Miley Cyrus can't quit Hannah Montana. The singer who rose to fame playing the teen who secretly moonlighted as pop star Montana on the show that debuted on the Disney Channel on March 24, 2006, told SiriusXM's TikTok Radio recently that she's working on something 'really, really special' to commemorate the series' 20th anniversary.
'I want to design something really, really special for it because it really was the beginning of all of this that now sits here today,' Cyrus said to host Chris Olsen about the show's March 2026 anniversary. 'Without Hannah, there really wouldn't be this kind of… this me. It's so crazy to think, too, that I started as a character that I thought was going to be impossible to shed. And now that's something that when I walk into a space, it's looked at as this sense of nostalgia or something that you have from your childhood, but I've now been as kind of integrated into everyone's life as the character itself. So that's exciting to get to celebrate that.'

Cyrus stepped into the role at age 13 and played Montana over four seasons from 2006-2011 in the teen sitcom that also featured her dad, country singer Billy Ray Cyrus portraying her father, Robby Ray. In addition to the series, Cyrus appeared as both herself and Montana in the 2008 concert movie Hannah Montana & Miley Cyrus: Best of Both Worlds Concert.
The popular sitcom also spawned the 2006 album Hannah Montana, as well as 2007's Hannah Montana 2: Meet Miley Cyrus, 2009's Hannah Montana 3 and 2010's Hannah Montana Forever, as well as the Billboard Hot 100 hit singles 'He Could Be the One,' (No. 10), 'Life's What You Make It' (No. 25), 'Nobody's Perfect' (No. 27) and 'Let's Get Crazy' (No. 57).
At press time no additional information was available on the plans for the Montana anniversary celebration.

Sabrina Carpenter's Star-Making Singles Soar Globally As Her Album Drop Nears

Later this month, Sabrina Carpenter will release Man's Best Friend, her seventh full-length. The pop superstar has only promoted the project with one single, 'Manchild,' which arrived in early June. Ever since, the tune has lived on multiple Billboard tallies, but as it begins to fall on several important rankings in the United States, a number of Carpenter's star-making smashes are on the rise globally as people are still in love with the songs that turned her into a household name only recently. 'Espresso,' 'Please Please Please" and 'Taste' Carpenter fills four spaces on both the Billboard Global 200 and Billboard Global Excluding U.S. Three of those tracks climb on both tallies. 'Espresso,' which could be regarded as Carpenter's breakout single, appears inside the top 40 on the two rankings, climbing to No. 28 on the Billboard Global 200 and No. 27 on the Billboard Global Excluding U.S. Two other tracks from her album Short n' Sweet, 'Please Please Please' and 'Taste,' also lift from where they sat last time around. On the Billboard Global 200, those cuts jump to Nos. 110 and 131, respectively. On the ranking that excludes sales and streams from American consumers, 'Please Please Please' rockets 25 spots north to No. 155, while 'Taste' improves by just a single position to No. 186. 'Taste' Is About to Reach a Full Year as a Smash In just two weeks, 'Taste' will become another one-year winner for Carpenter on the Billboard Global 200 and Billboard Global Excluding U.S. lists. Both 'Espresso' and 'Please Please Please' have already crossed that 52-week mark, and in a single frame, 'Espresso' will become her first hit to make it to 70 weeks on the two worldwide rosters. 'Manchild' Declines Globally 'Manchild' remains Carpenter's biggest hit on the planet-spanning rankings, even if it isn't growing any longer. The Man's Best Friend single dips to No. 22 on the Billboard Global Excluding U.S. while holding at No. 20 on the Billboard Global 200. Sabrina Carpenter's Top 10 Hits All four smashes have reached the top 10 on Billboard's global rankings, which were introduced in 2020. 'Espresso' and 'Please Please Please' dominated the two lists, while 'Manchild' and 'Taste' never quite made it to the throne, though they did peak inside the top five. 'Manchild' Rises on Billboard's Radio Rankings 'Manchild' is growing in stature on several of Billboard's radio rosters, and it reaches a new peak this frame on both the Pop Airplay and Dance/Mix Show Airplay charts, while also climbing on the Adult Contemporary and Adult Pop Airplay tallies. The tune slips, however, on both the Hot 100 and Streaming Songs rankings, though it may rebound as Carpenter continues to excite American audiences ahead of her forthcoming full-length.

