CARDIFF WILL BE SOUND Major Oasis reunion tour setlist clue as string of iconic tracks heard during soundcheck ahead of first gig in Cardiff
THE countdown is well and truly on for the grand return of Oasis after 16 years.
But locals in Cardiff may well get to hear the group before their comeback gig on Friday.

The set-up at the Welsh capital's Principality Stadium is well under way.
On Monday, the city could hear a soundcheck where a string of songs were blasted out through the open roof, giving clues of what will be on the setlist.
Live versions of their 1995 No1 Some Might Say, 1994's Cigarettes & Alcohol and Fn' In The Bushes, from 2000 album Standing On The Shoulder Of Giants, were all played.
Noel and Liam Gallagher are not thought to have been there for the soundcheck, with Liam posting on X that 'nobody rehearses on a Monday'.

But they are likely to take to the stage to practise before doors officially open on Friday afternoon.
A source said: 'The stage is being set up in the stadium and everything is being tested to make sure the opening show goes off without a hitch.
'The band and their team are very much aware that the world will be watching, so they want it to be the best show possible.
'They will be doing a soundcheck in the lead-up to the first concert so the locals are likely to hear them performing before ticket holders will get to see them.

'It's very exciting.'
In more good news for fans, the group have announced a deluxe 30th anniversary edition of their second album (What's The Story) Morning Glory?, which will be out on October 3.
Liam Gallagher reveals new details about Oasis tour – before quickly deleting post
It will feature five new unplugged versions of classic recordings Cast No Shadow, Morning Glory, Wonderwall, Acquiesce and Champagne Supernova, and is available to pre-order now.
Meanwhile, Liam has been mouthing off on X in the run-up to the shows.

Asked if he's 'seriously not nervous' about it, he said: 'No, coz I've prepared like a CHAMPION.'
To another, he added: 'We wouldn't be doing it if we sounded s**t.'
And he couldn't help but have a playful dig at his big brother.
After one fan posted a dream setlist ending with Don't Look Back In Anger, on which Noel sings lead vocals, another commented: 'Not a chance Liam isn't closing the gig.'

Liam replied: 'Exactly . . . He is the boss but he's not f***ing stupid.'
Clearly he still sees himself as the main attraction, even after all this time.

