BBC Strictly Come Dancing star teases dream career move and it's not what you think
Strictly Come Dancing sensation Fleur East has tantalisingly hinted at a dream career direction she's eyeing.
The versatile 37-year-old, who found fame on The X Factor and dazzled as a finalist on the 2022 season of BBC's Strictly Come Dancing, has also been charming listeners as a co-host on BBC Two's It Takes Two and entertaining the nation since 2019 as the presenter of The Hits Radio Breakfast Show.
Adding to her already sparkling résumé, Fleur is set to take centre stage as Tina Turner in the acclaimed West End musical starting this June.
Chatting with Express Online, Fleur reflected on her remarkable journey to date and shared her aspirations for even more riveting roles.

She said: "I feel like in terms of career, I feel like I've got a bit of the acting bug now. I feel maybe to do more like TV or film, I'd love to do a film. I'd love to play like a powerful woman, like a superhero, or something like that. I'd love to do that."
Addressing advice she would impart to her younger self, Fleur added: "One regret I would say I have is that I was so nervous and so worried about what people would think of me.
"I was so scared of rejection for many years that I didn't step out and do the things that I wanted to do.

"I wasn't brave enough for many years. And then the moment that I found the courage, I stepped into what I feel like I was always meant to do, and I loved every second of it."
Fleur East has opened up about her Strictly experience, sharing that the salsa presented a huge challenge. She shared: "I think one of the most challenging was probably the salsa. So many lifts, and I was quite fearful of the lifts."

She detailed an extra level of fear when performing the salsa, aware that as well as the technique there was multiple lifts, reports the Express.
Along with her acting hopes, the 37-year-old is set to take to the stage this summer at Ben & Jerry's Sundaes in the Park Festival.
Strictly Come Dancing is set to return later this year.

