Malcolm Jenkins still strikes an emotional chord years after leaving the Eagles

Who wants to hear something funny? Even as big fans of Quinyon Mitchell, that number 27 jersey reminds us of someone else. There wasn't much that went right during Chip Kelly's coaching era, but there were a few additions that gave the Philadelphia Eagles a handful of legends we fell in love with immediately.
You can't credit Coach Kelly for most of them, as Howie Roseman was the man behind the scenes. Lane Johnson and Zach Ertz were both Howie Roseman choices. One year later, as the franchise began taking on more of Kelly's personality, Malcolm Jenkins was added to Philadelphia's nest.
That trio became part of Philadelphia's core contributors almost immediately. Three seasons later, they were Super Bowl champions. The crowning jewel of their season was defeating the NFL's greatest coach, quarterback, and dynasty in Super Bowl 52.
Jenkins' leadership was on full display and lives on through various NFL Films presentations as he was mic'd up for the game along with others. During his Eagles tenure, he was their 'iron man', never missing a snap, except for a regular-season finale in which then-head coach Doug Pederson rested his starters. That preceded the first Super Bowl-winning run in franchise history, one that made Malcolm Jenkins a franchise legend.

By now, most of you have heard the news. Two former Eagles champions, Malcolm Jenkins and Bucko Kilroy, will be inducted into the franchise's Hall of Fame. Jenkins wasted no time showing his appreciation with an appreciative acknowledgement on social media.
Jenkins wasn't just a great player with a sturdy physique. He was a socially conscious team captain who demanded respect in his locker room and others. He was a rock that assisted so many families in Philadelphia and New Orleans. He stood for justice and charity. He played as hard as he worked, launching a clothing line with phenomenal menswear.
He was recently seen at the Eagles' joint practice versus the Cleveland Browns, taking in the sights and catching a few pictures as he has now tackled the world of photography. He'll kill it. When Jenkins puts his mind to being great at something, nothing stops him.
He and Kilroy will be inducted into the Eagles Hall of Fame during the November 28 game against the Chicago Bears. Someone else is going to have to take the pictures and capture the video, though. '27' is going to be a little busy.
He's an Eagle to the core, one who was as versatile as they come. Congratulations on the honor, Mr. Jenkins.
