EastEnders update from Alfie changes everything as Stacey makes a choice

Metro20-07-2025
There's an update from EastEnders' Alfie Moon (Shane Richie) this week that puts his wife Kat Moon's (Jessie Wallace) dream of buying The Vic under serious threat.
Alfie has been away from the Square in recent weeks, and unbeknown to Kat, he is in Spain trying to track down her estranged daughter Zoe Slater (Michelle Ryan).
Meanwhile, last week's episodes saw Stacey Slater (Lacey Turner) suggest to Kat that they should buy The Vic using a surprise life insurance payout Stacey received following Martin Fowler's (James Bye) death.
Plans are set in motion to make that suggestion a reality on Monday, as current owners Linda Carter (Kellie Bright) and Elaine Peacock (Harriet Thorpe) get ready to hold an auction on the boozer.
As the Slaters excitedly discuss the prospect of Kat becoming the new landlady, her happiness is short-lived when Yolande Trueman (Angela Wynter) and Ian Beale (Adam Woodyatt) voice concerns that buying the pub may not be the best way of spending Martin's money.
However, there is an ulterior motive behind Ian's words, as he is also planning on bidding for the Vic and is keen to see off the competition.
But a call from Alfie could end up changing everything anyway, as Stacey is forced to make an agonising decision about the money.
Reeling from Alfie's mysterious update, Stacey drops the bombshell on Kat that she can no longer lend her the money, leaving her devastated.

Stacey's mum Jean Slater (Gillian Wright) certainly seems to think there's more to it, becoming convinced that Alfie is secretly helping out Hayley Slater (Katie Jarvis), who he shares daughter Cherry with…
As the clock ticks down to the auction, Kat's dreams lie in tatters – will she find another way to secure The Vic, or is the iconic pub about to become the crown of Ian's local business empire?

EastEnders confirms devastating new ordeal for Stacey as the police are involved

EastEnders is lining up more turmoil for Stacey Slater (Lacey Turner) next week. Just weeks after finally grappling with the grief felt for late husband Martin Fowler (James Bye), a fresh new story is being lined up – and it harks back to 2023. In upcoming scenes, Stacey is thrilled to learn that daughter Lily (Lillia Turner) is making her way back to Albert Square after staying with her dad Ryan Malloy (Neil McDermott). Unfortunately, the happiness is cut short when mum Jean (Gillian Wright) and cousin Freddie (Bobby Brazier) are forced to break the news that her SecretCam content has been leaked online. As viewers will recall, Freddie introduced Stacey to the OnlyFans dupe when she was looking for a way to make some quick cash. Under the username IceSKater95, she uploaded feet pictures to the site to pay off her bills and a loan shark. Her uploads became more risqué at the request of a subscriber, who she later realised was Walford High teacher Theo Hawthorne (William Ellis). He subsequently stalked Stace', attempting to rape her and was handed a 10 year stretch in prison. But who has found the content this time? Well, Stacey's convinced it's troubled teen Joel Marshall (Max Murray), who we'll see her cross paths with later this week. Want to be the first to hear shocking EastEnders spoilers? Coronation Street casts Hollywood actor to play returning character's husband

Catherine Tydlesley is set to reprise her role as Eva Price on Coronation Street and it's been claimed that a Hollywood star will join her as bosses aim to rival EastEnders Catherine Tydlesley is set to reprise her role as Eva Price on Coronation Street, and will arrive with a Hollywood star playing her new husband. The actress, 41, quit her role as Eva on the cobbles in 2018 but is now said to be making a comeback, and the former barmaid will now be installed as Rovers Return landlady. ‌ Reports surrounding the return of Leanne Battersby's sister emerged earlier this year, but then nothing was announced. Fresh reports just last week claimed the planned plot was now approaching. ‌ It's thought that the move has come about after EastEnders bosses revealed that Kat Slater (Jessie Wallace) and Alfie Moon (Shane Richie) will be taking the reins of the Queen Victoria pub. Aaron McCusker, who starred as Freddie Mercury's boyfriend in the film Bohemian Rhapsody, is reportedly set to arrive alongside her as her new husband. ‌ A source told The Sun: "Corrie bosses were never going to take EastEnders shrewd decision to reinstate Kat and Alfie at the Vic lying down. So they took their time looking for the perfect actor to play her husband to Eva as she makes her return to Corrie as the new boss of the Rovers." The insider added that Corrie bosses knew they had found the 'perfect' actor as soon as the Irish-born star walked into the room. They added of his character: "Aaron's character is also someone not to be messed with, and the locals are going to be in for a shock if they think they can take advantage of his good nature and that cheeky Irish charm. ‌ "It's the start of an exciting new chapter in the pub's history." Aaron is also known for his role as Jamie Maguire in Shameless, whilst Catherine has appeared in shows such as Scarborough and The Good Ship Murder since her exit from the serial. She was also set to star in a cancelled touring production of Bonnie and Clyde: The Musical last year and went viral over a social media scandal known as Cakegate in late 2023. The actress first appeared on Coronation Street in 2011, and arrived as the daughter of Stella Price (Michelle Collins), who had arrived to take over the pub herself and reveal herself as the long-lost mother of Leanne Battersby (Jane Danson). ‌ Over the course of seven years, Catherine saw her alter-ego through numerous relationships with the likes of Jason Grimshaw (Ryan Thomas), Rob Donovan (Marc Baylis) and Nick Tilsey (Ben Price). Her most notable relationship was with Aidan Connor (Shayne Ward), but that started to go awry when he began an affair with Maria Connor (Samia Longchambon). Instead of confronting Aidan head-on about his infidelity, she decided to take revenge by putting a bright pink Range Rover on his credit card and then decided to fake a pregnancy. Maria discovered Eva's lies and exposed them all at the wedding but Eva later discovered that she was in fact pregnant with Aidan's baby. In order to go through with the birth in secret, she went off to a remote cottage and had planned to give baby Susie away to Toyah Battersby (Georgia Taylor). However, Aidan later took his own life and Eva began to grow close to her daughter, eventually opting to leave in the back of a taxi with her for good. If Eva does return and take over the Rovers, she will be following in the footsteps of former characters such as Annie Walker (Doris Speed), Bet Lynch (Julie Goodyear) and Liz McDonald (Beverley Callard), all of whom have helmed the nation's most famous pub over the course of the show's history. One such landlady is Jenny Connor, who is confirmed to be leaving the ITV soap.