Former TOWIE star Pete Wicks dazzled on the Strictly Come Dancing dancefloor last year. It's thought one of his famous pals is set to follow in his footsteps and take part in the 2025 series Reality TV star Vicky Pattison is reportedly ready to add Strictly Come Dancing to her lengthy TV CV. The former Geordie Shore star, who has pivoted into making documentaries over recent years, is apparently set to get her dancing shoes on ready for the BBC show's new series. Vicky, who was crowned Queen of the Jungle in 2025, was on hand to support pal Pete Wicks during his time on the dancefloor last year. The former Geordie Shore's appearances in the audience didn't go unnoticed by BBC bosses, who liked what they saw. "She has great energy and will no doubt be a hit with the viewers," an insider of said of Vicky, who is reportedly ready to step out of her comfort zone and learn a new skill. A source close to the 37-year-old said: "She's had a continuing rise in popularity and her TV work is going from strength to strength after presenting a serious Channel Four documentary and appearing on Celebrity Gogglebox." Speaking to The Sun, they added: "It's a no-brainer they want to sign her up" The Mirror has approached the BBC and representatives for Vicky for comment on this story. Pete isn't the only former Strictly Come Dancing star Vicky is pals with. In May, it was announced that Vicky would launch podcast inspired by 'female comradery; with Angela Scanlon, who finished in sixth place during the 2023 series. Vicky and Angela will discuss topics including motherhood and internet drama as the hosts of a new podcast titled Get A Grip. The catalyst for the podcast was "female comradery in the face of the ridiculous", according to Virgin Radio UK host Angela. "Being told to 'get a grip' is not a new notion for most women, and is something I've experienced a couple of times (a week!), as has Vicky," the 41-year-old said. "Female comradery in the face of the ridiculous was the catalyst for our new podcast. We wanted to create a fun and empowering space where we can unpick the good, the bad and the bizarre happenings in the world each week as we move through our own lives loudly, unashamedly and maybe a little unhinged. "We're taking the group chat into the pod world and we can't wait for you to come with us!" Vicky added: "For those who know me by now I am never one to shy away from expressing myself whether people want to hear it or not! "So I'm thrilled that I get to do that alongside my partner in crime as we do our best to keep things real and put the world to rights with lots of laughter along the way. I have no doubt we will be bringing a lot of you along with us too." Speaking about Pete's Strictly stint last year, Vicky said: "Like when I found out Pete was doing it, the first thing I did was ring him and see if he was OK. Hundreds of thousands celebrate London Pride with focus on trans rights
A Pride party brightened up a drizzly central London today — although many of those thronging the streets had a serious message to deliver. Tens of thousands took part in the rainbow march taking place in the wake of the Supreme Court ruling on the definition of a woman. More than a million people overall were expected to attend the event, which includes the procession and stage areas, according to TfL Commissioner of Transport Andy Lord. Singer and actor Olly Alexander was among the LGBTQ+ artists who decried the court ruling and expressed fears trans people are being 'villainised more than ever'. The judgement was also criticised by writer Shon Faye and actor Ellis Howard, who stars in the BBC drama What It Feels Like For A Girl. Crowds danced on floats and walked in solidarity around city landmarks after the Mayor of London Sir Sadiq Khan shouted 'happy Pride' and more than a dozen motorcyclists from LGBTQ+ groups led the way. The procession of more than 500 organisations filed from Hyde Park Corner, through Piccadilly Circus, and on to the end at Whitehall Place. Ahead of the day, Pride in London said 35,000 participants would be 'marching in solidarity' in the main procession. Howard played Paris Lees in the BBC dramatisation of her memoir and, like Alexander and Faye, was supporting trans rights charity Not A Phase at the parade. He told PA that 'we're in an incredibly precarious political time' and said Pride this year is 'more important than ever'. The actor added: 'I think it's so, so important that we show up as queers, as allies, and we celebrate. 'Joy is an act of resistance. 'I hope it shows queers of all ages that we stand with you, we are for you, and we love you'. Sir Sadiq said 'it was an honour and a privilege' to walk at the front of the procession. The city's mayor described the event as a 'defiant reminder that we must keep fighting for equality and take a stand against those seeking to roll back hard-won rights.' Ella Morgan, who was part of the Pride in London live commentary team, also reflected on the difficulties faced by the trans community in the past few years after the 'joy' of expressing her true self on holiday. Ella, who came out as a trans woman 15 years ago and spoke at the Metro's Pride Awards, said: 'Now I do feel ironically less happy. 'I'm more scared and I'm conscious of the places I think to visit. 'So I wanted to do things in America, work in America, and obviously that now is something I'm slightly worried about doing. 'I've been to America years ago and I felt really safe. 'Now because of the Trump administration and also I guess because of what's going on here as well, I was afraid my passport was going to be changed from female back to male. 'But I don't think it will stop me, I just think I'm conscious and I'll be worrying in my head a lot, not only about visiting another country but about what people will say and think.' Maisie, 23, said: 'I'm still a baby! 'We have so much time — we have got the whole world, a whole life. 'Now Max is getting better and stronger and fitter. And we are ready to start an exciting next chapter of our time together.' Asked if Max's operation has put life into perspective, Maisie said: 'It really has, and I think we both want to be more impulsive, have fun, travel the world, see new things and make friends. 'It is all the things you put off because of work or stress, and we are just like, 'Do you know what? Anything could happen at any moment — let's just enjoy our life and time together'. So that is what we are doing.' Max, 36, was fitted with a pacemaker in December last year after his mum Babs realised he had 'turned blue' and pushed for him to go to A&E. Fearing he would die in hospital just days before Christmas, Max wrote out a will on his iPhone. Weeks later, he secretly went under the knife again after the device's wires were fitted too deeply, causing Max to experience 'flickering sensations'. I was so certain I'd die, says Max George, I made heart breaking decision in hospital after heart op. He told The Sun on Sunday: 'I was trying to get back to good health, but was still having a flickering sensation for weeks after I had my pacemaker fitted and it was gradually getting worse and worse.' Max was told the procedure could cause a dangerous bleed on his heart, revealing: 'The night before, I was really nervous. 'I didn't sleep much.' The singer was forced to postpone The Wanted 2.0's Manchester Cathedral concert alongside bandmate Siva Kaneswaran in February due to his health setback. But in March, Max returned to the stage to play tortured priest Parson Nathaniel in a musical version of HG Wells' classic book, The War Of The Worlds. And Maisie was also by his side at the Connexin Live venue in Hull as she portrayed his wife, Beth. Asked about Max's current health at the Tric Awards in London, last month, Maisie said: 'He's good. 'He's getting stronger every day. 'We weren't even sure if he was going to be able to do The War Of The Worlds, but he's just been so strong and he's been training every day, getting his body fit and strong and ready — he's good.' Of their summer plans, Maisie added: 'We're going to go to France — it's exactly what we need. 'Just us two, I can't wait.' 'Ticks all the boxes' Maisie and Max became good friends while competing on BBC One's Strictly Come Dancing in 2020. Two years later their friendship blossomed into romance and Maisie relocated from her home town in Essex to move in with Max in Manchester. However, their 13-year age gap caused the couple to face a backlash on social media. Speaking to Fabulous magazine in 2023, Maisie said: 'If it wasn't that, it would be something else. 'People don't understand what goes on behind closed doors in a relationship, and I think they also forget that I'm a consenting 21-year-old woman who's actually been working longer than Max. 'I don't notice the age difference and neither do my friends or family. 'My mum Julia is the one who reads through all the comments.
