Westmoreland County Fair
Friday is the first day of the Westmoreland County Fair, and it's the 71st year at the fairgrounds along Blue Ribbon Lane in Greensburg.
Gates open at 4 p.m. on Friday, and tickets cost $10. That ticket includes rides and parking.
There's plenty of entertainment and food available.
Kids ages two and under get in for free.

Lawrence County Fair
There's more fair fun to be had in Lawrence County.
That fair runs through Saturday at the fairgrounds along Midway Road in New Castle.
There will be food, rides, vendors, livestock shows, tractor pulls, and so much more.

Little Italy Days
Of course, if you're in the Greater Pittsburgh Area, the main event this weekend is Little Italy Days in Bloomfield.
It's officially underway and runs through Sunday on Liberty Avenue.
There will be plenty of homemade Italian food, non-stop entertainment, bocce tournaments, and, don't forget about all the sweet desserts.
The festival is open today and tomorrow from noon until 9 p.m. and Sunday from noon until 5 p.m.

Pittsburgh VegFest
If you're looking for something slightly healthier, Pittsburgh VegFest is back on Saturday.
The free event takes over Allegheny Commons Park on Pittsburgh's North Side from 11 a.m. until 5 p.m.
The whole festival is family and pet-friendly. There will be food from dozens of restaurants and vendors.
There will also be cooking demonstrations, shopping, yoga, and activities for the kids.

Symphony in the Park - Coraopolis
On Sunday, in Coraopolis, you can enjoy some outdoor music.
Symphony in the Park takes over the Riverfront Park from 3 p.m. until 5:30 p.m.
You'll need to bring a blanket or a chair to enjoy the tunes.

Keri Hilson Said ‘We Need To Talk,' So We Did
Keri Hilson spent 15 years away from public purview. Assumptions were made. Unsubstantiated fodder came and went. Now, she's back with a lot to say. This reintroduction started with her clarifying misconceptions with a six-part web series in conversation with herself. She continued to explain herself with her new three-part album, aptly titled, WE NEED TO TALK— where she makes it all make sense. Scene one, as she calls it, Love, is out now. Drama and Redemption will follow. 'What inspired the album title is the fact that we need to talk […] It's time to talk to my fans and answer some questions and give them the vulnerability that they deserve for waiting so long to hear anything from me again […] The second part of the album ['Drama'] makes the title makes sense,' Hilson noted during part one of our sit-down. She confessed that she chose to explain herself in this way because the extended recount is far better than the abridged one. Hilson acknowledged, 'It is a story. It is a movie. I did break it up because I was [told] people consume music in short, but I just kind of went rogue and was like, 'Well, my fans have been waiting long enough. I think my fans will listen.'' She was right. Hilson got proverbially 'naked' and admitted that she had a 'real longing to be understood' because 'I was hiding and protecting and doing things like that.' She continued, 'I deprived the world of knowing who I truly am […] I want the world to be able to see me for the first time, and that's what I'm trying to accomplish with 'We Need to Talk.'' Over the past 15 years, there wasn't just one defining moment that made her feel ready to talk. She was ready to get to 'jump back in the industry,' but also wanted to address how she'd been 'perceived.' Ultimately, her decision to end her hiatus was greater than living in fear of telling her truth. 'I still wake up every day and pray that despite what I'm being asked, despite what insinuations can be made, despite what clickbait can be created from what my words actually are or are intended to be, I can stand strong, be courageous, remain open and just be me and truthful,' Hilson revealed. In our illuminating chat, Hilson detailed why she 'feels closest to God when creating,' how Method Man ended up on her album, why she doesn't box herself in creatively, and the ways in which We Need To Talk will 'satiate' her fans. Humbly stating, 'I've worked harder now than I ever have in my entire career to make sure that this is something that would satisfy [my fans]. I'm making music for those who like what I do. I'm making music for those who have waited to hear from me again in a real sense, who I have impacted, and who are waiting.' Malcolm Jenkins still strikes an emotional chord years after leaving the Eagles
Who wants to hear something funny? Even as big fans of Quinyon Mitchell, that number 27 jersey reminds us of someone else. There wasn't much that went right during Chip Kelly's coaching era, but there were a few additions that gave the Philadelphia Eagles a handful of legends we fell in love with immediately. You can't credit Coach Kelly for most of them, as Howie Roseman was the man behind the scenes. Lane Johnson and Zach Ertz were both Howie Roseman choices. One year later, as the franchise began taking on more of Kelly's personality, Malcolm Jenkins was added to Philadelphia's nest. That trio became part of Philadelphia's core contributors almost immediately. Three seasons later, they were Super Bowl champions. The crowning jewel of their season was defeating the NFL's greatest coach, quarterback, and dynasty in Super Bowl 52. Jenkins' leadership was on full display and lives on through various NFL Films presentations as he was mic'd up for the game along with others. During his Eagles tenure, he was their 'iron man', never missing a snap, except for a regular-season finale in which then-head coach Doug Pederson rested his starters. That preceded the first Super Bowl-winning run in franchise history, one that made Malcolm Jenkins a franchise legend. Malcolm Jenkins approaches Eagles immortality By now, most of you have heard the news. Two former Eagles champions, Malcolm Jenkins and Bucko Kilroy, will be inducted into the franchise's Hall of Fame. Jenkins wasted no time showing his appreciation with an appreciative acknowledgement on social media. Jenkins wasn't just a great player with a sturdy physique. He was a socially conscious team captain who demanded respect in his locker room and others. He was a rock that assisted so many families in Philadelphia and New Orleans. He stood for justice and charity. He played as hard as he worked, launching a clothing line with phenomenal menswear. He was recently seen at the Eagles' joint practice versus the Cleveland Browns, taking in the sights and catching a few pictures as he has now tackled the world of photography. He'll kill it. When Jenkins puts his mind to being great at something, nothing stops him. He and Kilroy will be inducted into the Eagles Hall of Fame during the November 28 game against the Chicago Bears. Someone else is going to have to take the pictures and capture the video, though. '27' is going to be a little busy. He's an Eagle to the core, one who was as versatile as they come.
