Cooper's Bar-B-Q warns of scammers as 2025 Concert Series nears

Yahoo27-03-2025
SAN ANGELO, Texas (Concho Valley Homepage) — Christoval barbecue restaurant and concert hotspot Cooper's Barb-B-Q is warning its patrons of scammers after facing a wave of social media impersonator accounts as the start of the business's 2025 Concert Series nears.
According to Cooper's Bar-B-Que, the restaurant 'banned 15 different scam accounts (and counting)' throughout Wednesday, March 26. It stated that the accounts 'are almost exact copies of our page.'
The business said it would never ask patrons to click on a hyperlink to enter contests or claim giveaways. It advised those who may have provided personal details or credit and debit card information to 'contact your bank immediately.'
The onslaught of scammers comes as Cooper's Bar-B-Que is slated to begin its 2025 Concert Series on Friday, March 28. Running alongside the months-long event is the restaurant's #Tix4Trash program, which allows people to claim free general admission tickets to concerts at the restaurant in exchange for filling a 50-gallon trash bag with public roadside garbage and providing evidence of the deed.

Cooper's Barb-B-Que stated that the scammers typically become more prevalent whenever the business holds a contest.
'This happens every time we do a big contest; even though we do our best to protect our guests, it's practically impossible to catch 'em all,' Cooper's Bar-B-Que said.
The business encouraged patrons to spread the word of its scam warning.
The 2025 Concert Series lineup as of the time of publication is as follows, as per Cooper's Bar-B-Que:

Justin Bieber's Fans Move From One Hit Single To The Next

When Justin Bieber surprise-released his new album Swag about a month ago, he focused fans' attention on lead single "Daisies." That tune earned a huge debut on a number of Billboard charts and has largely fallen since then, although it has been picking up steam lately on pop radio. As people move past "Daisies," they've turned their attention to another track from the same project — "Yukon" — which this week reaches a new peak on several tallies and even manages to debut on multiple Billboard rankings at the same time. 'Yukon' Debuts on Three Charts Bieber's "Yukon," the second official single from Swag, launches on a trio of the rankings in the United States. It opens highest on the R&B/Hip-Hop Digital Song Sales chart, where it begins its time at No. 7. Bieber has now collected 17 top 10s on the list of the top-selling tunes in those styles and a milestone 25 total hits on the roster throughout his career. Radio Airplay Begins for 'Yukon' The same Swag single is also just getting started at various radio formats. "Yukon" opens at No. 35 on the Mainstream R&B/Hip-Hop Airplay chart and just below the top 40 region, at No. 41, on the R&B/Hip-Hop Airplay list. In both instances, Bieber collects his milestone tenth win. 'Yukon' Climbs to New Peaks on Multiple Tallies As "Yukon" debuts on three charts, the cut hits a new all-time best showing on two other tallies. On the Rhythmic Airplay chart, "Yukon" surges from No. 33, where it debuted last week, to No. 17. At the same time, it improves its standing by just one space on the R&B Digital Song Sales roster, leaping to No. 5. R&B Success Keeps 'Yukon' at the Top "Yukon" is proving to be a huge win specifically in the R&B space, as it's being pushed to that audience, while "Daisies" caters more to those who favor pop. "Yukon" holds at No. 1 on the R&B Streaming Songs ranking and No. 3 on the Hot R&B Songs chart, even as it declines on more generalized lists like the Hot 100 and Streaming Songs tally. 'Daisies' Gains Ground on Pop Radio "Daisies" is also slipping on the Hot 100, Streaming Songs chart, and both of Billboard's worldwide tallies, but when it comes to radio, the still-new cut is gaining ground. Three weeks into its life on both the Pop Airplay and Adult Pop Airplay charts, "Daisies" grows to new highs, hitting No. 17 on the top 40 list and No. 18 on the ranking aimed at a more mature pop-loving audience. Another Radio Songs Win for Justin Bieber The cut also becomes another top 40 smash for Bieber on the Radio Songs ranking, where "Yukon" has yet to land. "Daisies" barely makes it to that space as it opens at No. 45, giving the Canadian Grammy winner his thirty-seventh placement on the hugely competitive list.

Freddie Mercury's 'secret daughter' feels he 'belonged to everyone'

A woman who claims to be Freddie Mercury's daughter believes he "belonged to everyone". The Queen frontman died in November 1991, aged 45, and the woman - who is known only as B - has now explained that she "had to become an adult without him". She told MailOnline: "After his death, I had to learn to live with the attacks against him, the misrepresentations of him, and with the feeling that my dad now belonged to everyone. "I cried and mourned my dad, while fans all around the world mourned Freddie. "When you are 15 years old. it's not easy. "I had to become an adult without him, and live all the structuring moments and events without his support. "For 30 years I had to build my life and family without him and accept that he wouldn't be there to share the happy moments with us. For 30 years, while the rest of the world was reinterpreting Mercury's life, his music and all that he had been, I needed to have my dad just for me and my family." The woman claims that she was born in 1976 after Freddie had a fling with a close pal's wife. But Mary Austin - Freddie's one-time lover and close friend - has questioned her claims. In response, B said: "I am devastated by Mary Austin's alleged response. For 34 years, the truth of Freddie's life has been distorted, twisted and rewritten, but she said nothing - with the exception of her comment about the movie Bohemian Rhapsody, which she called "artistic licence". "Here, she has not yet read the book, yet she apparently makes this statement. I don't understand why." B has detailed her life and experiences in a new book with Lesley Ann Jones. The author said: "I am surprised by Mary Austin's response. As a journalist I approached her for interview countless times over many years, but she never once responded. In this book, however, there is only one voice: that of Freddie's daughter herself. "The story is hers. The quotes are hers. Her source is the collection of 17 handwritten diaries that Freddie gave her three weeks before he died."
