xAI's Grok Models are Now on Oracle Cloud Infrastructure
"Grok 3 represents a leap forward in AI capabilities and Oracle's advanced data platform will accelerate its impact on enterprises,' said Jimmy Ba, co-founder, xAI. 'This collaboration between xAI and Oracle is set to redefine enterprise-grade AI.'
Founded in March 2023, xAI is at the forefront of AI innovation, building technologies that push the boundaries of human understanding. Grok 3, xAI's latest model, has reasoning capabilities refined through large-scale reinforcement learning with high performance in mathematics, coding, and universal understanding. To provide organizations with a path to strong data governance, management, and security, xAI models are augmented with OCI's enterprise-grade capabilities. In addition, all data sent by Oracle to Grok models is processed on zero data retention endpoints, offering an extra layer of protection.

Similarly, data from McKinsey's 2023 annual AI survey underscores that AI is no longer optional but integral across diverse industries including healthcare, finance, and manufacturing, emphasizing the urgency for higher education to integrate AI as a foundational element across its programs. The urgency of integrating AI into all areas of study has been emphasized by leading educators and economists alike. In contrast, universities that deploy AI tools adaptive learning systems, predictive analytics, and AI-powered support report improved outcomes. One case study cited a reduction in dropout rates and increased academic success tied to AI adoption. With global EdTech investments projected into the hundreds of billions, universities that lag now jeopardize both their students' futures and their own viability. Some institutions are leading by example. The University of Florida has taken a bold step by requiring all students to complete foundational AI courses plus ethical AI instruction, regardless of major, thereby fostering AI literacy across disciplines. Similarly, Clemson and Georgia Tech are creating ethical, practical, and collaborative AI models on campus that educate students on both the potential and caveats of AI-enabled innovation. Universities that avoid integrating AI risk more than becoming outdated; they risk producing graduates unprepared for a world where AI is the default, not the exception. Kuwait has been recognized as an 'AI Practitioner' in a recent study by Boston Consulting Group (BCG). This positions the country among 30 forward-looking economies actively integrating AI across key sectors, according to the report titled "GCC AI Pulse: Mapping the Region's Readiness for an AI-Driven Future" by BCG. The report, based on BCG's 2025 AI Maturity Matrix, revealed that Kuwait has earned the designation of AI Practitioner alongside 30 economies worldwide, including Qatar, Bahrain, and Oman. The maturity matrix identified four economic archetypes based on their AI readiness, ranging from AI Emergents at the lower end of the scale, followed by Practitioners, then Contenders, and Pioneers at the high end. With GCC countries yet to achieve AI Pioneer status, which includes the likes of the US, UK, and China, the report highlights substantial opportunities for advancing AI readiness and leadership in the region. Dmitry Garanin, Managing Director and Partner, BCG, said: "Kuwait's commitment to integrating AI across pivotal sectors showcases a visionary stride towards digital transformation. The National AI Strategy underlines a significant ambition that, if supported by a concerted effort in skilling, policy innovation, and targeted investment, can transform Kuwait into a regional AI powerhouse. Efforts to build AI capabilities include the National Skilling Program, which focuses on training government employees, though expanded initiatives are needed to cultivate a robust AI workforce. On policy and regulation, Kuwait is developing an AI governance framework to ensure ethical and responsible AI implementation. While there exists a $7 billion public fund for SMEs, it does not specifically allocate resources to AI, revealing the necessity of targeted financial investment. To accelerate research and innovation, Kuwait plans to establish an AI Center of Excellence that fosters AI studies and collaboration between academia and industry, though additional measures are required to scale innovation. In terms of infrastructure, the country is enhancing its cloud and AI ecosystem, with Microsoft and Google Cloud spearheading efforts to build AI-powered data centers. However, Kuwait's progress across various AI dimensions remains uneven, as illustrated by key metrics: ambition scores the highest at 5, while investments and research lag at 0.67 and 0.33, respectively. To improve AI readiness, Kuwait needs to strengthen data governance, increase investments in startups, and intensify workforce development initiatives. "Kuwait's emergence as an AI Practitioner is a critical first step in the broader journey towards becoming a leader in the AI domain. The stark contrast between its ambitious goals and the current state of skills, investment, and innovation underscores a pivotal moment for policy and decision-makers. By doubling down on developing a deep talent pool, fostering a vibrant AI startup ecosystem, and ensuring responsible AI deployment, Kuwait has the potential to set a benchmark for AI integration not only regionally but globally. Hyundai Motor and LACMA Announce the Exhibition Tavares Strachan: The Day Tomorrow Began
Hyundai Motor Company and the Los Angeles County Museum of Art (LACMA) today announced the exhibition Tavares Strachan: The Day Tomorrow Began, as part of the ongoing partnership between Hyundai Motor and LACMA. Opening at LACMA on October 12, 2025 and running through March 29, 2026, Tavares Strachan: The Day Tomorrow Began is the artist's first major museum exhibition in Los more than 20 new works including Tavares Strachan's most expansive neon piece and one of his largest sculptures to-date, this multi-sensory exhibition spotlights the artist's excavation of histories that have been rendered invisible within mainstream narratives, particularly in relation to the Black together sculpture, painting, text and music, Tavares Strachan: The Day Tomorrow Began transports visitors to unique environments ranging from uncanny everyday spaces to surreal landscapes. In these immersive spaces, Strachan invites his audience to rethink the ways in which we represent and discuss history, and more significantly, what histories we lionize.'The Hyundai Project at LACMA continues to support artists working across disciplines to transcend conventional boundaries,' said DooEun Choi, Art Director of Hyundai Motor Company. Encyclopedia of Invisibility (2018) is Strachan's take on the Britannica encyclopedia. With more than 2,000 pages and an amalgamation of over 17,000 entries, this artwork relays information about people, places, events and stories that the artist feels have been rendered 'invisible' in mainstream (2018) and Robert (2018) highlight the artist's longstanding engagement with space exploration, and in particular the story of Robert Henry Lawrence Jr., the first Black astronaut in the United States. ENOCH, a canopic jar that features a sculpted portrait of the astronaut, emerged from the artist's participation in LACMA's Art + Technology Lab, presented by Hyundai Motor, through which he collaborated with SpaceX to launch this artwork into orbit around Earth.A collection of new bronze sculptures addresses the form and the role of public monuments, not only asking who we choose to commemorate, but also interrogating our broader impulse to laud individual figures. The series installation includes Flip Monument (Christophe x Napoleon) (2025), a towering 16.5-foot-tall resin icon engineered specifically for LACMA's Strachan: The Day Tomorrow Began is part of The Hyundai Project at LACMA, a joint initiative between Hyundai Motor and LACMA since 2015. The Hyundai Project at LACMA is the longest and largest programmatic commitment from a corporate supporter in LACMA's history. With a shared commitment to offering new ways to access, understand and experience art, this partnership allows LACMA to make significant strides in two important fields, Art + Technology and Korean art scholarship, which encompasses acquisitions, exhibitions, publications and research. This exhibition is curated by Diana Nawi, Curator of Contemporary Art at LACMA, and co-organized with the Columbus Museum of Art.
