BJP to launch campaign to address Operation Sindoor's achievements, objectives

India Today12-05-2025

The BJP is preparing to launch a comprehensive campaign to inform the public about the achievements and objectives of Operation Sindoor, sources said. This strategic move aims to ensure clear communication regarding the operation and its outcomes. The campaign will be executed at multiple levels, covering state capitals, districts, and divisions, sources added. In response to growing concerns raised by opposition parties, the BJP plans to hold its first press conference to directly address the issue. Party leaders will present detailed information on the operation, highlighting the significant accomplishments of India during the mission. The press conference will serve as a platform for clarifying the objectives and the overall success of the operation.advertisementThe preparations for this communication strategy were discussed in a meeting held yesterday at BJP President JP Nadda's residence. Key leaders in attendance included Union Home Minister Amit Shah, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, and Information and Broadcasting Minister Ashwini Vaishnav. Several BJP general secretaries also took part in the discussion, emphasising the importance of effective communication.
Ashwini Vaishnav also met with Prime Minister Narendra Modi to discuss the party's approach to the communication strategy, ensuring alignment across the leadership. The BJP is set to move forward with this plan to strengthen public understanding of Operation Sindoor, with a focus on its objectives and accomplishments.BJP leader Sambit Patra held a press conference today, highlighting the achievements of the armed forces and summing up the developments that have taken place since the beginning of Operation Sindoor. Sambit Patra confirmed that India, in response to Pakistan's unprovoked aggression, struck terror camps and also struck 11 Pakistani airbases. advertisementHe, however, claimed that the armed forces had five main goals and, among them, was the goal to ensure that no civilians were harmed during India's retaliatory strike. "After the Pahalgam terror attack, the PM had promised that we will avenge the death of 26 people. The PM said that the revenge would be beyond the enemy's imagination, and so it was. He had also said 'mitti mein milayenge' and 'ghus ke maarenge'; that is what we did. PM Modi's decision and the bravery of our Armed Forces ensured terror sites were reduced to rubble...From 22nd April till 7th May, there was an atmosphere of tension in the country; there was a demand for immediate action. Despite surgical strikes in the past, Pakistan could not guess when it would be struck," he said. India and Pakistan reached a ceasefire understanding on Saturday and a fresh set of talks between Pakistan and India's DGMO is underway at the time of writing this article.

Govt. neglecting farmers, no info on extent of loans: BJP

The BJP has accused the Congress Government of neglecting farmers and pushing them into misery despite the new agriculture season commencing early this year. At a press conference at the BJP office here on Thursday, Deputy Floor leader in the Assembly, Payal Shankar, said that there is no official information about the extent of loans sanctioned by banks this season and how much has been disbursed so far. 'Many farmers are unable to go for fresh loans due to the 'half-baked' loan waiver scheme, with no clarity on those who had taken more than ₹2 lakh loan,' he said. The BJP MLA said that despite Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy assuring to join the PM's farm insurance scheme, ignored by BRS Government, there has been no forward movement with not a single paisa released so far. Why not CBI? With regard to the ongoing Kaleshwaram Lift Irrigation Project probe, Mr. Shankar questioned why the Government has been reluctant to hand over the case to the CBI considering that there are allegations of money laundering in the case. The irrigation project has been 'corruption ridden' from Day One to the last day with allegations in every aspect of the construction, he maintained, and asked why the Government has been dilly-dallying about implementing the recommendations of the NDSA. 'Don't criticise Kishan' He advised Mr. Revanth Reddy to desist from criticising party president and Union Minister G. Kishan Reddy claiming that the latter has already ensured Telangana got sufficient funds and has been striving for more. The party has won eight MP and eight MLA seats besides bagging two MLC seats which indicates the support of the people, he said. The unfounded criticism directed against Mr. Kishan Reddy could also be a ruse to divert people's attention from the ruling party's failure to implement election promises.