Oasis set list 'revealed' as band shares first look at reunion tour stage
To view this video please enable JavaScript, and consider upgrading to a web browser that supports HTML5 video We're just hours away from the first Oasis gig in 16 years—and we now have our first look at the stage the once-feuding brothers will share. And perhaps more importantly, the set list has been 'revealed.' Noel Gallagher, 58, and younger brother Liam Gallagher, 52, haven't performed together since 2009 when they announced their split, meaning the world was, quite literally, sent into a frenzy last August when they confirmed the guns had 'fallen silent'. Tomorrow night, after a lengthy wait, the siblings will kick off their string of sold-out reunion shows at Principality Stadium in Cardiff, Wales. Noel was pictured arriving in the city yesterday, with rehearsals underway as they prepare to perform some of their biggest tunes to thousands of adoring fans who will scream every word back. With a mere 24 hours to go, the Oasis brothers took to social media with a teaser video that offered a glimpse of the stage design thanks to an epic drone light show. The footage was captured by a drone flying over the stadium, with the sky lit up in a bright 'OASIS' logo. What's more, reports suggest the full set list has been leaked, with MailOnline claiming Oasis will kick off their set with Acquiesce, which originally appeared as the B-side to Oasis' first number-one single, Some Might Say, in 1995. After the fan-favourite tune will come Morning Glory, with the first half also including tunes Cigarettes & Alcohol, Supersonic, Roll With It, and Half the World Away. As per the publication, Oasis will sing 23 songs in total, the latter part of the concert including Rock and Roll Star, The Masterplan, Don't Look Back in Anger, and, of course, Wonderwall. Ending on a high, the brothers will close with Champagne Supernova, also the closing track on the band's second studio album, having saved their most popular tunes til the end. Speaking ahead of the first show, a source hinted that Noel and Lim are still keeping some distance. For the eighth year, 150,000 festival goers will descend on Glasgow Green from 11-13 July to see the liked of 50 Cent, Gracie Abrams and Biffy Clyro, and you could be there! Full T&Cs apply, see here. 'It's all gearing up now,' they began. 'Technical rehearsals for the band started on Monday, and then Noel and Liam joined them a couple of days later. 'But Liam barely even stayed for the first eight songs before leaving the rehearsals early, and Noel continued on his own.' Nevertheless, fans are absolutely beside themselves with excitement, as the responses to their X teaser video make clear. 'What a time to be alive', declared @SoyNatuVA. Praying that one lucky ticket holder will pull through with a live stream, @mialovesoasis wrote: 'so so excited for tomorrow and i'm not even going'. @DlRTYSHlRT added that those in attendance tomorrow will be 'witnessing history', while @adele_liam told the pair: 'Welcome back I missed you sm'. Acquiesce Morning Glory Some Might Say Cigarettes & Alcohol Fade Away Supersonic Roll With It Bring It On Down Talk Tonight Half the World Away Little by Little D'You Know What I Mean Stand By Me Cast No Shadow Hello Slide Away Whatever Live Forever Rock and Roll Star The Masterplan Don't Look Back in Anger Wonderwall Champagne Supernova The official Oasis account previously shared further details about the structure of the night for the first tour show. Doors will open at 5pm before support acts Cast and Richard Ashcroft perform at 6pm and 7pm, respectively. Oasis will take to the stage at 8:15pm with a 10:30pm curfew, promising over two hours of music. The group will play 19 shows in the UK and Ireland this year before heading across Europe, with tickets sold to 900,000 fans. However, to say it's been smooth sailing getting here would be false. At the end of May, it was claimed that Noel and Liam still hadn't rehearsed together, with Liam also avoiding studio time with fellow performers Paul 'Bonehead' Arthurs, Gem Archer, Andy Bell, and Mikey Rowe. Instead, Liam, who is set to become a grandfather for the first time in a matter of months, has been chilling at his £4million mansion in the South of France with his girlfriend, Debbie Gwyther. Oh, and he's also been tweeting… Just this week, the singer offended a large number of South Korean Oasis fans by tweeting the phrase 'chingchong'. 'Chingchong' (believed to have originated in the 19th century) is understood as an offensive or derogatory phrase that's used to mock or denigrate East Asian languages. While usually intended to insult people who speak Chinese languages, it has also been applied towards languages and speakers from Japan and South Korea. Liam deleted the post shortly after and responded nonchalantly with 'Whatever' when one user warned he might get cancelled. It's believed Oasis will generate a whopping £400million in ticket sales and add-ons, just from their initial dates. As for their take-home pay, Noel and Liam are thought to be getting £50million each. More Trending But for those gutted to have missed out on tickets, have no fear, because after a disastrous first sale, the group announced last week that more tickets could become available. 'Oasis promoters may be able to release a very limited number of additional tickets for sale once final sight lines are checked and the production is fine tuned,' a statement read. 'These final production releases will happen over the coming days. Ryan Reynolds left in no doubt as James McClean gets honest about Wrexham role
Ryan Reynolds left in no doubt as James McClean gets honest about Wrexham role Wrexham have won three promotions in a row to reach the Championship and skipper James McClean has opened up on the impact of Hollywood co-owners Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney James McClean has praised Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney for their impact at Wrexham (Image: Robbie Jay Barratt - AMA/Getty Images ) Wrexham captain James McClean has hailed the extent of involvement by co-owners Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney in operating the club. The Hollywood duo have rejuvenated the Welsh side since taking over more than four years ago. Wrexham have secured three consecutive promotions under the guidance of manager Phil Parkinson, catapulting them from the National League to the Championship. Former Republic of Ireland international McClean has been instrumental in their ascent, contributing significantly to their recent triumphs in League One and League Two. And the 36-year-old wing-back has commended Reynolds and McElhenney for not meddling with team affairs. The celebrity pair contribute hugely in other areas, helping to enhance the club's profile through the 'Welcome to Wrexham' documentary, offering guidance to the squad, and making shrewd business moves to boost funds. McClean has now given credit to the actors for entrusting football-related choices to Parkinson and his coaching team. He spoke highly of his experience at the club so far, saying it has made him want to carry on playing for as long as possible. "It's class and I've found a place where I'm appreciated," McClean told the Irish News. "People have got a lot of respect for me and when that's the case, obviously I'll go above and beyond to repay that. Article continues below McClean has played a key role in Wrexham's recent promotions (Image: Robbie Jay Barratt - AMA via Getty ) "It has given me a new lease to life, I'm enjoying my football and I feel like I can do this for a long time yet. Rob and Ryan are 100 per cent part of it, but they are very clever men. They are part of it to a certain extent. "They obviously don't get involved with team affairs, they leave that to the managers, but to have owners involved as they are in the right way, it's class. There are no words to describe the impact that they've had and the praise they deserve, because it's absolutely above and beyond." Wrexham are currently gearing up to compete in the Championship after a 43-year absence. Parkinson has strengthened his squad for the challenge ahead, enlisting Plymouth forward Ryan Hardie and Leicester goalkeeper Danny Ward, with more signings anticipated. Despite some analysts already doubting Wrexham's ability to secure an extraordinary fourth straight promotion, the manager is poised to receive hearty backing from Reynolds and McElhenney during the summer transfer window. And McClean is feeling confident after issuing a note of caution against underestimating the club's chances of reaching the Premier League for the first time in their history. The former Sunderland and West Bromwich Albion player said: "The rise of the club from where it was a few years ago to where it is now is great. We'll go into the season with people telling us 'this can't be done' and 'that can't be done' and 'this is a step too far', but with Wrexham it's the old fairytale story and let's see how we get on." McClean added: "We we told two in a row would have been tough, three in a row would be impossible and four in a row is just non-existent and it won't happen. We've done the previous ones, so I wouldn't put it past us doing the unthinkable."

