I created the meme at the center of Lizzo's American Eagle feud with Sydney Sweeney... here is what I REALLY think
The 37-year-old re-posted a meme of herself recreating the controversial poster advertising jeans - but where exactly did it originate?
The singer - who has been vocal about her left-leaning politics - took to Instagram with an AI-generated image of herself in the same denim outfit and pose as Sydney.
The intention behind Lizzo's post appeared to be a criticism of the ad - as fans rushed to throw support behind her clap back at the brand.
But the original creator of the image, Kevin Flynn, has since spoken to Daily Mail about how he became embroiled in the public feud.
He revealed that he had no idea Lizzo would repost the photo or that it would become the center of high-profile celebrity drama.
Kevin said a friend sent him the first TMZ article about the meme but he didn't recognize it at first.
He explained: 'I saw it and said, "Why does that look familiar?" Then I realized I made it. And I think it's hilarious. She made an entire music video recreating the meme, and made a whole new song about it.
'She wasn't even involved in this whatsoever until the meme. That is insanely funny to me.'
After the post went viral and the story was picked up by national news outlets, Kevin proudly did a victory lap on his X (formerly Twitter) and Instagram pages, writing: 'So, funny story, but I think I started a full blown beef between Lizzo and Sydney Sweeney.
'Lizzo reposted my AI meme from yesterday calling out Sydney Sweeney and now it's all over TMZ lmao…'
Lizzo fans interpreted the meme as having a significant political message, with the most liked comment on the singer's post reading: 'My jeans are black. My genes built this country. My jeans are made from the same cotton this country was built on.'
One tweet about the meme read: 'Lizzo's "meme heard round the world" was made to unify Black woman in a time when Trump's America is focused on white genetics.'
But Kevin has since fired back.
He responded on social media, jokingly writing: 'Actually it was made by a white person... and I made it with hate in my heart.'
He also screenshotted the interaction and posted it to his Instagram.
The mastermind behind the 'WhitePeopleHumor' page has become known for making outrageous statements in an attempt to elicit reactions and engagement from people on both sides of the political spectrum.
Asked whether he was trying to get a political message across with the meme, Kevin told the Daily Mail: 'I'm never trying to send a message. It's always about humor and making people laugh.
'The second I start actually caring about things, especially two women fighting, the less funny it becomes.'
A later post from his Instagram page making fun of Trump had a caption that read: 'Hey MAGA people following from the Lizzo debacle, just a quick note, but we make fun of everyone on this page…'
So what inspired Kevin to create the image if it wasn't politically motivated?
The meme creator said: 'Honestly I was just trying to justify my monthly AI subscriptions. I tried Grok first but it didn't look like Lizzo enough. I kept prompting it... but I just went with ChatGPT and it nailed it on the first try.'
When it comes to his thoughts on the American Eagle ad that kicked off the controversy, Kevin said: 'I don't think it was originally meant to be about race. I could be wrong.
'From a marketing perspective it boosted American Eagle's market value by $400 million so it was definitely successful.'
Kevin's original post of the image on July 30 included a watermark with his name on the top right of the meme, but that watermark was notably absent from the version Lizzo posted to her account.
Either the singer removed the watermark herself before posting, or she lifted the meme from a different repost which had already removed it.
Kevin regularly creates original content and memes for his 'WhitePeopleHumor' Instagram page and other social media pages that he manages, which in total boast around 20 million followers across accounts.
Meme creators rarely receive credit for their work as the images they create get reposted and shared countless times.
But Kevin is unbothered by the lack of public acknowledgment and happy with the way the meme he created took off and became part of a national conversation.
Kevin said: 'I didn't even ask for credit. Honestly I don't think it would have gone as viral as it did if she did credit me. Her taking ownership and making it all about her being Black made it a race thing that every news channel went with.

