"It's special because the mixed team is newly added to the Olympics and we've been having such small achievements over time," said 22-year-old Yadav about the world record. "We opened the season with the mixed team gold together [Florida 2025] but we didn't shoot the mixed team the next two stages together."
"Now here in the fourth stage we are back together, and we both shot good so it's interesting and we are happy with the consistency we have together."

The competition at Madrid's Vallehermoso Stadium faced challenging conditions with a later start time of 16:30 local time and intense heat. The event saw an increased number of participants compared to previous World Cup stages.
"The rhythm kicks in and you just keep going with the flow until the last ten hits," Yadav said. "There are people around you are saying, 'You need to do it like this, stay calm,' I'm like, 'OK, I know what I'm doing.'"
"I shot it [716] earlier in the nationals and now I'm here with the same so I'm happy I'm able to keep it consistent throughout well and it was interesting and playful."
Jyothi, who hadn't secured top position in the previous three World Cups this year, shared her thoughts on the achievement: "I have been shooting good this year but somewhere I just felt there was something left behind. But today, since the morning practice I felt really, really good with the way I was shooting, and I just wanted to shoot the same way in the qualification."
Both Yadav and Jyothi have qualified for India's team at the upcoming Gwangju 2025 World Archery Championships.

Shubman Gill named ICC Player of the Month for July 2025 ahead of Ben Stokes, Wiaan Mulder

New Indian Test skipper Shubman Gill has been named the ICC Men's Player of the Month for July 2025 for his terrific performance both as a batter and a leader of a young Indian side against England, where India drew the Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy (five-match Test series) 2-2, the governing body announced on Tuesday. Apart from Gill, England captain Ben Stokes and South Africa's Wiaan Mulder were also nominated for the ICC Player of the Month award for July. ICC released a statement which read, 'India's Shubman Gill has landed the ICC Men's Player of the Month for July 2025 following his heroics against England in a thrilling Test series, after facing stiff competition from England Test skipper Ben Stokes and South African all-rounder Wiaan Mulder.' Gill scored 754 runs in his very first assignment as a captain during the India vs England series. The 25-year-old enjoyed a remarkable month in July, piling up 567 runs at an outstanding average of 94.50 across three Tests, smashing a double hundred and two hundreds in six outings. Gill shattered multiple records during the Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy. His 754-run tally stands as the second-highest by any Test captain in history, surpassed only by Don Bradman's 810 runs as Australian captain during the 1936-1937 Ashes. Notably, Gill entered the England series without a single Test century in SENA countries (South Africa, England, New Zealand, and Australia), having yet to play a Test match in New Zealand. The 25-year-old said it was a nice honour to be recognised. 'It feels great to be named the ICC Player of the Month for July,' he said. 'This time it holds a lot more significance since it has come for my performances during my first Test series as captain. The double ton in Birmingham is obviously something I will cherish forever and will be one of the highlights of my tour to England. The Test series against England was a learning experience for me as captain and we had some outstanding performances from both sides, which I am sure players from both sides will remember for a long time. I would like to thank the jury for selecting me for this award and my teammates who have been with me during the course of this exciting series. I look forward to continuing my form in the season ahead and bring more laurels for the country,' he added. Gill's breakthrough came with a century at Leeds, followed by a double-century (268) and another century (161) in the second Test at Edgbaston. His 430-run aggregate at Edgbaston ranks as the second-highest in a single Test match, behind only Graham Gooch's 456 runs against India in 1990. This achievement also marked the highest run aggregate by any visiting batter in a Test match. Furthermore, Gill became the first Asian batsman to score 700+ runs in a Test series played in the SENA nations.

Leading India in a Test series for the first time, and with stalwarts Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli recently retired, the 25-year-old smashed 754 runs in 10 innings — the most ever by an Indian captain in a single series and second only to Don Bradman's 801 against England in 1937. 'It feels great to be named the ICC Player of the Month for July. This time it holds a lot more significance since it has come for my performances during my first Test series as captain. The double ton in Birmingham is obviously something I will cherish forever and will be one of the highlights of my tour to England,' Gill said in an ICC release. Gill previously won the awards in January 2023, September 2023, and February 2025. Reflecting on the England series, which ended in a dramatic 2-2 draw, Gill said: 'The Test series against England was a learning experience for me as captain, and we had some outstanding performances from both sides. I would like to thank the jury for selecting me for this award and my teammates who have been with me during this exciting series. I look forward to continuing my form in the season ahead and bringing more laurels for the country.' India lost the opener in Leeds before bouncing back in Birmingham, where Gill scored 430 runs across two innings. The visitors then lost narrowly at Lord's by 22 runs, drew in Manchester, and pulled off a thrilling six-run win in the Oval decider. Gill will next be seen in action in the Duleep Trophy, which will kick off towards the end of August. He will be leading the North Zone side.