Alex Jones names The One Show co-host who 'taught her everything'
Alex Jones names The One Show co-host who 'taught her everything' Carmarthenshire's Alex Jones was thrown in the deep end soon after taking up the reins of The One Show, after Jason Manford's sudden departure, but one BBC colleague helped her through Alex underwent a massive makeover ahead for her first One Show appearance (Image: Karwai Tang, WireImagevia Getty Images ) Welsh TV star Alex Jones has told the story of how she came to present The One Show, and credits the BBC show's Friday presenter, Chris Evans, with teaching her "everything" she needed to know about anchoring a live television programme. Speaking to Mark Wogan on his Spooning podcast, Alex explained that she had initially been contacted by The One Show producers in 2010, after then-hosts Adrian Chiles and Christine Lampard had both decided to quit. She explained that, at first, she hadn't taken the phone call about the job very seriously, not realising that she had been shortlisted as a potential presenter. She was joined for her initial One Show run by Jason Manford, with Chris Evans filling in on Fridays (Image: John Phillips, UK Press via Getty Images ) Assuming that the BBC wanted her to just report on a few segments, she turned them down, explaining that she was "too busy" with other work: "I was doing a surfing programme, a poker programme, a holiday programme, a fashion programme, and just in general, like, a bit of a chat show as well on BBC Wales. So I was quite busy, and I thought they meant to be a reporter." However, when the voice on the other end of the phone informed Alex she was being considered as a potential presenter, she decided that it was someone "winding her up," and put the phone down. Article continues below It was only later that she was persuaded the offer was genuine: "We did six weeks of auditions with various people. And ultimately myself and Jason Manford got the job." Alex enjoyed an easy on-screen rapport with Chris (Image: Eamonn McCormack, WireImagevia Getty Images ) Alex had a makeover, involving a haircut and complete wardrobe rethink to make her look less like a surfer chick and more like a tea-time presenter, and began her brief on-screen partnership with Jason. She recalled how she and Jason were booked into a posh London hotel at first, with neither of them having a permanent residence in London at the time: "Jason and I didn't know anybody in London when we came, so we were like two students ... "We lived in this hotel in Sloane Square, which was so weird. And I remember that shepherd's pie was £37, and we couldn't believe how expensive it was. We were living this funny life where we didn't know anybody. She credits Chris with teaching her 'everything' about live TV (Image: Simon James, GC Imagesvia Getty Images ) Article continues below "And after each show, we'd go to the cinema like two kids, because we didn't know anybody who were far away from our families. And then we'd eat this expensive shepherd's pie and complain to the BBC that it was £37 pounds, and why aren't you giving us any expenses?" But it was her rapport with Jason's Friday afternoon stand-in, Chris Evans that really helped her find her feet, she says: "I still have a real soft spot for him. And he, actually, was the one that taught me everything I know." After Jason left the show, Chris made it his business to help Alex feel at home in the new London media world she had found herself in: "We just got on like a house on fire and had the best time. And just every Friday, we'd go out after the show. That's when I sort of settled into London, I think," she recalled.