TIFF pulls documentary on 2023 Hamas attack from festival lineup, citing footage rights issue
The Toronto International Film Festival has pulled from its lineup a documentary on Hamas ' 2023 attack into Israel over what the festival says was a footage rights issue. Organizers for the festival acknowledged Tuesday that they withdrew Canadian filmmaker Barry Avrich's 'The Road Between Us: The Ultimate Rescue' after initially offering the film a spot in the upcoming edition of TIFF. The film chronicles the story of retired Israeli Gen. Noam Tibon, whose efforts to save his family and others during the Oct. 7, 2023 attack was profiled in a '60 Minutes' segment. Representatives for the festival said in a statement that the film's invitation 'was withdrawn by TIFF because general requirements for inclusion in the festival, and conditions that were requested when the film was initially invited, were not met, including legal clearance of all footage.' 'The purpose of the requested conditions was to protect TIFF from legal implications and to allow TIFF to manage and mitigate anticipated and known risks around the screening of a film about highly sensitive subject matter, including potential threat of significant disruption,' the festival said. The filmmakers, though, say the festival is engaging in 'censorship' by denying the film a place in the festival. 'We are shocked and saddened that a venerable film festival has defied its mission and censored its own programming by refusing this film," the filmmaking team said in a statement. 'Ultimately, film is an art form that stimulates debate from every perspective that can both entertain us and make us uncomfortable.' Deadline, which first reported the news, reported that a sticking point related to the identification and legal clearance of Hamas militants' own livestreaming of the attack. Festival organizers didn't respond to requests for further comment Wednesday. The filmmakers pledged to release the film regardless: 'We invite audiences, broadcasters and streamers to make up their own mind, once they have seen it.' The Toronto International Film Festival has sometimes prompted headlines over its selections. Last year, it canceled screenings of 'Russians at War,' a documentary about Russian soldiers in the war with Ukraine. Protesters in Toronto called the film Russian propaganda. After the festival paused screenings due to 'significant threats,' 'Russians at War' was quietly screened toward the end of the festival. The 50th Toronto International Film Festival runs Sept. 4–14.

Machine Gun Kelly theorizes he has ALIEN lineage after mother revealed she may have been abducted by UFO
Machine Gun Kelly suspects he may have an extraterrestrial background. The rapper, 35, revealed he has considered the possibility that he may have alien lineage thanks to several mysteries in his life, including his body's ability to quickly recover from injuries. Adding fuel to the theory, MGK says his mother suspects she may have been abducted by a UFO at one point - which may explain for the rapper's quirks. The can of worms was opened after MGK - real name Colson Baker - admitted he didn't know his true age during an appearance on Watch What Happens Live. 'It's a weird thing, dude, I don't know if my age, I don't know if it exists,' he said. 'Wow! You have a Mariah Carey connection to your age? Which is, it's very fluid.' Host Andy Cohen asked. 'I don't know many facts about my life, so I don't know, I'm starting to just be like, like my skin, like if it rips open, it heals really quick,' he said. 'How?' an intrigued Andy asked. 'There's just things where I'm starting to be like, "Who's my dad?"' MGK continued. 'Do you think that you could be like otherworld?' Andy asked. 'I've asked my mom, I said, "Any period of time you went like missing, off Earth?... Ever a tall, slender creature?"' he said. 'She told me she felt like she got abducted at one point.' 'So there may be something to this!' Andy said. 'No, there really is!' he said. 'I'm bad at talking, I shouldn't have came on a talk show.' MGK has had a strained relationship with his parents. The rapper was born in Houston to missionary parents, but his mom left home when he was young for another man. The musician became estranged from his mother, but they reconnected in 2022. MGK also endured a difficult relationship with his father for many years. His dad sadly passed away in 2020. The speculation about his heritage wasn't all MGK discussed on the show. The Beyond The Lights actor also had a dramatic three-word response to rumors he may have struck up a romance with Sydney Sweeney. Earlier this year the duo were seen getting close at the star-studded opening of the Palm Tree Beach Club at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas. The rapper was asked about the speculation during an appearance on Watch What Happens Live - and it was clear he didn't want to discuss the Euphoria star, 27. Viewer 'Kyle P.' submitted a question asking MGK about the matter, and the actor did not shy away from telling the curious fan exactly how he felt about the topic. 