‘Now You See Me 4' in the Works With Director Ruben Fleischer
The Now You See Me franchise is set to make a fourth movie appear.
Ruben Fleischer has signed a deal to develop and direct a fourth entry in the action-heist film series, with Lionsgate Motion Picture Group chair Adam Fogelson announcing the news Tuesday at CinemaCon. The original 2013 feature Now You See Me centers on a group of magicians who perpetrate robberies during their performances.

Also announced at the Las Vegas event was the news that the forthcoming third film in the franchise is newly titled Now You See Me: Now You Don't. Fleischer helmed the movie that hits theaters Nov. 14 and includes returning franchise stars Jesse Eisenberg, Mark Ruffalo, Woody Harrelson, Dave Franco, Isla Fisher and Morgan Freeman. Among the cast additions for the film are Ariana Greenblatt, Justice Smith, Dominic Sessa and Rosamund Pike.
'Ruben has delivered all of the twists and turns and sleight-of-hand that audiences expect from this franchise while upping the stakes and scale in every way,' Fogelson said. 'We can't wait for audiences to discover what he's done with the third film and thrilled he'll be making even more magic with us.'
Producers on the fourth film include Bobby Cohen, who has worked on all the titles in the franchise, and Secret Hideout's Alex Kurtzman. Meredith Wieck oversees the new one for the studio.
The Now You See Me franchise, which includes the 2016 sequel, has collected $687 million globally.
'Directing Now You See Me: Now You Don't was as much fun as making any movie in my career,' added Fleischer. 'It combines two of my favorite things — heist movies and magic — and working with this incredible cast was truly magical. Of course I want to keep it going.'
Robert Melnik negotiated the deal for Lionsgate. Fleischer is represented by CAA and Sloane Offer.
CinemaCon is the annual event for exhibitors and Hollywood studios that runs this year from March 31 to April 3. It is presented by Cinema United (formerly the National Association of Theater Owners).

George Clooney-Produced Ohio State Abuse Doc Gets Date, Trailer From HBO
HBO's documentary about a sexual abuse scandal in the Ohio State University athletic department has a premiere date. The premium outlet will debut Surviving Ohio State, which counts George Clooney among its producers, on June 17 (it will also stream on Max). The film features several survivors of abuse at the hands of Dr. Richard Strauss, an Ohio State athletics doctor from 1978-98, telling the stories of what happened to them and how they have tried to hold the university accountable for Strauss' actions. Co-president of Lionsgate movie studio dies of cancer at 55
Jason Constantine, co-president of the Lionsgate Motion Picture Group, died Tuesday at his home in Los Angeles after a long fight with brain cancer. He was 55. Constantine was a Lionsgate veteran, beginning his career more than 25 years ago at its predecessor company Trimark Pictures as a director of acquisitions, the Santa Monica-based firm said. At Lionsgate, he was involved in several of the Santa Monica-based studio's key franchises, including 'John Wick,' and 'Saw,' which he pushed Lionsgate to acquire early on after watching a brief concept short. He was also closely associated with films including best picture Oscar winner 'Crash' (2004), 'Precious' (2009) and 'Knives Out' (2019). 'With his fearless spirit, creative energy and enduring talent relationships, Jason embodied the very best of our studio and our industry,' Lionsgate said in a statement. 'His career was built around the principles that a great idea can come from anywhere, a box office triumph is meant to be shared by an entire team and our creative choices need to be bold and daring.' Constantine is survived by his wife, Kristin, and his sons Lucas, Xander and Nicholas.
