bringing relief to exporters in the world's second-largest garment supplier. The new rate is in line with those offered to other major apparel-exporting countries such as Sri Lanka, Vietnam, Pakistan and Indonesia. India, which failed to reach a comprehensive agreement with Washington, will face a steeper 25% tariff. Trump put steep tariffs on exports from dozens of trading partners, including Canada, Brazil, India and Taiwan, ahead of a Friday trade deal deadline. The outcome secured by Bangladesh - home to a $40 billion apparel export sector - reflects careful negotiation, said Khalilur Rahman, national security adviser and lead negotiator. US cuts Pakistan tariff to 19% from 29% after trade deal 'Protecting our apparel industry was a top priority, but we also focused our purchase commitments on U.S. agricultural products. This supports our food security goals and fosters goodwill with U.S. farming states,' Rahman said. Muhammad Yunus, the head of the country's interim government, called it a 'decisive diplomatic victory'. The readymade garments sector is the backbone of Bangladesh's economy, accounting for more than 80% of total export earnings, employing about 4 million workers, and contributing about 10% to gross domestic product. The prospect of higher U.S. tariffs has rattled Bangladesh's ready-made garments industry, which fears losing competitiveness in one of its largest markets. 'While the 20% tariff will cause some short-term pain, Bangladesh remains better positioned than many of its competitors,' said Mohiuddin Rubel, additional managing director at Denim Expert Ltd, which makes jeans and other items for brands including H&M. 'The devil will be in the details as there are questions over issues such as trans-shipment, but overall it's mostly good,' Yohan Lawrence, secretary general of the Joint Apparel Associations Forum, a Sri Lankan industry body, told Reuters.