'MGK, Kyle P. wants to know if there's any truth you and Sydney Sweeney were more than just friends?' Host Andy Cohen, 57, asked, reading the viewer-submitted question. 'Kyle P., shut up dude,' MGK said, garnering laughter from the studio. The rapper sparked romance rumors earlier this year after they were seen chatting at the opening of the Palm Tree Beach Club at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas; Sydney pictured in Los Angeles earlier this month MGK and Sydney have known each other since starring together in the 2021 film Downfalls High, which MGK also directed. But in May, the pair looked extra chummy as they spoke with one another at the Las Vegas party. At the time, MGK had recently split from Megan Fox, with the couple welcoming their first child together two months prior (MGK also has a daughter with ex Emma Cannon and Megan has three kids with ex Brian Austin Green). In exclusive Daily Mail video, Kelly and Sweeney were seen getting close and chatting. They were also seen sharing a fierce embrace in photos obtained by Page Six. Not only that, but they made appearances in one another's social media accounts as they posted about the bash. Sydney appeared in a silly selfie MGK posted that also included Patrick Schwarzenegger and hairstylist Glen Oropeza. The selfie was one of several MGK included in a post that he captioned, 'stop what you're doing these pictures are v important.' The Euphoria star also posted the results of a snap she took with MGK and the White Lotus star. Sydney's love life has been making headlines ever since her breakup with longtime fiancé Jonathan Davino. The actress split from Jonathan earlier this year in January, but news of the separation didn't come to light until March.

Motley Crue's Vince Neil sparks health concerns with stiff performance
Mötley Crüe frontman Vince Neil sparked health concerns from fans with his stiff solo performance with a backing band at the Bethel Woods Center for the Arts in Bethel, NY on August 3. The 64-year-old glam metal rocker was singing his 1987 hit Girls, Girls, Girls with a faraway expression in his eyes, which continuously darted down to read the lyrics off a teleprompter. 'Great to be back on stage rocking out the last three nights with my brothers Stephen Pearcy "Ratt" and @bretmichaelsofficial!' Vince - who boasts 2.2M social media followers - wrote on August 4. 'Thanks to all the fans that made it out. I hope to see you in Vegas this fall!' However, concertgoer Tara Adams uploaded the now viral footage to Instagram where user @70brand commented: 'He even looks like he doesn't want to be there.' Instagram user @b_r_i_a_n_7_6 scoffed: 'He's making Corey Feldman look good.' 'My god,' Instagram user @ marveled. 'He's reading the words from the stage.' 'This is sad, out of being concerned for Vince. No need to kick somebody when they're down. This is not good,' YouTube user @shawnstarks1743 wrote. YouTube user @jasonscott5101 commented: 'Damn! This band needs a singer.' 'Jesus Christ, Ozzy sounded better than this two weeks before he died,' YouTube user @thefilmlodge blasted. 'This is embarrassing.' Ironically, Mötley Crüe was unable to attend the late Ozzy Osbourne's final concert in England on July 5 because as bassist Nikki Sixx tweeted on July 10: 'We have been having health issues within the band…' Neil (last name Wharton) performed for the first time in nearly a year on August 1 at MGM Music Hall in Boston where he thanked fans for their patience. 'I had a medical thing that happened to me, and they said I wouldn't be back on stage again,' the three-time Grammy nominee revealed onstage. 'I said, "[expletive] that, man!" And I'm back and I'm with you guys tonight. And I'm really proud to be here, man. Thank you so much.' Vince took another blow last May when he ended his nearly 15-year relationship with girlfriend Rain Hannah 'because one of his assistants alleged she was cheating on him' - according to TMZ . Mötley Crüe kick off their postponed 10-date Las Vegas residency on September 12 at Dolby Live at Park MGM after having to reschedule due to Neil's recovery. The band's current lineup also includes bassist Nikki Sixx, drummer Tommy Lee, and guitarist John 5 - who replaced founding member Mick Mars in 2022. The 74-year-old bass player - who retired due to ongoing health issues - is now suing his bandmates for unpaid royalties. Mötley Crüe - which averages 11.5M monthly listeners on Spotify - was founded in 1981, and they've sold over 100M records worldwide including nine Top 10 albums on the US Billboard 200 chart. The Dogs of War singer went solo from 1992-1997 and released three studio albums.
