Deanne Panday: The Superfit Glam Mom of 'Saiyaara' Star Ahaan Panday

News1822-07-2025
Often referred to as the prince of the Panday family, Ahaan Panday is the cousin of actress Ananya Panday and the younger brother of Alanna Panday. He is the son of Chikki Panday, the brother of actor Chunky Panday.
Ahaan Panday's debut in Saiyaara has proven to be a commercial success, with the film recovering its production costs within just two days of release and now generating considerable profit. His impressive screen presence has sparked conversations within the film industry, with many speculating that Ahaan Panday could become a major name in the years to come; some even suggesting he may outshine his uncle, Chunky Panday.
Amid the growing buzz around Ahaan Panday, attention has also turned to his mother, Deanne Panday. A former model turned wellness expert, Deanne was a pioneer of fitness in India long before it became mainstream. She is now a well-known fitness author and has trained several Bollywood stars including John Abraham, Bipasha Basu, Dino Morea, and Preity Zinta.
Deanne's interest in fitness was sparked during her childhood, inspired by her elder sister's workout sessions with Jane Fonda videos. Alongside her younger sister, she would complete intense 90-minute routines. Her dedication grew stronger during her college years when she funded a gym membership at a five-star hotel through her part-time job.
Born on December 10,1968, Deanne has maintained her charm and youthful appearance through a lifestyle built around yoga, organic food, and self-discipline — practices she adopted well before they became fashionable.
With Scottish, Nepali, and Luso-Indian heritage, Deanne has also featured in Baba Sehgal's pop music video Aage Aage Ladki and has authored several books focusing on stress, health, and fashion.
Ahaan Panday's father, Chikki Panday, is a Mumbai-based businessman, unlike his elder brother Chunky Panday, who has had a long career in acting. Chikki and Deanne have two children — Ahaan, who appears to be following in the family's cinematic footsteps, and Alanna, who has thus far stayed away from the limelight.
With Saiyaara marking a successful debut, Ahaan Panday's future in Bollywood looks bright, while his mother Deanne continues to inspire with her timeless dedication to health and wellness.

Dhadak 2 Box Office Collection Day 2: Triptii Dimri's movie fails to capture audience despite good reviews, mints...

Dhadak 2 Box Office Collection Day 2: Despite glowing reviews, Siddhant Chaturvedi and Triptii Dimri's starrer Dhadak 2 has failed to capture the audience. Released on Friday, August 1, the movie faced fierce competition from Ajay Devgn's Son of Sardaar 2 and the blockbuster hit Saiyaara. This seems to have affected the box office collection of Dhadak 2. Dhadak 2 is a follow-up to the 2018 Dhadak. It is a remake of filmmaker Mari Selvaraj's 2018 Tamil film Pariyerum Perumal. According to industry tracker Sacnilk, Dhadak 2 fell short of expectations. Opening at a meagre ₹ 3.5 crore, the movie could not improve its numbers on Saturday either. On day 2, Dhadak 2 earned ₹ 3.75 crore, taking its 2-day total to ₹ 7.25 crore. Son of Sardaar 2 is currently leading at the Indian box office with almost double the earnings. Its opening day collection stood at ₹ 7.5 crore, and it earned the same on Saturday, day 2. SOS 2's two-day collection stands at ₹ 14.75 crore. Dhadak 2 had an overall 25.81% Hindi occupancy on Saturday Bengaluru, Chennai, Delhi NCR and Lucknow emerged as top contributors in terms of occupancy. Hindustan Times said Dhadak 2 carries a powerful message but fumbles with its storytelling. 'It wants to speak about caste, oppression, and systemic injustice- and when it does, it hits the right notes. But it's weighed down by an uneven narrative and an overstretched runtime.' 'This could have been a hard-hitting social drama. Instead, it settles for moments of brilliance buried under a ton of missed opportunities,' they added. Film trade analyst Taran Adarsh gave Dhadak 2 a 3.5 star rating and said, 'Sharp writing. Captivating, emotionally-charged second half... Solid performances. Dhadak2 works for the most part... But the love story lacks the soul-stirring soundtrack that elevated the first part.' He said that the first half feels uneven, 'a few impactful moments aside, the narrative takes time to find its footing… But the interval episode turns the tide, setting the stage for a gripping and emotionally charged second half.' IMDb describes Dhadak 2, directed by Shazia Iqbal, as 'A searing romantic drama about identity, power, and the cost of love in the world we live in.' The movie stars Saad Bilgrami, Manjiri Pupala, Richa, Vipin Sharma, Deeksha Joshi, Mayank Khanna, Aditya Thakare, Shantanu Pandey, Bala, Priyank Tiwari, Ashwant Lodhi and Amit Jaat in key roles.

Ravindra Jadeja ask England crowd to change t-shirt (Screengrab/AP) Cricket fans at The Oval witnessed a lighthearted moment on Day 3 of the fifth and final Test between India and England when Ravindra Jadeja politely asked a spectator to change his t-shirt mid-match. The moment unfolded while Jadeja was batting, only to be distracted by a fan seated behind the bowler's arm wearing a bright red t-shirt. The colour seemed to interfere with Jadeja's sightline, a common issue for players when trying to focus on the ball coming out of the bowler's hand. Go Beyond The Boundary with our YouTube channel. Kerala Rolls Out Draft Film Policy Aimed At Funding, Gender Equality And Global Reach

Last Updated: Kerala's draft film policy aims to formalise the industry, enhance global presence, and promote inclusivity. It includes financial mechanisms, gender equity, and tech adoption. In a significant step towards transforming its film sector, the Kerala government has released a comprehensive draft film policy aimed at formalising the industry, enhancing its global footprint, and promoting inclusivity. The policy was unveiled on Saturday during the ongoing two-day Malayalam Film Conclave in Thiruvananthapuram. Framed with a futuristic vision, the policy outlines strategic goals including industry recognition for film production and exhibition, improved financial mechanisms, gender equity, and the adoption of advanced technology. It also aspires to make Kerala a regional production hub while preserving the cultural legacy of Malayalam cinema. Declaring that film production will now be recognised as a formal industry, the draft underlines the benefits of transparency, financial clarity, and social accountability. 'The recognition of film production as an industry will bring multiple advantages, enhancing transparency and promoting social responsibility within the sector," the policy notes. One of the cornerstones of the policy is an inclusive financing framework. It proposes a general incentive scheme for Malayalam cinema, with targeted support for women and marginalised communities. Plans are also in place to establish a venture capital fund for film production, with the involvement of private players and provisions for crowdfunding, especially for films with strong social relevance. This fund will be managed by the Kerala State Film Development Corporation. To ensure Kerala remains competitive on the global stage, the policy encourages the production of films in other Indian and foreign languages within the state. A single-window film facilitation centre will also be launched to simplify permit procedures and attract more projects to the region. The policy highlights that India, producing over 2,000 films annually, remains the world's largest film-producing nation. Malayalam cinema ranks second after Hindi, with around 300 films produced each year. In 2023, Kerala contributed over ₹2,000 crore to the national box office, reflecting its significant role in India's cinematic economy. A new Film Development Council, led by Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan and co-chaired by Culture Minister Saji Cherian, is proposed as the apex body to guide implementation. The council will also include an industry representative as vice-chairperson. The draft has been circulated to stakeholders and will be deliberated further during the conclave, which concludes on Sunday. The government reiterated its commitment to consulting film bodies on matters such as fair wages, insurance, and working conditions, ensuring that reforms benefit every layer of the industry. view comments First Published: Disclaimer: Comments reflect users' views, not News18's.
