Watch Tate McRae's Reaction to Losing Her Shoe On Stage

Cosmopolitana day ago
Tate McRae is one hell of a performer. Her stage presence has leveled up with three albums and several hits on the Billboard Hot 100 chart under her belt, and the proof is in her Miss Possessive Tour.
While Tate has the range to sing heart-wrenching ballads like 'Chaotic' and 'You Broke Me First,' she's also known for her pro-dancing background and steamy hits like 'Sports Car' and 'Greedy.' For those high-choreography performances, she's adopted an alter ego called Tatiana to step into the zone of Main Pop Girl.
However, she fully stepped out of Tatiana mode during a recent performance in Edmonton, Canada, on August 7, when she accidentally kicked her shoe off while dancing. According to fan-captured footage, her black heel flung to the side of the stage in the middle of her 'Exes' choreo, prompting her to stand still and say, 'What the fuck?!'
Tate laughed it off as she decided to take off her other shoe and lock back in to becoming Tatiana. As the fan wrote, 'our diva continues,' because the show must go on, people!
This isn't the first time this has happened to Miss Tate. During another performance at the same show, she lost her shoe while hitting her marks and had to search for them in between songs.
'Hold on, fuck the music. I need to put my shoes back on,' she said, adding, 'Who took them? No, one sec!' The 'Revolving Door' singer then ran across the stage trying to track down the pair of shoes.
'Okay, we got it back together. Sorry about the malfunction, guys,' she laughed, adding that she tends to lose her footwear while performing in Canada. 'This always seems to happen to me in Alberta. Hometown curse, I guess.'
Tate is a total pro in the thick of her Miss Possessive Tour, which kicked off in the U.K. on June 22. She's currently making her way through North America, hitting cities from Saint Paul to Orlando, until it wraps at the Kia Forum in Los Angeles this November.

Miley Cyrus Says She's Got Something ‘Really Special' Planned For ‘Hannah Montana' 20th Anniversary

Miley Cyrus can't quit Hannah Montana. The singer who rose to fame playing the teen who secretly moonlighted as pop star Montana on the show that debuted on the Disney Channel on March 24, 2006, told SiriusXM's TikTok Radio recently that she's working on something 'really, really special' to commemorate the series' 20th anniversary. 'I want to design something really, really special for it because it really was the beginning of all of this that now sits here today,' Cyrus said to host Chris Olsen about the show's March 2026 anniversary. 'Without Hannah, there really wouldn't be this kind of… this me. It's so crazy to think, too, that I started as a character that I thought was going to be impossible to shed. And now that's something that when I walk into a space, it's looked at as this sense of nostalgia or something that you have from your childhood, but I've now been as kind of integrated into everyone's life as the character itself. So that's exciting to get to celebrate that.' Miley Cyrus' Wild House Party Video For ‘We Can't Stop' Hits One Billion Views on YouTube

Everything's coming up billions for Miley Cyrus. The singer is celebrating the news that her fifth video has crossed the one billion views mark on YouTube. The latest track to reach that hallowed height is Miley's 2013 lead Bangerz single 'We Can't Stop,' the party-starting anthem written and produced by Mike Will Made It, P-Nasty and R. City, with additional lyrics from the singer and a sample of Doug E. Fresh's hip -hop classic 'La Di Da Di.' The turn-up tune topped out at No. 2 on the Billboard Hot 100 at the time of release, notably blocked from No. 1 by Robin Thicke's 'Blurred Lines' — Cyrus and Thicke would perform a legendarily raunchy, suggestive medley of their respective hit songs at the 2013 MTV Video Music Awards. Wildfires: 'I Was Panicking' Tool and Weezer to Headline Australia's Good Things Festival Despite some grumbling about the suggestive content of the 'We Can't Stop' clip at the time from critics struggling to wrap their heads around the then-21-year-old Disney star's transition from kid-friendly pop singer to hip-hop adjacent provocateur, the video blew up right away. It set a record at the time on Vevo for most views in the first 24 hours, then another record after getting hitting Vevo Certified status for 100 million views in just over a month for a visual Billboard described at the time as 'subversive, mesmerizing and unhinged.' The Diane Martel-directed video definitely painted Cyrus in a whole different light. Wearing golden grillz and writhing on a bed in a white bra and hot pants, it finds the singer surrounded by friends who eat sandwiches made out of $100 bills, building french fry skulls, twerking and butt-slapping, pretending to slice off their fingers and dirty dancing with giant teddy bears. From scenes of Miley in a fishnet bathing suit making out with a doll wearing a similar outfit to the singer smashing a giant beer bottle piñata filled with hot dogs and winking drug references to 'dancing with Molly', the loud and proud debauchery finds its thesis statement in the refrain, 'And we can't stop/ And we won't stop/ We run things they don't run we/ Don't take nothing from nobody.' Cyrus had previously crossed the one-billion views mark with 2013's Billboard Hot 100 No. 1 'Wrecking Ball,' as well as 2009's 'Party in the U.S.A.,' 2013's '23' with Mike WiLL Made-It, Wiz Khalifa and Juicy J and her other No. 1 hit, 2023's 'Flowers.'