Mariah Carey Scores Her First New No. 1 In Almost Two Decades

For more than two decades, Mariah Carey was one of the most reliable hitmakers in the American music industry. The singer-songwriter scored a historic number of leaders on the Hot 100, and many of her tunes became radio favorites as well. Decades into her career, Carey is still racking up wins on a number of Billboard lists — some of which didn't exist when she started — in some ways, she's playing catch-up. As the songstress prepares to release her upcoming sixteenth album Here For It All in September, the set's lead single returns her to No. 1 for the first time in years. 'Type Dangerous' Rises to No. 1 'Type Dangerous' lifts from the runner-up spot on the Adult R&B Airplay chart to No. 1, giving Carey just her third champion on the radio ranking. That seems like a fairly small number for one of the most successful R&B artists of all time, but many of her early tracks were released before Billboard introduced the roster. Mariah Carey First Hit No. 1 20 Years Ago Carey first ruled the Adult R&B Airplay chart in July 2005, when 'We Belong Together' earned its first of eight weeks at No. 1. She returned to the summit the following summer with 'Fly Like a Bird,' which went on to live on the Adult R&B Airplay tally for a full year and racked up six weeks at No. 1. Mariah Carey's First New No. 1 in Almost Two Decades Billboard notes that 'Type Dangerous' earns Carey her first new No. 1 on the Adult R&B Airplay chart in 19 years. The music magazine also points out that, excluding her holiday fare — especially 'All I Want for Christmas Is You' — 'Type Dangerous' is the Grammy winner's first leader on any of Billboard's airplay tallies in nearly two decades. 'Type Dangerous' Is Largely on the Decline 'Type Dangerous' can be found on half a dozen Billboard rankings at the moment, almost all of which are centered around radio attention. As it hits No. 1 on the Adult R&B Airplay list, the track declines on another four airplay tallies, including the Pop Airplay, Adult Pop Airplay, R&B/Hip-Hop Airplay, and Mainstream R&B/Hip-Hop Airplay rosters. Thanks to its continued success at the adult R&B format, Carey manages to climb once more on the Hot R&B Songs chart, where 'Type Dangerous' has previously topped out at No. 7. 'Sugar Sweet' Launches on Several Radio Lists As 'Type Dangerous' begins to descend, Carey's even newer single, 'Sugar Sweet' — a collaboration with Shenseea and Kehlani — dips on a handful of sales and general consumption rosters. At the same time, it opens inside the top 40 on both the Mainstream R&B/Hip-Hop Airplay and R&B/Hip-Hop Airplay charts.

Black Sabbath's Classic Hit Reaches A New All-Time High

Several weeks after Ozzy Osbourne's death, his name still appears on charts all around the world. Multiple tracks and albums credited to the rock pioneer, as well as Black Sabbath — where he got his start — land on multiple tallies in the United States as fans continue to mourn the passing of one of the most celebrated names in metal. Most of Osbourne's songs and full-lengths are on the decline, which isn't unusual at this point in the grieving process, but one track from his group bucks the downward trend and climbs to a new peak decades after its release. 'War Pigs' Climbs to a New Chart Peak 'War Pigs/Luke's Wall,' a double single of sorts, rises on the Hot Hard Rock Songs chart, Billboard's ranking of the most consumed hard rock-only tunes in the United States. The Black Sabbath classic lifts a single spot from No. 6 to No. 5. As it climbs, 'War Pigs/Luke's Wall' hits a never-before-seen high point three frames into its time on the consumption-based tally. Black Sabbaths's Three Hot Hard Rock Songs Chart Hits Black Sabbath has seen three tunes hit the Hot Hard Rock Songs chart, and all of them debuted within the last month. 'Paranoid' stands out as the group's only No. 1, while 'War Pigs/Luke's Wall' ties 'Iron Man' as the band's second-highest-charting tune – or lowest. Previously, 'War Pigs/Luke's Wall' was the lowest-peaking Black Sabbath cut on the roster, but it now shares that distinction with 'Iron Man.' 'Paranoid' Remains the Band's Longest-Running Win It also advances in terms of longevity. 'Paranoid' has spent five frames on the Hot Hard Rock Songs chart, while Black Sabbath's climbing tune earns a third stay, pulling out of a tie with 'Iron Man,' which only held on for two stints. 'War Pigs' Lives on Multiple Billboard Charts 'War Pigs/Luke's Wall' lives on half a dozen Billboard charts, all of which are focused on rock in one way or another. The cut only climbs on the Hot Hard Rock Songs tally, though it keeps at No. 6 on the Hard Rock Digital Song Sales list. The Black Sabbath favorite slips on the Hot Rock & Alternative Songs, Hot Rock Songs, Rock Digital Song Sales, and Hard Rock Streaming Songs charts at the same time. 'War Pigs' and 'Luke's Wall' 'War Pigs' was released in 1970 as part of Black Sabbath's Paranoid album. In the United States, the song's instrumental outro is specifically called 'Luke's Wall,' so in America the track is credited as 'War Pigs/Luke's Wall.'
